Property Ratings at 55+ Country Village Senior Apartments
Recently I moved in , Carolina was my agent. She made is simple stress free . Apartment is modern and small community vibe
can't complain in my apartment built brand new, making me the first owner. The facilities are good, gym has just enough to get a good workout in. The billiards room is pretty cool too, a good way to pass time. I havent gone to any events but those look like they could be fun. Staff has been friendly and accommodating. I can suggest this to anyone over 55 looking for a good place to live in California!
The staff here is amazing and friendly. Lots of events every month.. single story too so it's easy to access my cute little apartment! Neighbors here are friendly too, lots of opportunities to meet great new people..
The advertisement above is wrong. NO restaurant , NO Dr. NO Bingo etc. NO Friday nights movies. Crime rate has gone up considerably in recent months. Courtesy Patrol is NOT Security!! They work for Country Village only. 9 times out of 10 they are not even in the shack. Many people living here under 55. Leasing office not helpful. Resident pool is always heated to above 82 so not refreshing at all plus always dirty. Prices are definitely high and go up $130 plus a year. Way over cost of living. Many large 70 lbs plus dogs here. People let their dogs off leash. Dog park filthy. On and on and on.
Comfortable, all ground level apartments. Convenience of pharmacy, mom/pop food market, beauty and barber shops, dog parks and laundry facilities all on site. Professional office staff. Efficient maintenance crew. Gardeners maintain expansive acres of grounds weekly.
DO NOT RENT HERE! It is supposed to be for seniors, but the facility has so many trip and fall hazards ( uneven sidewalks, broken asphalt). The facility was built in the 60s and once you see a real apartment ( not the models) the truth will come out. There are ZERO activities for seniors. The pool and spa look nice but are not maintained. Also, the security at the gate is touch and go and never at night, so homeless people are a problem as well as missing shipments from doorsteps.
Very Overpriced. My apartment was outdated and very dark. Appliances used a lot of electricity. No microwave. Unit did not support wifi for more than one computer. Most amenities and activities closed well before Covid 19. Tie everything down. Dogs rule, barking, and crap. Maintenance very, very slow. Do your homework. Ask the residents and don't believe the tour guide.
I have lived here for nearly 15 years. The best retirement decision I made. Everyone looks out for eachother, I feel safe, and I love all the convenience of the post office and all the amenities. Cheapest around that isn't a dump!!!
The policies of Country Village Apartments management team made me homeless for two months. I was a month-to-month tenant, age 60+, and had lived there for 3 years. I had a 1-year lease for 2 of those years. I had always paid my rent and never withheld it no matter what was wrong in my unit. I was quiet, didn't smoke, drink or use drugs. I was a quality tenant and they kicked me out anyway with a 60-Day Notice to Vacate. I chose to live at Country Village because it was affordable. Since we are in a severe affordable housing crisis in Calif., I couldn't find a new place to live for four months. I lived in a motel for two months which qualifies, under state policies, as homelessness. Do not believe all the advertising about this place. The advertising makes you think you are moving to a place of safety for an elderly renter with few housing options, but you are not. I asked them why I was being kicked out and they refused to give me an explanation. The expense of all this was enormous and I had to borrow money from to survive. The managers of this complex are capricious, cold and uncaring people.
I have lived here for 4 years and will be moving because the Manager is rude and so is her staff. They increase the rent every time you renew your lease. The leasing agents are rude and try to make you feel that they are doing a service to you when they speak with you even though your rent is paying for there salaries. I believe it starts at the top with respect for residents. I would not recommend this place to live in because they have mold in the apartments because of the age of them.
Absolutely terrible customer service in office and poor maintenance! Grace and Pat are beyond unprofessional, rude, and a disgrace to customer service. This so called helpful staff does not tell the truth, do there job properly or have any good intentions for the residents who give most to live in such a poorly handled community!!! Have to appreciate the way they both refer to this community as a business and not residents homes. Maintenance will only come if harassed as front office obviously has communication issues. The great amenities are a disappointment so don't be fooled! The doctor onsite is no longer there as he had many mal practice issues. The Restaurant is no longer there. The community has drugs and dumpster diving continuously. Its gross !! Please do not consider having yourself or someone u love stay here. U will be highly disappointed!! BIG NOOOOOO!!!!
My parents have been living here for many years and every year the rent is raised for no apparent reason. Makes it tough for a senior to keep food on his or her plate when the rent keeps being raised. Neighbors are chain smokers and constantly blowing second hand smoke into my parents apartment. This property should have a non-smoking policy to help keep the air clean and free from second hand smoke which has been proven to cause cancer and other ailments.
I totally agree with the reviewer whose title was the same as mine. The rent goes up every year close to $100, maintenance of the project is close to nonexistent - poorly maintained grounds, dead trees, huge bare places in the grass, faded paint, windows that don't function, lack of insect control with a wash throughout the project for mosquito breeding. None of the sprinklers are repaired so the streets and sidewalks are all that gets watered - in a drought no less. New windows were only installed for the units on the prospective tenant tour and those that can be seen from the freeway and main road. I loved it here for the first year when all the amenities were functioning and we had very good management, guards and leasing agents; unfortunately, now gone and replaced by incompetent management, without training or consideration. We've had muggings and attempted break-ins and the pharmacy burglarized at least 4 times. The "guards" are to protect the property - not the tenants. They are now renting to tenants with children; some far exceeding zoning regulations and the insect infestations in these apts. have been terrible for an entire building. Complaints to management are useless as they really don't care about the project and the residents. "Handicapped friendly" isn't a term they care about. But the new tennis court was a priority. The unjustified rent increases for seniors makes living here a hardship - most of us can't afford to move - and our mobility and/or physical problems make it almost impossible to repack and move our furniture and belongings. They keep taking away everything I liked about the project when I moved here and enjoy charging me an additional $100/mo. with nothing to show for it but leaky windows and a decaying 1960's apt. project. The positives - the A/C and heater units work well but are not energy efficient (are expensive), a good pet policy, excellent floor plans, good location, and one story buildings. I will say that most of the tenants I've met and those I know are wonderful people - a shame Beacon management can't treat them with the respect they deserve in the twilight years of their lives - they deserve much better. Many have moved so investigate before moving in.
I took a family member to this complex. I was really disappointed. I found these apts. and grounds very depressing. The grounds were unkept, laundry room a disaster and just did not have a positive feel to it. We left. The information given was tantalizing but the reality was disappointing. The apts. were small and dark. I did not care for this complex at all.
Built in 1960--Very old. Treat senior's terribly. Web site claims FULL restaurant but that is wrong--NO RESTAURANT; no thrift store, Physician only available 1 day per week; they provide water for STAFF but have removed water facilities from fitness room, Ballroom--have infact made it difficult to access water fountain ; do not have much consideration for SENIORS at all. There is an infestation of Bedbugs in the apartment nest to mine---horribly bad. I am so disgusted that I can not even sleep. I volunteer for meals-on-wheels but the lady who did it before actually got paid.
nice location I love the area I have been living here for 2 yrs we have 2 pools l4 laundry rooms store, pharmacy and so much more
My apartment is the largest size apartment in this complex. It consist of 2 small bedrooms, average size living room & dining room connected, very small kitchen; therefore, its furnished with a very small apartment stove and a refrigerator)and an average size bathroom. The front porch is called a patio. Throughout the apartment it has tan flat carpet. Most of the time it takes a long time for maintenance to complete whatever task is needed in the apartment. The rent goes up every year at least $50-$100.00. We can have pets. There is a car port where I can park my car for a fee, but I park my car in front of my apartment so I can see it. There has been some vandalism.
I live in a Senior Resort, it has everything, 2 swimming pools, a ball room, an art room, a sewing room with 4 sewing machines for use, a fellowship hall, a lounge with books, flat screen television, tables and chairs for board games, etc. a pool room, a beauty salon, a barber shop, a weight room, a pet grooming shop, a pharmacy, a medical clinic, a senior services office, a market and deli, and a golf course; about 15 -20 minutes from Ontario Mills shopping mall, with bus stop right outside the security gate, quiet, clean and affordable. 24 hour security.
Country Village is a wonderful concept . it's more like a city with everything you need. Right here. We have a store , a deli , a Salon and Barber , doctors , pharmacy ,pet salon , senior services , a food pantry . plans are being made for tennis courts we have golf and pools and a huge building for vets , library game room , excersize room, computer room . we also have a fellowship Hall . we have art room with classes in art and ceramic classes. We have an acting class. It goes on and the great part is the rent is the most reasonable rent around. The apartments are beautify. I am in love with my adorable 2 bedroom apartment. It is filled with things I got off Craigslist free. Or spent minimum on things barely used. How I would live free rent , it would help me go to India as I so desire to do. Wish me luck !
Pluses: one story apts with poorly kept gardens and green spaces, 9 hole golf course and some mature trees. Minuses: raise the rent on fixed income tenants every year without adding to any amenities or any consideration for the amt. of income of residents; maintenance of paint is extremely poor; staff is very young and can't relate to "over 55 residents"; commercial center no longer allows golf carts which disabled resident use; no consideration for disabled or impaired mobility of residents; their "improvements" only have made access to common areas much harder; ignore feedback from residents; buildings are so old that windows and doors leak wind, dust, and noise; location near freeway and main road is detrimental due to noise, dust and soot; amenities and events continue to deteriorate. Once in it is too expensive to move so many have had to use their food budget to pay the rent. Look elsewhere before choosing this project. There are rumors that they will be renting to younger clientele and all ages will be accepted. They have already decided to convert our satellite laundromats to studio apts. cutting laundry from 6 to 3 and one main one in the commercial area. As one of my friends put it - "they just continue to take away - they are taking everything away that we moved here for." In one sentence "They just don't care" - especially if you are mobility challenged or handicapped in any way.
Country Village is a ok place to live. It has a lot to offer(for a Price). The monthly rents are being increase where a lot of families are suffering financially. A lot of these people are old and can not just pick up and move. We have a golf course, Dirty laundry facilities, Many outings are provided. A lot of things to do. What we don't have like most other senior apartment that would be the same in rent is "Nice stoves, microwave, dishwashers." Oh I forgot we are going to have a tennis court.
Change was not something I wanted to go through again. But the office staff helped me pick the apartment that fit my needs criteria. I have been smiling since I signed my lease. If you are over 55 years of age ... you should at least consider Country Village Senior Apartments. It's a happening place with great amenities.
