After viewing 5 potential units, I ended selecting C-201. I didn't realize how great my choice was until I lived here for awhile. I'm on the south side and my patio gets sun year around. Because I am on the end of the building, I don't have another unit to the east; because of this, I have two additional windows in the master bedroom, plus a small window in the bathroom. My patio doesn't have a shared common wall with an adjacent unit so I see open space in the morning as well as in the afternoon. Finally, because of the dropoff of the roadway, my view is roughly about five feet higher than others. I really enjoy the patio where I can read in the afternoon, and talk to many of the residents walking by. Another feature that impressed me. The deadbolt on the door can't trap a panicked victim in the event of a fire. I have worked emergency services since 1993, and have covered fatalities where the victim couldn't get out because the deadbolt was still locked when they tried getting out. This is a great feature that was never mentioned when I took the tour, but is really a valuable consideration when dealing with an older population. The self-closing fire doors in the hallways and elevators is also a feature that was never mentioned.

FountainGlen at Jacaranda is a lovely place to live and a friendly community. It is smaller in size than many, and gives one a feeling of closeness to staff and residents. When amenities can be opened safely again, this complex is the best around; many of the residents feel that all living here are friends.
