The mix of cosmopolitan flair and low-key atmosphere once led LA Weekly to speculate that North Hollywood just might be the best place to live in the Los Angeles area. This community has become popular among artists, writers, filmmakers, and actors seeking balance between easy access to Hollywood and a quieter, more suburban home environment.
The local food and bar scene is robust, and the bohemian vibe of the NoHo Art District attracts all manner of offbeat creative types. Uncommon among Los Angeles-area communities, much of North Hollywood is quite walkable, with food, drinks, galleries, and performance venues just a leisurely stroll away from one another. Thankfully for renters, all of the perks of this location come at a relatively affordable cost. Most renters pay an average of $2,282 to rent in North Hollywood, about $500 less than the Los Angeles average.

Property Ratings at 5544 Bonner Ave
Reasons living here for the past year has been a pain: 1. The kitchen and common areas are not large enough for the amount of people in the units. I haven't had any room made available in the kitchen so I've had to live off of microwavable meals the past year as there is simply no room for me to truly grocery shop and utilize the kitchen as needed. 2. Since I moved in, there have been boxes and clutter in the already cramped living room so I was never able to relax and unwind in that area. 3. When I originally signed the lease, I was told that I would be living among individuals in their mid-to-late 20s, please do not believe that lie if the leasing office tells it to you. I tried asking about my roommates when I moved in and was told no information could be provided due to privacy laws even though I was about to be living with these individuals for a full year. 4. There is no sense of community here. Everyone in my unit sticks to themselves. It might as well be the tiniest studio apartment with no kitchen as that is the experience I've had. 5. There are no on site amenities which makes being locked in my room basically the only option when I am here due to the poor condition of the kitchen and living room. 6. This neighborhood doesn't feel safe. There are street fights almost nightly that I hear right outside and I dearly miss feeling like I was safe enough to walk the neighborhood. 7. There is no on-site management and when I have had problems in the past I was told that there is only one manager for the multiple "Common" buildings around LA - this resulted in me being locked out of my unit for 19 hours once. Since no one in this unit talks to each other I didn't have anyone's number and I tried ringing the doorbell and knocking for 30 minutes with no success. 8. The price is not worth what you get. I mean it's great that utilities are included and that there are in-unit washer and dryers, but there is never street parking available so I have to spend extra every month ($100) and overall the experience has just sucked. Most of this would've been doable had I not been straight up lied to by the leasing office originally. The entire time I have lived here all I tell people is that I got swindled good - Common corporation won this round. Honestly, I would not recommend this place to anyone I know, and furthermore most of the residents I do run into feel the same way.
Frequently has the internet go out and issues with the Wi-Fi. Hope you like your showers cold because every month or so hot water will go completely out for about 4-5 days before coming back on. Not even worth trying to contact management to actually address anything, as they either wait days for the problem to resolve itself before stepping in (oh, hot waters running again now! looks like there's nothing we can do) or will just say they are going to "get back to you" but never do. Main area is a mess and it's clear that there is never any maintenance done. Would give 0 stars if possible.
Mostly for management and cleanliness in the building. Broken eggs on the floor in the garage since I move in. Apartments floors still not being cleaned. I was warned about management. I am now going on to two weeks with my keyfob not working. Me not being able to access the building with rent paid. Not only me, two. The first day this issue started I had to wait for 4 hrs for someone to let me in. I was in my period and needed to change. I had allergy, sinus pain and migraine while waiting outside in the heat and crying. By hearing me over the phone, they said it is OK let it out? Really???? Still no resolution.I and another person still cannot have access to our place as I write. They keep on making excuses and saying that the system is down. Down for only 2 people? I called the emergency number and they only kept on saying that they will escalate the problem to management for a week. Yet nothing happened Another time my car was hit on in their parking garage and they did not do anything about it.They said sorry no camera. Be aware!!!
