Pillar/56th Street Management does not have security at night - 1 person walks through once a night and then on to other complexes. And management does not care that people have had their garages broken into and stuff stolen. Management/Pillar just shrugs their shoulders Can't wait to end my lease.
Overall, this complex has it's good and bad things and my goal from this review is just to inform anyone considering it. The goods: amenities are great, pool is awesome, gym is well equipped, location is perfect if you're a big fan of Desert Ridge (even if you're not , you'll become one), and a big kudos to maintenance. Even during the tough times of Covid they managed to come out and fix whatever they could! When you know that you can trust maintenance, that's a good thing in a complex. The negatives honestly come down to the customer service, unfortunately. Everyone there is relatively nice however, I felt that my entire time there I was fighting to get anything resolved and the professionalism was lacking greatly. From minor issues such as retrieving mail, they quickly dismiss and there's no assistance to help residents. It's kind of a you're on your own type of thing. To greater things like noise complaints that took months of trying to resolve. It just felt like anything you bring up to them and ask for assistance with, they either dismiss or it's a he-said, she-said type of situation . My noise complaint issue took 4 months to resolve and was only resolved when everything I've been reporting for 4 months was addressed by a police call in the middle of the night and proof of the incident was submitted. This type of thing leaves the residents feeling pretty helpless in my opinion. As much as it probably doesn't seem from this review, I tend to stray away from ever complaining about anything. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and patience. I was repeatedly proven wrong though. The summary of my review really is, if you have no issues, this place will be great for you and you'll enjoy it! It's nice and clean and neat and provides a great social life. If issues do arise, I can't say with confidence at all that they're there to back you up or help you. I know there are rules and policies that need to be followed. I just didn't feel like the complex help up their end of sticking to lease agreements and living in a place like that makes me a little uncomfortable. I hope the situation is different for others and I hope that they feel more supported! :)
Our company has rented these apartments for our executives and the experiences our executives and I have had with the apartments has been incredible. Specifically, the staff has proven to be incredibly helpful and kind. I work directly with Kyle Sobota on a regular basis. He responds to our company’s needs with competence and efficiency. I cannot thank him and the staff enough for all their help.
DO NOT MOVE HERE! Coming from someone who has lived here for 5+ years read this review. Construction - there is 360 construction around the entire community creating excessive noise and extremely unsafe amounts of dirt and debris. The desert behind the property was advertised to many as a Preserve... That is not the case. This project will not be complete until the end of 2021. The property management has done NOTHING TO ASSIST. Not even allowing us to break our lease because of this unsafe environment.
Disgusting, dirty, rip off. Lie about their amenities. Pool not heated as they say. They don’t fix things when they break in the apartment. Dog poop all over the place, the walkways wreak of dog urine.
Amenities are good enough, not amazing but adequate. Gym is not as equipped but serves its purpose. Neighbors are quiet for the most part. Management is chill and professional most of the time except getting calls regarding fining for leaving out smelly trash before trash pickup time. First of all, there was no update of email received that trash pickup time has been changed back to a later time after curfew is over. In the email, it says "please be sure to have your trash bagged, tightly tied and put in the bin outside your door by 4:30, for collection to begin at 5 pm". That means, any time before 4.30pm is good to leave the trash out. Yet, we got a call that says they will let us go this one time for leaving out trash that smells (trash obviously smells), and that next time, there would be a $25 fine. That is not appreciated at all. We understand and appreciate the importance of keeping the hallway clean and odorless but warning us with a possible fine next time is not appreciated. Other than that, no problem so far.
My girlfriend and I were wowed by the apartments when showed the model floor plans and the view that we were getting from the current apartment that we are living in. The complex also provides resort style pool and fitness center which is a huge plus! The apartments are brand new and there are very few tenants which is nice. It also seems to be in a very convenient location for our lifestyle, with Scottsdale quarter a few minutes away and the Desert Ridge marketplace down the street. Now that I have gotten the good parts out of the way, I want to share the bad. When we first moved in, customer service reps were very professional and seemed very accommodating, we were not able to move in right away but we were treated fairly and given a special promotion, unfortunately we could not get a hold of anyone by phone, and constantly had to communicate through e-mail, which seemed to make things much worse, the reps here seem to have little knowledge of the payment systems, properties and security systems. Our keys don't work half the time with any of the surrounding access points, and there is very little follow up, regarding tenant concerns. Everything has to be done through an outside company who provides online portal services, and for anyone who needs an answer right away, that can be a nightmare. We were also promised that construction would be all but done by now, it is done in our surrounding areas but we constantly have workers and who knows who else moving in and out of the complex, which is a huge concern for me, regarding the safety of my girlfriend. After moving in we noticed that the craftsmanship of the apartments is not very good, studs in the wall are off center, wood floor laminate is peeling (was peeling before we even moved in.) and it just has a cheapened feel for the price, not surprising seeing how fast the apartments went up. All in all, if you're looking for an apartment that has great access to the freeway, has surrounding nightlife, and is generally well located for the Scottsdale and Phoenix area, 56 North is for you, if you want more for your buck and great customer service then it is not.
