Property Ratings at 6Wood Flats
I lived at 6Wood Flats for a year and loved how close the building was to everything, such as the transit center, Fred Meyer and Target. I didn't have any problems with management and did not have any problems regarding criminal activity. My only complaint is that residents don't always clean up after their dogs. Always be on the look-out for that!
Property Manager at 6Wood Flats, Responded To This Review

We hear your concern about pet cleanup and appreciate you bringing this to our attention. It's important that all aspects of living here meet your expectations, and we'll look into ways to improve this for everyone. If there’s anything more you’d like to share or need from us, please feel free to reach out. Take care, The 6Wood Flats Team
I called late Friday and spoke with Sarah -- she was very good to me. She was upfront that the property, while very nice, didn't have one of the features I really needed. And, since I was not familiar with Lacey, she went out of her way to email me a couple properties she knew good things about, which I don't even think were part of her company. That is an integrity move and reflects well on her and her company. Good vibes. Jason
Property Manager at 6Wood Flats, Responded To This Review
Hi Jason, Thank you for sharing your experience with us for 6 Wood Flats. We are glad to know our team was able to provide you with such outstanding service. We wish you the best with your relocation to Lacey. Your generous feedback has been shared with our team. Thanks again & take care!
Had a 1 bedroom unit on the first floor in 2019 and it was everything I needed. 24/7 gym is very clean and has all of the necessities including wifi, packages go to a secure locker, management is great and quick to respond (and very nice and pleasant), maintenance guy is very knowledgeable and quick to fix things that may require attention, in unit washer/dryer. Only complaint might be parking so hurry and get a reserved parking spot - it's worth the $10-20/mo. I don't care for a day/rec room or swimming pool so I didn't mind that those were not available here. There's an elevator (or stairs) for the 2nd-4th floors with key card required to enter ther building during night hours for added security for 2nd-4th floors. My 1st floor unit front door was facing the parking lot which was very convenient especially for moving days. Great location in Lacey close to everything. Management will answer any question with a smile and they even remembered my name/unit # every time I spoke with them. And again you can't beat the prices for an apt community that is this clean.
I have lived here for about 9 months, and absolutely love it! I live in a one bedroom, 1 bathroom on the 2nd floor facing 6th Avenue, and I have a nice view of the park a block away. Everything is so convenient here! You are with in 1/2 mile of stores, restaurants, and I-5 as well as Saint Martin's College. Management has been nothing but warm, welcoming, and helpful. Sarah goes out of her way to help in any way possible and is always there with a smile. The only noise that I've encountered is typical footsteps or a washing machine or dishwasher running during the day. With the sliding glass door closed, I don't hear any noise from traffic. The income requirement is steep, yes… but that also ensures a level of security that you don't find in a lot of other complexes. I would recommend these apartments to anybody!
Even if it wasn't for the fake manager who is out to take advantage of you and destroy your credit, the building is absolutely disgusting and wildly overpriced for such an incredibly poorly maintained apartment complex. This place should be sued for false advertisement. When i chose to move out early for a better apartment, i was told that the inspection went well and if there were any problems then i would be contacted. Instead i got a letter FIVE MONTHS LATER saying that i owed a small amount of money and now i have bad credit. Always record everything they say. I still have the recording of me being lied to and if the damage isn't reversed, you can bet I'll be sharing that. If the manager happens to read this, you know who you are and shame on you for being a such a fraud. I don't know how you sleep at night.
My wife and I have been living here since October 2015 and we have no plans to leave any time soon This building is in a great location. It is within walking distance of Fred Meyer, Target, many restaurants, the Lacey Transit Station and more. The current leasing office maintenance staff is awesome They are available, understanding, and helpful. The apartment layouts are nice and many of the units have walk-in closets. The cabinets, flooring, and counter tops look like they were put in this century, which is rare for these price ranges. My only MINOR complaint is the parking. If you get home late, there may not be a parking spot available in the main lot but there is street parking near the building that is usually available. The rent and pet fee is a little high, but for a place like this - it is worth it!!
This apartment complex may not be perfect for everyone under the sun, but it has been fantastic for me for the last three years. I bought a car last year, but before that got around only by foot, and it was still convenient! Banking, groceries, dining out, heck...even the dentist! All within walking distance. The office staff really go above and beyond. They are nice, easy to talk to, and do their jobs well. A few weeks ago, I was out of town working on a truck and realized that we needed a part for visual reference that was forgotten in the apartment. I called the apartment manager and asked if there was any way she would email me a photo (to save 3 hours of travel, gas, etc.), and she was kind enough to do that! 20 minutes later, we had half a dozen photos of the backing plate and could confidently move forward with "truck surgery." REALLY above and beyond kindness!
Location is convenient and office staff seem nice/helpful, but those are the only positives. 1) The noise is pretty bad. In my unit, anyway, the walls are paper thin with no soundproofing/insulation. If people next door or on the walkway outside are speaking at a regular conversational volume, you will be able to hear every word clearly. 2) There is technically a "24 hour Fitness Center," as advertised, but about half of the equipment is broken, the water cooler has not been filled since I've lived here, there is no WiFi, and there is only one television which is facing a broken treadmill. 3) All of the stairways are disgusting. They are almost never cleaned. If somebody spills garbage or a dog leaves a mess, it just stays there. For months. There are three stairwells, and sometimes every single one is literally covered in garbage and dog excrement. 4) The fire alarms go off in the middle of the night all the time. I've spoken to people who've lived here for years and they say it's nothing new. It is happening less often lately, to be fair (it used to happen 1-2 times a month and now it only happens every 3 months or so), but still way too much. 5) The apartment itself is ok. It's not as big as other similarly priced apartments nearby, it looks a little shabbier (the walls are painted unevenly, the floor in one corner of the bathroom is unfinished), and the appliances are old/poor quality, and there is no air conditioning, I'm not sure why that's listed as an amenity. None of the apartments I looked at have AC.
