Property Ratings at 600 Whisman
The apartment itself is clean and well equipt. The property is well maintained and extremely peaceful. Very easy on and off from 101 and close enough to downtown without dealing with parking issues and noise.
I lived here for about 6 months, I think I can give an objective review. The room is small given the price. There are several companies nearby, often large noises can be heard early in the morning (7-8 AM), such as leaf blowers, trucks. Privacy is another thing, the window is very close to stairs and people can see through your apartment easily. Unlike other apartments, no gyms or pools but we still pay the same amount of maintenance fee. It is close to some companies if you work for them and do not mind the loud noise early in the morning. In terms of living quality, it is not a very good choice.
We lived here for quite some time before calling it quits. We would have moved sooner but had to stay in the area for work and the prices in Mountain View are beyond terrible. You would think after being good tenants for so long there would be a nice offer to stay but instead it seems they want to kick people out with the insane price increases. The lease renewal letter is almost laughable, it doesn't seem legal to raise rent up to $500 more a month after a lease ends. Here is the thing: This apartment is nice but does not offer many amenities to offset the rent by any means. You won't get a pool, hot tub, fitness center, or even much space at all. You don't even get your own patio and that is a nice thing to have if you ever want some outdoor privacy as the community area can get crowded at times. I have seen other reviews that speak of the management as being money hungry and I honestly have to agree. The rugs in the apartments are terrible and require changing but that must not be worked into the budget. I would say that this place is good at luring you in because the community looks nice overall. If you are only staying for a few months it might be alright, but if you plan to stay longer I would suggest finding a place that truly cares about it's residents.
Very well maintained with BBQ area and fireplace as well as a small park in the middle of the complex. Nice apartments with washer and dryer within the apartment. No pool or gym though
