Home to UCLA, Westwood lies on the west side of the city and is considered to be one of Los Angeles’ premier neighborhoods. Bordered by Beverly Hills, Bel Air, Brentwood, and Century City, multimillion dollar homes populate the landscape and students pay a premium to rent near campus.
The university itself serves as a major cultural center for the community, including on-campus attractions (such as the Fowler Museum and the Franklin D. Murphy Sculpture Garden) and university-affiliated venues off-campus (The Hammer Museum, the Geffen Playhouse), as well as the presence of thousands of students and faculty members throughout the neighborhood.
Directly south of campus, Westwood Village is a historic shopping district that features blocks of restaurants and businesses catering to both students and the neighborhood’s larger workforce. Many prominent corporations and law offices are found along Wilshire Boulevard, one of the busiest east-west transit corridors across the city.

Property Ratings at 655 Kelton Ave
This is BY FAR the worst place I have ever lived. We have a cockroach and termite infestation, and mold growing on walls. Just be warned that the cheap rent comes with all these problems, which the management refuses to get to the root problem and would rather put a bandaid solution on it.
Lived here for a couple of months now and the cockroach problem is very serious, horrible experience
I lived here for two years while at UCLA. I found it to be a good walking distance from both campus and Westwood Village. I’m really glad that they include parking with the apartment as that made my time at 655 Kelton so much better. The apartment was in good condition when I moved in, and my maintenance issues were resolved quickly. German (the building manager) lives in the building and is responsive via text and call for issues you may have. He helped me with various maintenance requests, questions about the lease, packages and deliveries, etc.
I lived 2 yrs here. The managers are kind and nice. They response quickly to requirements and are always willing to help. Definitely great management! But honestly, the building is terrible cuz it’s really old. The wooden floor is thin and loosen, so NOT well sound-proof. The noisy neighbors may drive you mad in the midnight! CAUTIOUS!
the smell of the room is bad, smells like a very old building. Cockroaches in the room and also the corridor.
These apartments are managed by a very down to earth and personable team! The building manager, German, and the maintenance technician, Robin, respond very quickly to requests for repairs. They’ll go out of their way to fix any issues for you, even if it’s outside of regular business hours.
I moved into this apartment last August and signed a year-long lease for a 2 bed, 2 bath. I chose this place due to its proximity to UCLA and affordability. Westwood area is very expensive, and 655 Kelton was a cheap living option. The rent also included gated tandem parking (which is huge bonus and a must in Westwood if you have a car). At the beginning of the year, my roommates and I were worried that the cheap rent would come at the cost of a terrible living situation, but surprisingly, we enjoyed our apartment. We lived on the 4th floor with huge windows that got tons of natural light during the day (our electricity bill was very low). There were 2 washers and 2 dryers per floor for laundry. Manager on site, German, is the best and very responsive to any issues in the building. Our packages were stolen from the mailroom and the residents were obviously upset. A week later, glass doors to the mailroom were built to make the mail more secure. A lot of tenants complained about the old dryers not fully drying their clothes and brand new dryers were installed shortly. My walk-in closet had a low hanging shelf above that made it annoying to take hangers out, and I got it fixed the same day. Overall, I enjoyed living in 655 kelton ave. You won’t get the luxury experience of hardwood floors and fancy amenities at more expensive complexes, but you will have a spacious apartment that feels like home! For a student on a budget, you can’t beat the location, parking, and responsive building manager.
The apartments are poorly maintained and cockroach and carpet beetle infested. Management sucks. Worst apartment experience I have ever had.
