Swissvale is a historic borough located fifteen minutes east of Pittsburgh on the banks of the Monongahela River. With a long history as a manufacturing community, Swissvale today is one of the region’s most popular suburban commuter towns, filled with affordable rental houses and apartments and offering easy access to the city via Interstate 376. The sprawling Frick Park sits on the edge of town, providing a terrific venue for outdoor fun.
On the north side of town, the area surrounding the intersection of Braddock and Hutchinson features several popular hangouts, including the Regent Square Theater, Murphy’s Taproom, and 61B Café. The center of the borough features a robust commercial district, with small cafes and bars scattered among the neighborhood streets as well.
