Property Ratings at 775 N Broad St
I lived there for 3 years, the super was bad, all him and his friend would have a party in the garage, mice are running everywhere! The elevator works once a month. Your package get missing all the time.
No parking. Horrible accommodations, can't wait until my lease is up so I can say goodbye to this awful place
I have been living in this building for over 5 years now so I know what I'm talking about when it comes to this building. Starting off with the Cons: There is one super who maintains about 75 apartments maybe more with the help of his relative. When you need something to be done in your apt. it takes him some time to get to it due to insufficient staff. Every winter the super constantly puts up signs that say "heat/hot water will be cut off during so and so time and date due to 'maintenance'" I don't believe there's any maintenance that takes place during these times. I have never seen any type of work being done. I find that it's most convenient that the super is authorized to shut off the heat and hot water to save the landlord some pretty pennies during the rigid winter season. Most people that live in this building think the same and have moved because of it. When the heat isn't shut off its still freezing in your apartment. The super even gets himself little electric heaters to keep his apartment warm during the winter. . . Also if you are unlucky and have rude people living above you, you can hear their footsteps all day long. This may be normal but the bathroom can get moldy if you don't dry up the walls and even ceiling. There is no fan to take out the hot air from the bathroom when showering. To prevent that you have to constantly leave the window in the bathroom open to let the air go out. The water pressure is a joke. No matter how much you turn the knobs of the sink or shower the pressure won't change. The living room in the 2 bedroom apt. is a nice size room, the only down side to it is there no light fixtures. If you want a light in that room you have to put a lamp. Now for the Pros: The super is really nice! His family lives on the main floor and they are very nice people. They hold any packages for you that come in the mail if you are unable to receive them yourself. The location of the apartment is amazing. You are near midtown Elizabeth, there is the New York bus right outside of the building, you have stop and shop up the block, and a 5 minute drive you have Kean university, the train station is also a 5 minute drive as well. Perfect location for a commuter. The rent is not that expensive compared to other buildings in the same vicinity. The people who live in this neighborhood and the building are quiet don't look for problems. That's basically all I can think of on the top of my head. I hope this helped if so mark as helpful! :)
