In a mostly safe and busy area. Just recently moved in and love it. Pet friendly and within walking distance of tons of things to do. Any issues I found on move in day we’re quickly fixed by maintenance. Beautiful amenities on property. I love it here!

I would not recommend to anyone. We have lived here since August of this year and we have had at least 8 maintenance requests. You can find an apartment that is much better than this one. It will have better staff, amenities, and responsiveness to maintenance requests. Don’t waste your money at this apartment and get stuck in a lease like we have.

Wow! I love this place!! I did a lot of research, read lots of reviews and looked at a lot of apartments but kept coming back to Modera. They checked every box for me wrt location, management and maintenance response, garage security/safety surrounding areas. In addition to the above must haves, what made me finally decide was the warm welcome and quick response I got from Jessica and Sunny! They made all the difference and worked with me on resolving all my issues from move-in dates to moving transport even when the issue was not theirs. Very accommodating and very attentive! Although the parking fees are quite high, it is still competitive when comparing with other apartments. I highly recommend Modera as your next home. Feel free to do the research and read the reviews yourself but stop by and you'll see what I mean :) Thanks Jessica and Sunny for all your help with my moving experience! Keep up the great work!!

NOISE... Despite all the great reviews here - let's please talk about the noise at Modera the Alameda, which comes from all directions. If your apartment is facing the WHOLE FOODS, there is plenty of noise, particularly AT NIGHT. Almost every night there are deliveries happening, and that is - in the middle of the night, from anywhere 2am-5am. Most of the time around 2am. What makes it particularly noisy: There is no loading dock trucks can dock onto. They have to park in front of the loading zone, and offload pallet by pallet. Every time the loading ramp/bed of the truck hits the floor, with a worker and a pallet and dolly on it, it makes a real loud noise that echoes up the entire building. It echoes because the parking lot is empty. Sleeping with the windows open is therefore kind of impossible... Even with closed windows you will hear it and not only light sleepers will wake up from it. On top of that, garbage collection shows up in the middle of the night, to collect Whole Food's trash, which is, you guessed it, very noisy and echoes as well. So PLEASE be aware of the noise disturbance that bothers so many peoples' sleep here at Modera who's apartment is facing the Whole Foods. But that is not it. The Whole Foods has several very loud, constantly running generators on its rooftop to provide power to the store. The loud noise is constant, 24/7, and while one could argue it's a kind of white noise, it is still very loud and those big generators are not pretty to look at either. Do not expect the leasing office to tell you anything about this - at all. Even when asked directly. Apart from the Whole Foods. The Alameda is a loud, relatively busy street. The train station has trains coming in and out blowing their horns also relatively loud, even sometimes at night. Lastly you have airplanes flying into SJC in about 150 feet proximity to the building all day. You get the idea.... This place is far from ideal if you care about noise, as it's coming from all directions. Finally, the hotel to the left of Modera (Arena) has the sketchiest people hanging out in front of it, all day, and you will always encounter homeless on the street.

We have taken measures to address the hotel next door with the San Jose police department and we have seen a huge decrease in activity recently. The hotel also employs a guard service daily. While much of this feedback is not in our control, we are happy to review options like a transfer to a new apartment or other ideas you may have. I absolutely love my apartment , the community and the management and service department is amazing .
They kinda suck. The maintenance staff is great but the leasing office is full of very rude people. The maintenance orders are awful too, you can’t get any work done in a timely manner which is extremely pathetic. If I go up to one of the leasing office agents (who also handle aspects of the property management) they will say,” use the app or website to submit a work order.” Then you’ll wait two weeks and nothing will happen. Go up to one of the maintenance workers though and they will help you if they can. I see a huge disconnect here, I think the leasing office doesn’t communicate well. Also, they lost our documents on seven separate occasions while we were applying and made the move here so stressful that if the place across the street had any openings we would have just gone there instead. Unless they have a change of staff I would not recommend moving here because you will be belittled by them whenever they can.

One of my favorite things about The Alameda is the staff. They are friendly, always greet you when they see you, and can answer any questions you may have.
Good building, clean and ideal location. Management communication is poor and lacks proper understanding of how to ensure tenants are satisfied with their living situation. Would not recommend anyone to live here with the current management company.
Shout out to Britney at the leasing office for always being super helpful, responsive and always available to help if we are having any issues!
