Property Ratings at 7950 West Sunset
NOT a secure building. People wander in from Sunset Blvd all the time, lurking around and IN the elevators. Enjoy sleeping? Fire alarm goes off all the time, usually between 3am and 5am. The BUILDING itself charges monthly energy fees of about $85/month. This is IN ADDITION to your rent and your LADWP and Gas bills. There's a 12% rent increase on my lease renewal paperwork. I am moving anyway, but it's worth knowing these hikes are standard practice here. For a good tenant with no credit issues, paying the market rate already, that's kind of greedy. The owners just feel entitled to raise rents annually regardless. Finally, they do "degreasing" in the building. It's a process that fills the halls, garage and your car with a really strong rotten egg smell for days. It takes place pretty frequently.
I currently live in this building and it is horrible. I can not wait for my lease to be up! The building is unsafe; two apartments on the second floor were just robbed last month, there was a fire on the third floor, insane parties with noise all hours of the night, unsanitary apartments with leaks. I would say RUN from this property!
Went to check out this apt and was treated rudely by the female apartment manager (I'm not sure of her name) but she couldn't bother to even get out of her chair to speak to us even though the other staff were busy showing units. We then walked around a little and found this "luxury" apt building full of trash, mold, and beer bottles everywhere. For the price of these units you would think they'd keep it clean and the manager could get off her butt and speak to us. We decided to go tour The Crescent up the street and were treated great, all questions answered, very clean and organized and reasonable in price. I wanted to like 7950 and wanted to move there but am glad we were treated less than and were forced to look around. We now are moving into our new place next week and couldn't be happier. If you want to be treated as a giving unit, live in trash, musty smells, then check out this place.
This apartment is the best place that someone can stay at in West Hollywood. My roomate and I love the place! The workers there make sure that you're every need is fullfilled. The parking here is garage spaces and the people are kind. If you are new to the California LA living I PROMISE you that this is the place to live! ??
