Property Ratings at 80 Arden Street
This building is perfect for the working individual, steps away from the A and 1 trains, about 25 minutes to midtown. The apartment is along a beautiful tree-lined block near Fort Tryon Park, various bars, restaurants, nightlife, and many options for groceries, drug stores, and shopping. The building is well-maintained with a live-in super, elevator, and laundry room in the basement. It's the best of both worlds of living in the city - a quiet neighborhood with everything you need and an easy commute to the center of the city that never sleeps!
The building where I live is one half a block away from being in the "projects." It is saved from this distinction by another building whose entrance is on the cross Avenue. The apartment is classified as a "one bedroom", due to the fact that there is no living room and the foyer is the size of a large closet and can't be classified as a living room. The second room does not have a built in closet, is being utilized as a living room by me, but the glass panes on the door have been painted - probably by previous tenants so they could utilize it as a second bed room. The bedroom has two closets which are add ons by the Landlord, but are too small even for me who does not have too many clothes. One of the best features of my apartment is its overall size of the two rooms. Both have two windows each. There is a relatively good sized kitchen with a window. I have a chest freezer, a cupboard with space for a microwave and a butcher block table from Ikea, between the stove and the door to the kitchen. There is sufficient space on the opposite wall for a breakfast table, if I chose to have one. The toilet is the only room that is tiny with just enough space for the 3 important - tub, sink and the toilet itself. However, it also has its own window. Yes I am human and have lived in my apartment for 12 years and two months.
I live in a big one bedroom apartment located near the Cloisters, which is one of the most (if not the most) beautiful parks in New York City. The building is located in the quiet part of the neighborhood, but it is near two major subway lines and great restaurants. The apartment itself has an eat-in kitchen, huge living room and bedroom. In fact, the living room is big enough to split if you ever wanted to make an extra bedroom. Bathroom was renovated before I moved in. Building management always keeps the grounds clean, are very helpful and professional. One of the best apartments I ever rented.
