This historic inn was originally the home of the Commandant of The Sloane Hospital, a Civil War Infirmary. I'm an architect and over the last 25 years have built into the home 3 wonderful furnished apartments which are filled with art from countries of the world I have traveled to and teach about. Architecturally significant about the building design are the large windows, which provided sunshine and light. I live at the property between the front apartments (first and second floor) and this apartment which is over the garage. During the off-season months of November through April our apartments are rented monthly. This is a no smoking, scent and pet-free property. We use unscented cleaning and washing products. The backyard, which is shared, has a beautiful view of the sunset, and valley downtown Montpelier with the capitol building. We are about a 10 minute walk downtown. This apartment looks out on the views through a beautiful window. There is wall-wall carpeting in the main living space, and a tile floor in the bathroom, and bamboo flooring in the kitchen. Parking is available at the rear of the property for 1 small-medium sized vehicle, and for one vehicle per apartment during winter parking bans. on site. Weekly linen/towel service is provided and all utilities and maintenance (including plow service) are included in the rent. Occupants wash their personal laundry off-site. The apartment has a full kitchen, equipped with an oven, microwave, toaster, fridge and coffee machines. The bathroom has a 3 sided glass shower.There is 1 gb free dual band WiFi and two signals at the property for the front and rear, so plenty of internet for all.
