Property Ratings at 800 Carlyle
AVOID this property. Over the last year or so, this has become the worst property I have ever lived and the worst management team I have ever dealt with. Rude, condescending, dismissive Property Manager. Charge on lease will be higher than when applied. Dog Poop everywhere. Marijuana, cigarette, and incense smoke entering unit and nothing done my Manager. Unit will be dirty and unhygienic upon move in. At least 10 short term rentals with rude guests who smoke, leave dog pop, have aggressive dogs that will attack, and treat the property poorly. Rental Hosts and Property manger will deny issues and are rude, condescending, and dismissive of concerns. Parking and amenity fees have double but building just keeps getting worse. Upon move out, exorbitant damage charges nearing one thousand dollars with no explanation or evidence plus they won't show up to their own scheduled move out appointment. Noise from neighbors in every direction. Stolen packages from supposedly secure lockers, using the managers personal code, and nothing will be done. Manager will take weeks to respond. No resident events or resident appreciation. I can't wait to move out and I will never stay in a Kettler managed property again.
We have a neighbor that plays his music every single day and management has done nothing to control this person. The old manager lied and said this person was moving in Feb. Lied New management has done anything some girl answered phone and said call the non emergency number for police. I’ve done that multiple times. What is management going to do!? We are so ready to leave this place. I am over this neighbor and poor management
It's not the apartment that's the issue, it's whose running it, when the switch to Kettler occurred so did communication, customer service and standards of care. No decent community events for a whole year, post COVID, just doesn't feel like a welcomed property. The price isn't worth the trouble, and not to mention the noise that comes from upstairs neighbors if your on a 3rd or 2nd floor, the ciderary has noise late nights, if your on that side and there are serious water issues, my apartment has had water dripping from the ceiling which was unresolved and that could create mold issues. The gym is small, the only decent thing is having an amazon locker and the parking, other that never again. Avoid this place, go elsewhere.
If you’re looking for a comfortable living experience this is the WORST place to live. the elevators never work, management staff is slow to react to issues that NEED to be fixed, the cameras don’t work, we never have Resident events or feel any type of appreciation for choosing this place to live and The Property Manager does a horrible job of maintaining this beautiful property. It has so much potential and if the management company is smart, they’ll make changes. The focus should be on us as Residents not your budget numbers!!!!!
The property is well kept and in a great location near everything one will need. The leasing agent Chiconda was great to work with and very knowledgeable about the property and helped me find just the right unit for my needs. Nadia is also very friendly and helpful. I felt welcome here from the time I called and highly recommend.
This place makes it hard for single women and minorities to live and be comfortable and safe. The building is made poorly the walls are thin and its creepy to have mean and angry maintenance workers walking around the building. The woman in the front offe named Shay is judgmental and rude. Lloyd allows to much dis function to go on . Im not sure if anyone who wants to feel comfortable will want to live here.
Very nice apartment and staff. I would recommend living here. It is close to metro and many stores and services.
So far my experience at 800 Carlyle has been great. A lot of kind, personable people. The concierge has even brought packages to my door he knew I would struggle with.
Overall great apartment building. Responsive and friendly staff. Mix of older and younger tenants makes for a largely quiet building with friendly respectful neighbors.
I recently moved into 800 Carlyle and I absolutely love it. The administration has been extremely helpful and I can't speak more highly of the property manager. The building itself is gorgeous and in an awesome neighborhood where everything is in walking distance. I would definitely recommend this apartment complex.
I have been living here 6 months love it great place to call home
Living here is unreal. Ideal location, easily accessible to two metro stations and quick drive to two major interstates. My apartment is the perfect size, nice amenities and the residents and staff are amazing. I looked at over 20 properties. 800 Carlyle was the best choice!
This is a true community. I have made several friends quickly. The management is responsive and professional.
We love 800 Carlyle. The apartment building is clean and well maintained. Management is great and communicates everything in a timely manner. The maintenance team are always prompt and professional. We also enjoy the amenities, especially the pool in the summer. Location is fantastic - walking distance to Metro, Old Town, grocery stores, and restaurants!
Living in 800 Carlyle is a dream! The complex is clean, quiet, and well-equipped to spend my days. The price is more than fair and the location is fantastic. I absolutely love living here, and I can't imagine being anywhere else in the area.
Specifically, the building manager (Lloyd), front desk employee, and the entire maintenance staff are very friendly and approachable, and they each respond to needs/requests to ensure the utmost satisfaction of residents.
I love living at 800 Carlyle so far. In the month that I've been here I have appreciated help of the maintenance and office staff. I've also really loved my apartment! It is spacious, quiet, and located in a great area. I'm excited to see future development that occur in the surrounding lots as well, as I know there are a lot of projects already planned!
800 Carlyle is in a great location and worth the rent.
This is a great and friendly place. The manager here is polite and he respects the needs of the residences here . Thank you Manager Lloyd and his staff.
I have loved my apartment, the look, feeling of security and convenience to my job. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. As long as I live in Alexandria, I would want to live at 800 John Carlyle.
We've only lived at 800 Carlyle for a few days but love everything so far. The amenities are great and the location is awesome. I have found the staff helpful and courteous and the apartment itself is gorgeous!
Manager Lloyd is very responsive, professional, and genuinely caring. Vincent and Jamie also very responsive and professional. All three are topnotch
Helpful staff, great location and walking distance to many shops and restaurants
This place is awesome! Lovely staff Kirsten is very pleasant and friendly she really made me feel at peace with finding the perfect place there. This place Has views, their are so many places to walk around and there is a local cider brewery walking distance across the street . When you come out the garage there is a water fall and a beautiful sign that says Alexandria. Not to brag but this place has style and charm ; practically comfortable for singles and couples, most of the neighbors are also friendly and socially acceptable to all walks of life.
Gotta say as a nervous apartment renter I am happy to say that the people at 800 carlyle are top notch. The place is always clean, residents are friendly, the concierge, maintenance, and leasing office people are very pleasant and make the faily commute just that little bit nicer. Personally I like the general decor and styling along with the high quality of the appliances in my studio. Everything works well, the preventative maintenance work shows spectacularly. Also Josie is super nice and hilarious so if you get the opportunity to live here, get to know her ??

We strive to provide exceptional service in all we do, and to provide a welcoming and wonderful community for our everyone- and we think Josie is pretty fantastic too! If you ever need anything else from us, please feel free to give us a call or stop by. Have an awesome day!
Up until today, I would have recommended this place. However, I am outraged because they are charging me to replace the "damaged" stovetop. This is complete bogus, because it is definitely not anything more than normal wear and tear. I have always been a very conscientious renter. I did not do anything other than use the stove as intended. If you want to get your security deposit back upon move out, don't move here.
We have really enjoyed living in 800 Carlyle! The staff has been exceptionally friendly and helpful from the time we took our tour and that hasn’t stopped since moving in. The staff goes above and beyond to help create a community that feels like home. It feels wonderful to be greeted by name and feel known in the place we live. Fun events are hosted regularly for the residents and it’s clear that the 800 Carlyle staff genuinely cares for the residents.

Thank you for the kind words. We really appreciate your residency. Best, Samnang Man Assistant Property Manager
I know living in Alexandria is expensive, and when you compare this place to others, it is reasonable. You can have a pet, friendly management, management continues to maintain building, things are clean, apartments quiet. I highly recommend living here.

I have been living here since 2014 and the staff here is the best! The office personnel are always friendly, helpful, and attentive. The Concierge knows everybody’s name and makes you feel like you are the only tenant! The Maintenance personnel are quick to respond to any need and keep the facility immaculate! It is because of the 800 Carlyle Staff that I’ve stayed here for so long; they make this place my home!

I have lived here for 1 1/2 years and have to say after living in other apartment complexes, this is by far the very best experience I have had. The staff are friendly, helpful, and very pleasant to interact with. They respond very quickly to any issue (there have only been a couple of minor things) and they are proactive in communication with the residents. The apartment itself and the location is great but what really makes living here a superior experience is the fantastic staff - a bonus that does not come with many other places I have lived!

The apartment is located away from the main road so you don't get much traffic noise, it is located right in front of a bran new turf soccer field which is great for exercise or just kicking around, as well as being right across the street from one of the better gyms in the area. There are a number of different apartments depending on your needs and what you are looking for and my all are nice looking.

Building seems great at first but soon after move-in problems began. Fire alarm goes off randomly but gives off constant high pitched beeping on first floor, elevator breaks down regularly, exterior doors are left open randomly for days on end and there are seemingly endless building wide service/cleaning interruptions. Some of staff is super nice and you feel like they'd do anything for you, other staff members are nice but seem totally inept.
