edit after living here a month: this apartment complex is a joke. they don’t call you back. they don’t care about there residents. they don’t do there jobs. the “4 sparkling pools” are constantly closed. one is permanently closed. they are argumentative. maintenance comes in without calling first even though you request that. one of the maintenance workers i caught mistreating his own animals so don’t trust them with yours. i’ve never lived in a apt so frustrating. within my first month of living here i needed to put in 13 different maintenance requests to my “ready to move in apt”. and there was a leak from my upstairs neighbors. just one thing after another here. oh anddd the dog park is DISGUSTING. poop everywhere. on top of all this my dog somehow got a hold of a drug at said dog park and had a seizure. very scary. also the pool is GREEN

Literally maybe been here for a month and it’s been nothing but terrible. So unprofessional with literally everything. Our apartment got flooded twice literally not even 2 weeks into moving in and had to wait 2 weeks for a response about our flooding. Its obviously not serious in there eyes. Ask them if there was anything they could do for us since since all our clothes and bed got messed up. There response was we can do something if you have receipts. Respectfully who keeps receipts for things bought that long ago even 3 4 months ago. Been waiting for them fix still hasnt been fixed. No reason for us to be here longer then this 1 year lease we under. We appreciate the staff when we first signed our lease because they were nice and all but that doesnt cover the disaster weve had to deal with no even a month in.

This complex has significantly gone downhill over the last two years. You can call management 6 times over a two week period and they will never return your call. Ever. When you put in a maintenance request, the maintenance team LIES about completing it and it does not get done. The bugs were not a problem until this year and now there are LOTS of roaches, fleas, and other bugs due to the complex not being well maintained. I would suggest you take your business elsewhere. I did.

I have lived here since March 2019, the first year living wasn’t that bad besides having bugs in the apartments, messed up roads throughout the apartments so expect your cars to get damaged, and loud upstairs neighbors that they won’t do anything to help you out with. And because of the new owners, rent has gone up so trust me when I says YALL CAN FIND BETTER!!! Management is horrible and constantly will “beat around the bush” with any problems...
Management tells you they received your maintenance request, yet they do almost nothing about it. Still waiting on time sensitive maintenance needed from over a year ago. Maintenance guys are willing, but the system and office are slower than molasses. Office staff are worse than useless, and they're rude. The buildings are literally falling apart, and any fix is just a patch job. Mailboxes broken into without residents being informed; a fellow resident had to leave a handwritten sign for any of us to find out. Don't waste your time here.
Everything about these apartments are great! Almost every day I have to deal with noisy neighbors though...the ceiling is thin enough to hear yelling and obviously loud music.
Maintenance was almost always fantastic. The oven in our apartment was quite frankly DANGEROUS which tells me it is very cheap. When cooking in the oven or on the stove the surface would always get dangerously hot. It is a good thing we didn't have children at the time. We could never cook anything without the smoke alarm going off. We even had an issue where some of the rubber sealant around the oven door fell into the oven and it caught fire! My boyfriend put out the fire and contacted maintenance immediately to let them know what happened. Maintenance came and replaced the seal around the oven door, they didn't bother to clean out the ash or anything. My boyfriend let them know about the issues we were having, and how we didn't feel the oven was safe. They said it was fine and didn't need to be replaced. As I was cleaning the oven before we left I noticed that the rubber seal was starting to melt away again. So a word to the wise, be careful with the ovens. Check them often. I was fooled by the model apartment that they showed us before we moved in. Don't be fooled. Imagine my excitement. We moved in to our first apartment together and I was so happy and excited. My heart and excitement slowly melted away at what I saw. Uneven shelving in the cabinets, rotted and moldy looking base boards a painted over hole in the wall caused by a door lock. All of which were noted in our pre-move in inspection, none of which were addressed. Almost the entire time we lived there the apartment smelled like mold. We complained about it only to be told that they didn't smell anything. There were roaches there the whole time we lived there. We paid monthly for pest service. They came out twice a week when we moved in and the critters went away for a while, only to return when the poison was cleared. I don't know if they changed companies since we first moved in but when the bugs came back we contacted them again. I was home when the man came. He literally came in, appeared to look behind the oven and then left. He wasn't even in the apartment for a total of 5 minutes. Naturally they never left. (Mind you we are paying monthly for pest control.) My car was broken into only once. I had another neighbor come up to me one morning saying that his car was broken into as well. He asked if I had seen anything, unfortunately I had not. Other than that it wasn't a bad place to live. It is an okay place to start your life together.

For all that the office girls are sweet and the street kitties are cute , the apartments (or at least ours) suck. We lived here two years and, in that time, had lots of mishaps. The first being the neighbor’s water heater leaking and flooding both their apartment and our kitchen. Then, we had rats the size of 2 week old kittens and super brave mice. After we called the pest control guys (who only come out Tuesday and Thursday!), we had rats and mice dying in extremely inconvenient places and starting to stink. I had to pull out the dishwasher while pregnant to remove the rat that had died under there and found, not just the newly deceased one, but a skeleton too. I got no help from maintenance when I called. A while later, OUR water heater broke and flooded the place. Then our tub developed a crack in the bottom and began leaking into the carpet in our bedroom and our closet; Mold and mildew ensued. There was also mold all over the ceiling in the bathroom, but maintenance wouldn’t take care of it. The closest pool to us was not open at all last summer. To top it off, We moved to size up because we are having another child and the water heater broke again and flooded the place AGAIN while we were moving out!

We have preventative maintenance programs put in place to try to minimize the amount of water heater and other troublesome maintenance issues. This program has us walking every single apartment twice a year to check the status of the water heater, smoke detectors, fire stops, air filters, and the efficiency of the HVAC unit. This helps out tremendously with repairing issues found during inspection, before larger issues can occur. Unfortunately with 836 homes, emergency situations still happen, and we are sorry this had happened to you. This is the worst place you could live at! If i could rate it negative stars i would!! they will charge you for anything! they ONLY want your money. poor customer service and the office people are RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL. maintenance people never do their job. the apartments are cheap and ugly and need remodeling. nothing looks like the pictures on this website. the roads are bad and they have an insect problem. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.

Hmm let’s start with outdated cabinets and old bathtub . Seems like maintenance crew glues/paints over everything back together after every lease term. Pools are closed more than they’re open. Crappy streets. Overall money hungry place with unprofessional staff.

I was super excited when I moved back into the complex and the management company Greystar had taken over. The maintenance time and quality have been much improved. I have lived here for years because I work less than a mile away and I feel safe here and don't have any issues. Last week I come home and have a note on the door to take down my bamboo blinds. Well I get full sun and the apartments are really old and have poor insulation and the shades (that are not in poor repair and are very nice looking) have to come down. I still see apartments with curtains actually hanging up on the patios. Last night I come home from work and there is a note on my door that I have to replace my blinds by today or pay them 50$ to replace them. They are the cheap little ones, not the nice wooden ones that people that move in now get. I called the office and the girl that answered was rude and asked me why I couldn't go to Walmart and get some. That really upset me. I let her know that I work 50 hours a week and go to school at night and on the weekends. I asked for a manager and got the response "they are not here" She was really rude. I am just struck by the fact that they have a high turn over and there are a lot of empty apartments and they seem to not care at all about the residents that have been there and paid rent and have not caused any issues. Another time I had my bike stolen off of my porch and someone try to break in. I called the office and asked the locks to be replaced that someone tried to break in. I didn't so much as get any questions about that, no one asked me how I was doing or card at all. I was told "it is $60 to change the lock and you have to pay up front" I asked for a sliding screen door and was told that I have to pay 60$ for that. Why would I have to pay for that? Its not like I am going to take that with me when I leave. I have referred 2 people there, I have been a good paying tenant, I don't cause issues or throw parties. I get along with my neighbours and I never complain and I can't even get common customer service and decency from the office when I call. I am just frustrated by them.

This place was easy to move into but they are shady after you move out. They charged me for not returning a trash can (something that was never in my apartment) and said I "scratched" the countertops (these "scratches" are no bigger than cm in length)and charged me $125 to replace them. They billed me over $800 after I moved out. I emailed corporate and I felt they were understanding until they ignored my request to pay a lower amount, which I told them I firmly feel I responsible for. They said they would look into it on January 11. On March 13 they responded saying the bill went up because of an error they made, and they have yet to answer why they did not respond for over two months. I've reported Greystar to the BBB. Don't live here.

I moved in about 3 weeks ago and i was blown away by the office team. So many people ready to help me and the leasing process was so easy! I really didn't have to do anything but show up for my keys on move in day! The girls had already set it up to have my electric, my insurance, even my mail transferred this new apartment for me! I've rented before and it was nothing like this that's for sure! The apartment is spacious and really clean. The neighbors I have met have all been really nice and helpful. I cant wait to go to these resident events they keep telling me about. I haven't had any issues finding parking near my building which is a huge plus! I easily feel at home here. I would recommend this complex to anyone looking for an apartment!

I lived in these apartments for 2 yrs! I never had any problems! They are well maintained! The office personnel are always friendly and willing to do anything they can to help when I need it! Maintenance always comes within the hour of calling for something needed to be fixed! I would recommend these apartments to anyone looking for a home.

I absolutely love these guys!! They are always on top of the landscape--I always see them trying to keep up with it, which shows good working skills. When there is a maintenance issue, it's always done as soon as they can get to it. The community is definitely neighborhood friendly. No much noise, but plenty of kiddos roaming around. The faculty as a whole are awesome! I notice how they are always on top of their game, as well as keeping a smile on their face!

Definitely the best apartment I've ever lived at. The office and maintenance staff are awesome too! I had an issue with my A/C going out and were very quick to fix it. It was even late at night and they helped me out.

The staff at this location is so friendly and hardworking! They seem to really want to help the residents and are always smiling and having a good time as a team. I love how they offer so many resident events. The last location I was at hardly ever had any events. They have Resident Appreciation Week as well as many other events throughout the year. This month they even have free snow cones every Friday! You can tell the new staff really wants to turn things around. Maintenance requests are promptly completed and the complex has never looked more welcoming! I was having a payment issue and the assistant manager was so patient and understanding with me. Really good experiences here!

These apts dont even rate one star but had to at least hit one to submit. Never would I go back to this place. Id rather live on the streets.. 1st they take forever to respond to a repair you may need.. but are quick to respond once you leave, to talk about fees owed. Never did anything about complaints on neighbors.. had roach problems and ant problems no one ever took care of. and now, that i moved out with 2 month notice.. its almost like they are trying to get revenge with fees. These apartments are charging me $700 reletting fee.. so oh yes, you will get charged too once moving out. Repairs are outrageous.. and still have not gotten any receipts like ive asked for 3x.. just harrassment emails about what i owe and the charges are valid. They tried saying they have in writing that they spoke to me personally about the fee and yet, thats a lie. When i ask whos signature is on that document with lies.. no response.. Never once has anyone ever contacted me. I ALWAYS have been the one to contact them, up until now that they want more $$. Scam!!

There's lots of better options. Nobody should expect greatness from a cheap apartment, but 8500 Harwood falls below the curve for sure. Office staff can be pleasant until there's any issues. Rent is cheap, but so are the units. The unit I got looked nothing like the model. Lots of dated and worn items throughout. The showers weren't properly surfaced, just painted over. That peeled in a short couple months, now it looks terrible. Grout underneath hadn't been repaired in a very long time. The website is down more often than it's up, so paying rent online is not reliable. I've had to scramble to get a check last minute multiple times. Office is inflexible, just not great customer service. I was looking to pick up a package and was running 2 minutes late. I called to see if they could stay for all of 2 minutes after close and was told no, the doors would be locked at 6 sharp and no one would open them after. So it goes, I don't want to stay late all the time either, I knew I was asking as a favor. When I got there at 5:59, a minute before close, the closed sign was already out. If you're not willing to stay late, you sure can't get away with closing early! I knocked and someone let me in, making sure to take credit for "helping me out". There were plenty of people in the office just doing paperwork, me picking up a package took all of 30 seconds. It wasn't necessary for them to stay late, and I acknowledged I was asking for something outside the norm, but for a customer service front it's pretty sad that there wasn't a single person willing to open the door after 6 when they were going to be there anyways. There's plenty of cheap apartments in this area, pick another one. Any other one.

The pictures they show online are nothing like the actual apartments the drawers break very easily,they claim they fix some thing and then not to long afterwards it's broken again definitely not worth the amount you pay for it they make you feel like your in prison and they are just above you roaches are always coming into the apartment no matter how clean you keep it definitely don't recommend these apartments to anyone

I am not going to lie, the move in process was definitely a pain, but after finally moving in, I love it here and can't see myself anywhere else. The apartment wasn't ready by the time our lease started but I am glad we waited because they definitely made sure our apartment was in great condition. Granite countertops with brand new all black appliances, steamed all the carpets and a great new paintjob! And the best part, which I must say I was a little afraid of the so called "infestations" claimed in the majority of the reviews, no roaches! I was so concerned about it because of the reviews that I actually bought Advion Syngeta prior to moving in, but did not have to use it yet! Great Amenities and staff that have always helped! My advice is to give them a try, they really do try their best to help as much as possible, and do it quick because the apartments go quick! We've tried for 2 apartments prior to this one that went seconds before we could get it. But again, totally worth the wait for the price. Oh and the community is great as well! Had a chance to talk to a couple of neighbors, great people!

This apartment is more affordable than most, and for a place this cheap you get rooms with surprisingly large space and decent condition. It's a good deal. What really shines here is the staff. The landlords went above and beyond for me when I was in trouble. They treated me like a human being, instead of a commodity, and that's the best thing a landlord can do.
This apartment complex stole money from me! My wife and I looked at their apartments in 11/2015 and put down a deposit with all the fees. Over the course of several months, they kept switching their stories on extra fees and at one point told us we couldn't move in. After all of this, I just wanted my $300 deposit back. I had to argue with them about the a portion contract which states that if I could not move in, I would get my deposit back. They told me it would take 30 days and it has now been 3 months. I have documentation stating that I would be receiving $200.00 (yes $200 not the $300 I paid), but when I talked to the manager, they falsified documentation stating that we just chose not to live there, thus forfeiting our deposit. Other than that, I've tried calling them and getting no answer or call backs. This is by far the worst customer service I have ever seen in my life!
My first apartment and was highly disappointed. Move in date was 4/10 and moved out 4/12. Infested with roaches, ceilings caving in, and broken windows. Wouldn't recommend to anyone!

My fridge chiller had went out and I put in a request and the next morning Early. The repairman Lenard or Leonard (I don't remember how it was spelled) but he was a great guy and I'm so happy he's still working for these apartments. I got my fridge fixed within 30 minutes. GREAT MAINTENCE!!

The complex is old and has bed bugs, the staff is ever changing. You would be lucky to see the same person twice in the renewal process. They are slow to respond to repair needs.

You get what you pay for. Really cheap. $715 a month for a two bedroom, two bath. Pools didn't open until the end of July and the gym hasn't been open the entire time we've lived here. Our AC wasn't working properly and had to have maintenance come out 4 different times before the issue actually got fixed.
Luxury living at it's best! My apartment is wonderful. The staff is wonderful. The maintenance crew is wonderful. Quiet, peaceful, safe and convenient! In the heart of North Richland Hills - Close to everything! High recommendations to 8500 Harwood Luxury Apartments!!!

Don't do it. They have such nice, sweet employees working in the office. We came in wanting a bottom floor unit due to my disability. They said they had no units available, but the next day they called and said a unit JUST opened up (looking back...pfft...it was all a gemmick). We should have taken our first impression when we went to see the model unit and drove past a meth-head looking man screaming at a drug riddled woman to never come back and that she was kicked out. But we had this ridiculous positivity because the unit was so much bigger than our last complex. Move in day, we had to keep everything, even the bread, in the fridge because the unit was covered in baby roaches. Still, 5 months later, we are having the bug guy come by every other week. The first 2 months we were here, the dishwasher would not work at all. After 3 repairmen came by and could not figure out the problem, finally one came by and informed us the entire center piece that sprays water was missing. Then he superglued a new one, which broke again, and finally the 4th month here, we received a new center piece. When the A/C broke because I called in for a filter replacement, it began leaking water and took a week for an A/C repair man to show up. Turns out the guy that fixed it had only replaced 1 of 2 filters. Also the repair man finally changed our the P-pipe in our drains and found YEARS of gunk & hair so bad that he was gagging...RIGHT after I moved in! Never even used the sink because it had constant gnats flying out of it. Uck!!! & the first maintenance man told me to just pour bleach down the drain!! That doesn't even start the list of problems. I've seen drug deals involving some type of white powder and when I reported it to the complex, they basically said "Nothing we can do about it so call the cops". People are allowed as many pit bulls and huge dogs that are unleashed & agressive (my Jack Russell didn't stand a chance). & these "dog parks" are nothing more than poo covered grass that will attract flies to your unit. You can't toss your trash because the garbage bins are always full, you have to park about a mile from your car, and they less than care about handicapped parkers...I not only have to show my permit but my PRIVATE medical history indicating why I have a permit. Run run as fast as you can. Unless you like leaving messages with an answering service in another town &/or state (They told me Florida) that will NEVER be returned.

I live with ny sister. My college is right accross the street and these apartments just so happen to have a bark park which is great and beneficial to me since we have a puppy at the moment who loves to run and be outside. Though our apartment is two bedroom and two bath, it doesnt require some assistance when it comes to the carpet, when we moved in, it was smelly and full of stains. But since we needed this specific place we rented it. It is nearly affordable but it isnt worth it for its looks. The management does need a lesson on customer service, for they havent helped up a bit on our AC's failure to work on this hot summer, and we have been having to buy fans. Other than those issues, the complex is alright.

Maintenance crews are extremely quick and amazing. They get a request done even a small one in less than 3 days and maybe even 2. Jesse who work in the office (or so I last checked) is so sweet and extremely helpful, she's the only one I trust and like tbh) it's a good place it's a good starter apartment not bad at all.
Not only are the 8500 Harwood luxury apartments homie and spacious. the community the lives here are very welcoming. My college is just across the street and did you say breakfast? how about brunch or lunch for that matter. everything within walking distance. honestly i don't mind driving to work and back everyday. theres even a water park not 5 minutes from the complex. All your needs are just an email away and they'll come and assist you. if your package couldn't fit in your mail box they'll send you a courtesy note on the their behalf to pick it up. now that I'm writing this i think ill sign another year lease when its over. happy hunting!!!
