Property Ratings at 909 West
They do not communicate. They keep your deposit and any overpaid rent. They promise to make things correct with a credit but never follow through. The building is cheap and everything but the kitchens are run down. The pools is closed typically by the County. And your paying a premium price for all of this. 909 West should be avoided
909 West is a great place to live! I would recommend it to anyone.
Do not move here. Worst experience ever and terrible management. Nothing ever got fixed. No damages were made and took our entire deposit and sent debt collector asking for more. Not maintained whatsoever and a year was far too long living in that establishment.
The property has roaches and bird poop every where, there’s a bee next outside my apartment, i submitted a work order and it was cancelled within 5 mins and never addressed. P
Management tries to levy these hidden charges on you all the time. And they hang up the call on your face if you try to call them. The property manager is rarely on the property.
This is the worst place I have ever lived. We moved in June 15,2021 for a short term lease while our house is getting built. First issue was on our move in day our apartment wasn’t ready & instead of the management calling like professional people would they allowed us to show up with our Uhaul to be told the apartment is not ready. They said to return the next day same time. I wanted confirmation next day in order to avoid more mileage on the uhaul & no one could contact me back. When Shai finally did to confirm it would be done almost 4 hours after the original time they told us to show up. They said they would cover my Uhaul cost they never did. August 3rd our sink clogged & backed up I submitted the maintenance request & we did not have a sink for 2+ weeks. We were washing our dishes in the sink in the bathroom & had to eat out more because eventually it molded & unbearable to be in the apartment. I had to go into the office to demand for a plumber or we would be terminating our lease. They got the plumber that day. Fast forward to right now on the 8th the ceiling in the hallway started dripping & a bubble formed. 2 weeks pass & no reply from them by this point it has damaged the ceiling light and it’s full of water we are dumping bowls of water everyday & of course I have to email everyone again to inform them of this serious issue. It’s Shai’s first time hearing of it after two weeks of the request being out just like last time. She never calls me to inform me what’s happening. My fiancé returns home & there’s just a bigger hole & a note to not use the light. Today September 23rd maintenance guy let’s himself in thinking no one was home so he didn’t announce himself. Exactly what he told my fiancé because he startled him out of his sleep. Guy leaves tells him everything’s all good cos he unclogged the AC. They close the maintenance request. So we have a gaping hole in the ceiling & burned out light fixture. I email them because I’m confused what is happening & if they are just going to leave the hole there. No one has ever contacted me during this so I have no idea what to expect. I ask them to release me from my lease due to them breaking their responsibilities as owners clearly outlined. The manager Shai says we have to buy it out and give them 60 day notice. I have a meeting with her but let me tell you DO NOT MOVE HERE. I HAVE NEVER ENCOUNTERED SUCH UNPROFESSIONAL UNTIMELY LAZY MANAGEMENT TEAM THEN THIS ENCOUNTER.
This complex has fallen apart. The staff doesn’t care. Problems don’t get fixed. Cars get broken into. Dog poop everywhere. Won’t change a lightbulb. Never pick up the phone. Just save ur time and look elsewhere.
I've been living at this location for a while now and I must admit it is a great place to live! I recently had issues with the pervious management due to poor professionalism and a lack of communication. Imagine living in Arizona where it gets over 100 degrees and not having a working ac. I would like to personally thank Shai and Tangela for their professionalism, and being responsive to help get my issues resolved. I was able to get issue resolved within 24 hours of making the request. They do a great job making sure that everyone regardless of being a current tenant is comfortable and safe. I would recommendation anyone looking for a place to live to check out 909 West!!
Don't move here! Moving out will cost you. There was a different management company when I moved in but I moved out recently and the NEW management is trying to tell me I owe $527 when there is only minimal wear and tear. $200 for touch up paint!? Oh you mean to repaint the bathtubs someone painted before we moved in? Who paints the bathtubs instead of replacing them anyway?? NOWHERE in the apartment was there $200 worth of paint missing. We never even hung anything on the walls. I paid a $200 deposit and from the cost sheet they gave it doesn't even say my deposit was applied but you're asking for more money!? I won't pay until you apply my deposit to what is owed or you can have a debt collector call me till they give in and lower the payment anyway. Thanks!
Do not rent here. Literally anywhere else. Resigned but didn’t realize new management company were terrible (JRK management). Obviously regretting but want to warn people. New management company/staff is terrible. The manager has awful communication skills/zero empathy at all. Uses curse words over the phone while throwing their own employees under the bus. The phone number for the leasing office is sometimes not in service. If you do get through you have to leave a message. Many occasions of this happening. On an average of 2-3 messages later you can call them again and finally get ahold of someone but they have no idea why you are calling and have no reference to your messages you’ve left. Also don’t think about asking for a breakdown of your rent, they will outright refuse to provide any payment or billing details other than lump sums. Are they overcharging you or not? Who knows? That’s just some of the fun you’ll be having when you lease here. Good luck everyone else still stuck here. If you think you can reach out to the management company itself I wish you more luck.
Property Manager at 909 West, Responded To This Review
Hello, We have made several calls to you and sent emails as well regarding your concerns. We’ve also asked you to visit the office to review your account, so that we can answer any questions that you might have in person. However, you have not taken us up on this invite. While we do want to address your concerns, you have to work with us to make that happen. Thank you.
I was told that even though a neighbor is being so loud that it’s shaking things on my walls to be mindful that it’s not quiet hours! Apparently people are allowed to be as loud as they want during the day, no matter how disrespectful. Also, the dog park has not been maintained well since new management arrived. The whole grounds are often covered with dog droppings and the bins for the droppings start overflowing. It’s quite unpleasant.
The property managment before the new one was terrible. The NEW staff is pleasant to work with. Shai toured me and Monique moved me in and they were very helpful ?? such a smooth process ! Thank you
DONT LIVE HERE - aside from massive roaches around the property, there have been multiple instances of car theft as well as break ins and the management company has done nothing to step in or alert the community of an issue. Your belongings are not safe here.
Worst experience ever with new apartment management. Been here for two years never had a problem. Save yourself the trouble. Cars get broken into no one does anything about it, your guest cars will get towed about after visiting for two hours than have to 150 to get there car out. If you have a question your net with attitude from the apartment manager Ashley very rude. They don’t care about the build there is currently a hole in the in the ceiling with water is coming out it’s been there for about two weeks now. They halls are dirty no one cleans them. Water gets cut off all the time no warning
If I could pick up this property, move it 30 miles north and bring the management staff along, I wouldn't be leaving. But alas, I can't. My unit was pristine when I moved in. I had more counter space, drawers and cabinets in this apartment than I had in the townhouse I owned. Closets? You want closets? Plenty here! In the first month, the washer had an issue and it was replaced super quick... so fast my laundry didn't have time to accumulate! Any maintenance request was addressed within 24 hours, or the next business day for minor requests. I can't say enough about how responsive and professional Nicole and Stacey have been with. Any concern was immediately addressed. I looked forward to going into the office just to say 'Hi!' and share a laugh. The property is well maintained, clean and updated. Everyone who visited me here said 'Wow, this is a nice complex!' Unfortunately, not all residents are mindful that they live with lots of people around them, but that is the nature of apartment living and management is vigilant in addressing those issues, too. Location is great... shopping and dining within walking distance. It's super easy to get to I-10, and easy to connect to the 60, 202, 101. Close to the airport, 15 minutes to the terminals...but there is no airport noise. There is a bus stop right by the main entrance for public transportation. Like I said... if I could pick up this property and move it closer to my work, I would. Five thumbs up, stars and happy faces for 909 West!
I am resident over here and recently moved to a 2 bedroom apt. And move in experience was horrific. When we moved in the apartment was not fully cleaned and there were pet hairs all over the bedrooms. When we reported this to front desk they were so casual of the fact and no one bothered to see the situation. When we repeated asked to clean the floor they came up with one small vacuum which will not work on even the wooden floors. All they were saying that they have on record that carpet was cleaned but they don't want to believe what a resident is saying to them. Finally, they came up with some high end vacuum which they could have done at first place and cleaned up the place. And, when we asked to clean up the apartment their response was ' we are not apartment cleaners'. Can you believe it? On first day of your move in the facility people are saying that. Though, i like the area and the location they handle their own resident very BAD. Please be aware.
Great place to live I'm surrounded by everything and it's still a quiet neighborhood.
Currently a resident at 909 West and have been here for a couple months. We LOVE it...we looked at a lot of complexes before deciding on 909 and just didn’t get as good an impression anywhere else. The grounds are kept very tidy, folks in the office are incredibly friendly and helpful, and it’s a quiet, safe area. Maintenance answers requests almost immediately as well. Overall we’re extremely happy here!
Someone broke into my car and stole my belongings. Your safety is not guaranteed here.
We lived here for almost three years and moved out last month. Here's the good, the bad and the ugly. The GOOD: - The new management was super friendly and responsive to maintenance needs. One time, our garage wouldn't close and I called at around closing time. After chatting with the manager, Stacey, she personally came over and helped. - The complex is dog friendly. - Every contact I had in the office was professional and kind. - When we moved out, I disputed some charges and Stacey did remove some of the amounts. I want to give her kudos for listening and doing that. However, we still dispute a big ticket item. See below for that. The BAD and UGLY: - We moved, in large part, because of the CONSTANT marijuana smells in the building we were in (Bldg G). I complained to old mgt & new mgt on multiple occasions. I'm certain there was at least one drug dealer on our floor. We were on the 3rd and 4th floor & shared the fire escape area on the 4th floor. The smell was rampant & came through our doors & the smell came downstairs. There were 3 apts on the 3rd floor that continually smoke it as of the date we moved out. - In June, one day between 10 am - noon, my daughter's car was put on three bricks and all four tires and hubcaps were stolen. We filed a police report & advised the apts. 2 days later, the same thing happened to another car. - I saw drug deals happening in the parking lot during mid day while children ran around. When they spotted me calling the police, the car took off quickly. This happened on several occasions and happened as late as June '17. - There were ALWAYS spiderwebs/spiders on the hallway light fixtures. - I could never sit outside on my back porch because of the cigarette smoke from people around us. - We were charged almost $600 for carpet replacement. In my entire life, I've NEVER been charged for carpet. I talked to Stacey and Gail about the situation. I understand where they are coming from but we'll agree to disagree. It's crazy to me. My lawyer said that in the last few years apartments have become more aggressive about passing on costs to tenants moving out. BEWARE of this issue when making your decision about where to live. We lived at 909 during my intense cancer treatments (I'm a 4-time cancer thriver) and we were thankful for the reasonable rent during a time when I experienced huge medical bills. For that, I'm thankful. However, the 'bad and ugly' outweighed the 'good' in the end.
I lived here for 3 years. The place looks good but they definitely suck when it comes to customer service. The ladies at the office are mean and unprofessional. Since MGproperties took over a year ago it has been a disaster. If you paid your deposit to move in, forget about it. They will hit you with all kind of ridiculous charges when you move out and you will end up owing them money. All the people who used to live there for my 2 first years left and they were all complaining. DO NOT LEAVE THERE.
Property Manager at 909 West, Responded To This Review
Good afternoon, we are in receipt of your review. We are sorry to hear about your negative experience moving out. I would like to extend the corporate office number 858-366-6500 and would be happy to assist in resolving your concerns. Hope to speak with you soon. Kind regards, MG Properties Group
Charged me twice for rent and then charged me nsf fees when it was a computer error. They won't refund the fees. They seem nice but are clueless and could care less about helping you. Don't move here.
I have lived at 909 West for about 3 months, and love it! My friend at work recommended it to me, as he has had a great experience here as well. This community is welcoming and friendly. It is quiet most of the time, and I really like that the buildings are spaced relatively far apart for an apartment complex. The office and maintenance staff are nice and helpful. They seem to genuinely care that you like your home and listen to your concerns. Rachelle, Francine, and Vanessa have helped me with many maintenance requests of all varieties and have made sure I get a happy resolution on each and every one. MG Properties recently bought the property just before I signed my lease, and they have tried to improve every aspect of this place. I visited this property on and off for 2 months before my unit was available (under the old management), and I have seen the good changes. The landscaping, pool/spa areas, and way the assigned parking is handled has been greatly improved under their ownership. I highly recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a beautiful, friendly place to live at a reasonable price.
After seeing many bad reviews about this complex I began to wonder, however, I recently just moved here about a week ago from out of town and it was the easiest most stress-free move ever. The new management, MG Properties, are all very friendly, fast and efficient and VERY helpful. Especially being that this is my first place. The apartment is beautiful, there were a couple minor fixes that needed to be done and they had maintenance come as soon as he next morning! Super quiet, very kept up. Very happy with this complex, so glad we ended up picking this one!!
909 west is a good place to live. I loved our town house we had before we switched to a one bedroom in the same complex. Sometimes the people in the office are not good, but they changed everyone except the problem. The manager invaded our privacy and they forgot we had a second dog. Also their "safety patrol" is a joke. They did nothing in more than one occasion. I like living here it's close to everything and the apartments are nice .
The apartments are very spaciois for the price but that's about all you get. Once you are in help and need their assistance they only do the bare munimum. They have never gone out of their way for us at all. I have been to 4 apartments and this one ranks at the bottem. Yes it is big but it all comes down to service and they absolutely suck! I believe you should feel like it's your home and not some where you are just visiting. Yes I feel like a visitor in my own home. Ok passer through apartment horrible if your looking long term I'm out when my lease is up. This proves my fact I always see moving trucks here which means they have a big turnover. Check it out for yourself stop by one day in sure you will see at least one moving van.
This place was a terrible mistake to move into. There are many nicer apartments in the area and I moved in because the price was right. Unfortunately you get what you pay for.
I really like living in 909 West. From the office staff to the maintenance workers, they are always there to resolve the issue in a timely manner. I have gotten nothing but respect from them, which is hard to come by these days! I would definitely recommend this place to others.
I thought this complex was going to be a good one for my fiance and I. It was a bit higher priced and a bit further from the big colleges, so I thought it would be a nice quiet place to live. But I'm finding out I was wrong. If you have little ones that need their sleep, or you work shift work, or you are not fond of loud parties (even on Wednesdays!), then this is NOT the place for you. On the flip side, the maintenance staff is very good. The office staff is friendly and helpful. The limited security is a bit hit and miss - sometimes you have a retired cop, sometimes it's a timid young guy that doesn't like confrontations. Overall, I can't recommend this complex. There are some great people working here and living here, but there are "those" that mess it up for everyone and no one addresses it. You can find the same thing up on Baseline for half the price.
I lived here for a year and saw the name and management switch. The old management was much nicer when it was Tempe Groves. The 909 West Management is rude with customers. Upon moving out I was told there would be a walk through of the apartment and I could find out if I owed anything and that the last month of utilities would have to be paid approximately 2 weeks after the move out date which would be mailed to my new address. So, I called this place FOUR times trying to see if I owed anything and every time I got the same answer "it doesn't look like you owe anything"... that sounds real confident. And each of those times I told them my new address to make sure they had it. Well, here it is 3 months after moving out and here is a letter from CollectionsUSA saying I need to pay 26.00 to 909 West. Obviously, they had the right address and were just to lazy to mail out my bill that I have called and been looking for in the mail. So, I have to say these are some lazy people that work here and they are rude to deal with when you go into the main office unless you are looking to rent. Once becoming a resident however, you no longer matter and are not a priority. I would avoid this place at all costs!
I loved working with Casey in the front leasing office. She has made my move so much more enjoyable! The apartments are spacious with nice layouts. I love it!
