Property Ratings at 91 Fort Washington Avenue
I LOVE my apartment! Its in the perfect neighborhood. Close to public transportation and many local businesses. Everything is so convenient. Not only is the location great but the amount of space we have is great as well(which is hard to find in NYC)! Its a converted 4 bedroom and 1.5 bathroom apartment with a full kitchen and spacious closets. I am very lucky and consider myself to have won the "NYC apartment jackpot". A little backstory about the apartment and how I got so lucky.... After my grandparents came from the Dominican Republic and living in numerous tiny downtown apartments, they decided to settle into the neighborhood of Washington Heights where they found a spacious apartment to raise their 3 children. As a lot of New Yorkers know, you never let go of a great, spacious and excellent priced apartnent! So, after some years, the apartment was later leased down to my mother by her parents (my grandparents). And after 25 years, she decided to start her own family. My older brother and I grew up in the same apartment as she did! After 2 additional kids, my parents decided to move to another state, leaving their now adult children behind to be independent. Which in term, left my brother and I with the apartment. We now live here and have managed to still keep the same apartment within our family for about 50 years! Its been great to see all the changes the apartment and the neighborhood has gone through and I look forward to many more great ones.
My apartment is good enough. It is not going to blow your mind, but it is not going to leave you wishing you were homeless either. It has lots of nice stuff. It has a kitchen. It has a few flies. It has a sturdy foundation. My bedroom is fairly spacious, and there is a beautiful window-seat. I also really like the living room. Heat is more than adequate. It is difficult to cool down the whole place because it does not have central AC. Mailboxes are sturdy. Neighbors are responsible good people. Elevator works. Front door works. Nice long hallway; plenty of cabinet space and room enough for five people to live there! You should check out this building, it's rapidly becoming popular. Five people moved in the same day I did, and I didn't even move in on September 1st!
