Koreatown is a vibrant LA neighborhood fille with hidden gems, bars, eateries, and a collision of cultures. As the name suggests, the atmosphere in Koreatown is heavily influenced by Korean culture. The neighborhood is a favorite destination among foodies city-wide for its endless selection of authentic Korean restaurants, but the community has a much more diverse character than that: the broad range of cultural influences is exemplified in landmarks like the synagogue and contemporary art gallery of the Wilshire Boulevard Temple, the Latin fusion cuisine of Roy Choi’s restaurants, and the popular German/Korean/Hawaiian tinged gastropub, Biergarten.
Although the area is a hot spot for LA residents’ day trips, Koreatown is known as one of the best places to live in LA. Most locals rent their homes and enjoy parks, coffee shops, and stores within walking distance of their apartments.

Property Ratings at 951 S. Oxford
PLEASE READ I KNOW ITS LONG BUT ITS WORTH IT!!!!!! I have lived here for 5 yrs and am currently a resident. Where do I begin...when I moved here, there was no parking fee, a year after being here they imposed a parking fee, which was $2.50, not bad huh.. well that next yr turned into $25, and I now pay $60 and it goes up every year along with $100 in rent. The water is constantly being shut off for the day for some reason. The washing machines are barely washing, dont put too many items in them at once. And the dryers dont dry your clothes fully, and cost $1.75. The manager is constantly changing, and alot of them are rude. Every maintenance request takes at least a week to be fulfilled, sometimes longer. And in my opinion, some of the maintenance men stare at you uncomfortably and are rude as well with their responses. And will enter your apartment without you being there, even if you asked for that not to happen. They do have roaches, and now rats/mice running around the outside of the building. Probably due to the overflow of trash that flows to the outside of the building, especially on the weekends. They only have 2 large trash bins. And 2 recycling bins, for the size of the apartment it doesn't seem adequate. We have a guy who sleeps in our stairwell alot of nights, who is probably responsible for the outside door lock being broken all the time. The elevator is currently out of service and been for over 2 months. But management said it'd be 2 months for it to be repaired. So needless to say, in my opinion, I dont think it's ever going to be repaired. I'll update if I'm still a resident. It's never been down this long in all the time I've been here. They don't want to give you anything new, will always try and "fix" the existing problem. Homeless population is getting real heavy in this area, we have them camping out on our block sometimes, and surrounding blocks. We had a "gym" but when covid came, they turned it into an apartment. There's beginning to be alot of graffiti writing on buildings, including ours sometimes. Which they do cover up quickly, but some surrounding buildings do not. To give some credit, they do have people come clean the hallways/stairwells at least once a week, the keep the grass area up. They remodeled the courtyard, which looks nice. But the pool is a wading pool, not a standard pool. For the most part, the building stays clean. It's not too noisy here.
No parking anywhere around and if you get parking in building you have to pay extra just for 1 parking space. Neighbors play loud music. Water is turned off at least once EVERY week. No fitness center.
Technically it is smoking free building yet people smoke on their balcony and inside of their unit. When you complained to the building manager about the cigarette smell, she/he wants you to prove with pictures that the smoke is from the building. Although maintenance people come to clean the building every week, there are cockroaches at the entrance, elevator, and the floor. After a year lease, the landlord would ask you to sign another year or two instead of month to month. Pretty nice neighborhood just around the block but it is also a very busy street with moderate traffic. Tenants are usually cool and quiet. I would recommend this apartment for young couples or students.
This building is in the perfect location. This neighborhood is awesome and safe which is real important. You can walk to the store a few blocks away at 1am and be perfectly fine. If you like going out and having fun, there are plenty of places that are close for you to go to. LA Live is not far, the Wiltern Theater is up the street. Plenty of restaurants are in walking distance. If you are looking for a place right in the middle of all the action, this is it! Just please be careful while dealing with the management. No specific reason why. You would be careful regardless of where you intend to live.
