I tried to get in contact with the building manager to see an apartment and was instead essentially berated for "looking too soon" and told to call back in a week. In that amount of time, I toured four other apartments with the same availability as this building and managed to find one that works for me, thank goodness. Seeing the other reviews on this property only verified my experience. It's not an isolated incident and it's not appearing to improve, even after multiple reviews and months have gone by. From the way I was treated by this person, it made me think, "If this is how she treats applicants, I can't imagine being a resident here." Everyone else from KRC has been incredibly helpful and pleasant. I would recommend Kleinman have a conversation with this manager because she is driving away potential clients.
I reached out via Apartments about the studio listed as being available July 1st and got a call back from "D". Not only did she tell me I was too early to even think about looking for apartments despite the listing clearly showing availability in July (and I've toured several other properties with similar move in dates)she was rude, condescending and acted as though she was doing me a favor by even contacting me back. I have never been treated with so much disdain. I can't begin to imagine how the apartment is managed if even calling to inquire about looking at it has this type of response. Avoid if you have any self respect and don't want to be talked to like a pleb.
I reached out to inquire about this property because I am familiar with KRC and had a positive experience with them in the past. This quickly changed. I cannot give the name of who responded to my inquiry because of this site's terms of use, but the interaction went from unproductive to contentious. The backstory is that I will be with the Army over the summer, and my base is across the country. I have to be back in Minnesota in August to finish school. I was honest and upfront about my situation, acknowledging how early I was looking. I know I can't look at something that's available in August six months in advance, but I thought I could view whatever is available now and if something does become available over the summer - I can apply knowing I've seen something similar in that building. Apparently, this request was unfathomable. She made it clear that my request for a courtesy showing would be a waste of her time. For others in a similar situation, apparently, you should just lie because honesty is berated. I would just warn that this behavior may continue as soon as you've moved in. You may only get treated with respect if you're ready to move in. But once you're moved in and locked into your lease - you might be considered another waste of time.

We apologize for this experience and you are absolutely right that no matter when you are looking to move, we would be happy to show you an apartment even if your move date is in the future. This manager has been filling in for another manager of ours while he has been on vacation for the past few weeks. My assumption is that during this time, she has been too busy for showings for anyone that is not moving in when these apartments are available, since she has been filling in. But that is NO excuse for her behavior. She should have mentioned to you that the other manager is back within a few days and that she would be available after that time to set something up, or she could have found someone else to meet with you.
