Property Ratings at The Harbour Apartments
The roach infestation is still a thing. German cockroaches, not native Texas ones. Management drags their feet with any maintenance requests, and they are clearly not proactive about any maintenance to the apartments. Also unneccessarily difficult bill paying system. They provide an online system to pay rent, but not to pay utilities until the utilities are already overdue. If the online payment system exists AND IS ALREADY CAPABLE OF HANDLING UTILITY BILLS, then why would we not be able to pay bills online? Unneccessarily inconvenient. Also, the pool is only open during business hours.
Incompetent employees and non-responsive to messaging. Do yourself a favor and find a better place.
I spent my first year here. So far, I haven't experienced any major issues. As far as pest, there is some but manageable just like any other apartment or house. They do offer pest control. The management is nice to me. I like the amenities. The best part is it's sooooo quiet. I literally feel safe and don't always have to watch my back. My car never got messed with and my dogs love the dog park. However, Its sucks having your rent raised every time for lease renewals. As far as AC, I've never had a problem. A downstairs unit stays cool in the summer and cold in the winter. I hardly use my AC. I'd recommend.
I would advise my worst enemies to live elsewhere, because no one deserves to live in the cockroach-infested, poorly managed living space these people keep. I’ve had a hole in my ceiling — created by the maintenance crew — that they’ve left unfixed for more than a year now. Management is unhelpful with the smallest of questions and issues. Air conditioning systems and heating regularly goes out, and the maintenance crew can’t be relied upon to fix anything in a timely manner. Many apartments don’t even have overhead lights or fans in the bedrooms or living rooms, meaning you’ll be living in less luxury than most $30-a-night roach motels. LIVE ELSEWHERE!!!!!
I'm so pleased moving to the Harbour Apartments the management time is so courteous and understanding I recommend anyone to make the Harbour your new home
I wasn't quite sure what it was going to be like when I moved her because iv read so many distasteful reviews. But after living here about a month I'm so happy I made the decision. The staff is so Awesome I really like the girl at the front desk shes sweet and bubbly. Any time I needed something she was on it to help me. I have yet to experience any pest and to top it off the community really is a community. The neighbors all around me are kind and always being watchfull and mindful of others. They have put cameras beside the fact that there is a gate sometimes theres some dysfunction but its wifi we live in a area with bad weather!
This place is absolutely terrible. It is extremely hot in the apartments and the office refuses to do anything about it! My thermostat will read 87 degrees on cloudy days and near 90 on others. They will not provide me with their portable air conditioning systems simply because they stated my ac is working just fine. They stated that maybe I should just buy fans and that should fix the problem. Here I am 7 fans later and still hot! I am taking the time out of my day to tell you that if you love living in your own personal sauna then maybe this is the place for you. If you are looking for a cool place to beat the summer heat, then keep looking. The harbour is terrible.
After going to the office to complain about my ac not working, the office staff was rather rude in helping me find a solution. Now I stay in an unit upstairs (which wasn’t by choice) they told me that their is nothing they can do to help cool down my apartment. That I should be happy that my ac unit is cooling my unit down to the near 90s, because it is cooler than outside. Now every time I step foot into the office their ac is working fine. Then the had the audacity to act as if I was lying when it came down to me getting the unit fixed. So to sum up what I am trying to say is the Ac is terrible. Next, the whole apart complex is infested with roaches! You will send tons of money a month for pest control that you only see every so often. The gate outside the apartments will chose when it wants to work and when it doesn’t what to work! I have had the same clogged sink since I moved in, and not one thing has been done to fix it. The final straw, was when my car got broken into and the office just told me to be more careful.
The winter months are just fine, but when it comes to the summer time prepare for your apartment to get up to 85 during the day. The maintenance and management did nothing to fix the situation. They told me to by fans.
The Manager’s are VERY nice and helpful! This is my first real apartment by myself and she helped me with everything! The process was simple and didn’t take much time. The apartment is perfect for me.
2017: i have never felt the need to post a bad review on a business but i feel the need to prevent others from going through what I did. I had a terrible leak in my closet. my ENTIRE closet floor was soaking wet with a moldy smell. i told the office and a few days after they had my carpet shampooed. next month, and EVERY month following I had this leak in my closet (3-5 times total in a 7 month span). all they did to fix it was give me a fan and a carpet shampoo to cover up the smell but not fix the problem. I was calm until it happened two weeks in a row and the resolution they had was to shampoo the carpet yet again. I told them I would be moving out in two weeks when my lease was up and they could just wait on the carpet shampoo. when I complained about the leak coming back the office staff (I don't remember her name she was African American) treated me with nothing but disrespect and told me that it was my fault for refusing the carpet shampooing. I was shocked at the lack of respect she showed for me and the way that she raised her voice to belittle me. THE LEAK WOULDVE CAME BACK REGARDLESS OF A CARPET SHAMPOOING. I DIDNT HAVE A STOVE THE ENTIRE TIME I LIVED THERE. Chelsea assured me that they were going to order a missing part for the stove and that it would be there in a few weeks. I kept checking on it each week and each week she told me it hadn't come in yet. Finally, when my relative complained to them about my stove she was told that the part was NEVER ORDERED. so I had no stove for 7 months of living there. I had to run to my apartment from men harassing me multiple times. Once I had to frantically run to a neighbor's apartment because I was so scared. I told office staff so that they could tell other residents or maybe send out a letter and they didn't of course. When I moved in, it was a nonrefundable deposit that I agreed to. Yesterday I got a call from a BILL COLLECTOR saying that I owed the harbour $96 and if I didn't pay it would effect my credit. I received NO CALLS directly from the harbour ever. No letters from them either. The best part of this? They charged me for a drip pan for the stove that I NEVER USED. I wouldn't recommend these apartments to my worst enemy. If you enjoy constant problems with few resolutions, disrespect from office staff, and feeling unsafe when walking to your car this apartment is PERFECT for you. :)
I don't usually write reviews but I figure this could help a few people out. I have lived at the harbour for a year and a half. I thought this property was the perfect place for a starter apartment. The location was great, the prices were nice, the property was well kept. Everything went smoothly my 1st 6 months but I decided I wanted to try something new. Then I was informed there was a 60 day notice policy so therefore I was kinda stuck to renew or either be out of a lot of money so I renewed my lease for 7 more months. I was a little disappointed that they hadn't mentioned that prior but never the less it was I'm my lease. Although disappointed my experience at the property wasn't bad so I didn't mind much. Shortly after resigning my 2nd lease is when problems began. They would attach letters to my door with late fees saying I made a late payment , or saying I haven't made a payment at all when I had made payment that was not late either. Then I noticed they had attached the same notes on many of the residents doors. Residents were piled in the office angry and confused. (This reoccured every few months.) They also attached eviction notices on many doors a few months later. (Of course more anger and confusion) so I did not want to resign because of all the issues with the office management but reluctantly did because I figured they were just having a bad couple of months. I resigned for another 7 months only to continue to have the same issues plus more! They cannot keep a maintenance MAN let alone a maintenance team. So you can assume almost nothing gets done anymore! They use to keep the property very well groomed and the pool pretty clean, now it's only kept up every once in a while. It's nothing like it once was when I moved here. Also it's a VERY pet friendly property if you do not wish to be bothered by pets and don't want your belongs to be covered in pet fur I suggest you ask for an upstairs apartment because fur falls very often through the wooden flooring of the upstairs patio. You are also charged a monthly pest fee in which they do not supply treatment for. And last but not lease the head management that is over the harbour apartment property is VERY rude and disrespect and I will not be signing another lease with them. Sorry to drag this out but hoped this would be helpful! If you do want to try them out i recommend the 7 month lease you may be a tad bit more but it's worth it, if you like it you can always resign.
I've lived in the Harbours for almost 4 years now and I've really enjoyed it! The office staff is extremely helpful and always sweet. The maintenance keeps the complex very clean, and the pool area is great!
This apartment complex is one of the best I've ever seen. Although it isn't luxury, it has a homey feeling to it. Management is so involved in the tenant community, from planning events to actually reaching out to them to make sure their living experience is one they are happy with. It's a quiet, well managed and beautiful place to live!
The harbor apts make you feel like home.the office staff is very friendly and do there best to satisfy your every needs.they have very well landscape that is maintain beautifully. The fully equip gym is very nice inside workout area and is available 24hrs a day 7 days a week. They are also pet friendly for this and many more reason I encourage you to live there.
