Property Ratings at A University View
I lived here for 5 years for my Ph.D. at FSU and honestly, living here was the best. The room is spacious, the rent was affordable and Kendahl was an amazing landlady. I loved it!
I cannot recommend these apartments enough. I moved to FSU on short notice, and this apartment was a gift from God to me. There's NO way I could have found such a perfect situation on my own. Let me give you a few reasons: 1) The management is incredible. I have never had the privilege of living under such attentive and kind landlords. They are quick to solve problems (which are few and far between), honest and up-front about what is expected of tenants and what is provided, and, most importantly, are kind and genuine people. Honestly, I don't know that you will find apartment managers/owners that are better than the people here anywhere you go, Tallahassee or otherwise. If you're a student, you might think management is not that important. Let me tell you: good management is very hard to find and it makes a world of difference. 2) This location cannot be beat. You can walk to almost everything you need and save an amazing amount of money on gas. I'm able to walk to every class and to an awesome variety of food. Being across the street from the best breakfast place in town (Maple Street Biscuit Co.) doesn't hurt either! This is a great location for students who want to live alone or with one roommate, graduate students, and international students. There is some weekend noise but it is minor for a college environment, and the great location make up for it entirely. 3) I have had NO major problems with maintenance. In previous apartments, I have lived with more people and paid more rent and still had leaking ceilings, faulty appliances, and drafty windows. There is none of that here. The rent is low, and everything is kept in top-notch shape. I haven't even had a problem with pests or mold which, for Florida, is more than you'll get a lot of places. When looking at the different floor plans, I would highly recommend the renovated one-bedroom units. Living here is a no-brainer. The best location, incredible management, and well-kept apartments all at an affordable price make this one of the best decisions I've made since moving to Tallahassee.
I feel so very lucky to have stumbled upon this complex. Kendahl the landlord is always available, gives invaluable real life advice, and you feel like a better person just for having known her. She is a very savvy but fair businessperson. Guy is an incredible maintenance technician who is fast to respond, knows how to do everything from electric to plumbing to everything, and he goes out of his way to be helpful and kind. The apartments could be considered studio or one-bedroom and perfectly accommodated my husband and I and our infant. Kendahl had so much wisdom to share to me as a new mother, and when my baby pulled out her earring and spilled milk all over her office, she could not have been more gracious. The complex is so close to FSU that you feel that it is literally right on campus; it could not have been more convenient. Kendahl does a great job screening candidates, because everyone here is so drama-free, quiet, and respectful. The walls are nice and thick and you never have to worry about over-hearing your neighbors, and you feel especially safe in hurricane season. We did not lose power at all when Michael hit, while most of Tallahassee suffered. The closets are spacious, water is free so only one bill (electric), I especially loved the floor length mirrors for getting ready and the earth-toned floors hide furniture scratches and give a natural feel. Parking is on-site and easy to pull in and out. No one ever seems to use the pool and I don't know why because it is always clean and temperate and an absolute must have for our family during the summer months. Laundry is on-site which is so convenient. There is a bus stop right next door to get all around town, and for months we forewent a vehicle to enjoy the short, short walks to Chic-fil-A, Whataburger, Dunkin Donuts, Smoothie King, Publix, Target, Autozone, Benzo's, Panda Express, Zoe's, Maple Street, Zipcar, Thai food, Doughlicious, cell phone stores, nail and hair salons, kava bars, and many more. Kendahl really worked with us with our financial aid and was so patient with us. If I were a freshman going off to college I would think this would be the perfect place to start out. I could go on and on but the proof is in the puddin', darlin'. Kendahl and Guy are just good old-fashioned hospitality, amazing landlords, and I could not be happier with the experience I have had living here. Thank you guys!
I lived here for about a year and had an awesome experience and pleasure living there. I felt very happy that I chose this complex for my stay because the landlady (Kendahl) is very good in receiving & explaining me the contract details (NO hidden fees or application charges). The best part of this complex is its location-very close to FSU (Right across Medical School) and its bus (Right in front of the complex), dining (2 Min. walk), library services (Dirac, 5 Min. walk). The Tallahassee city bus stops, plenty of restaurants were a block away (2 min. walk) from the complex. The grocery stores like dollar general/tree, publix were at a walking distance. The place is mostly quiet and had stimulating environment for study. The apartments were very spacious with kitchen and bathrooms along with enough parking space in complex. The rent-included high-speed internet and the on-site laundry were additional advantages of this complex. During my stay, repairing requests regarding my apartment furniture like refrigerator, A/C were attended promptly. I totally recommend this place if your main target is to study and get a degree. The landlady even returned my full security deposit without charging last month rent even though I need to leave a month earlier than my contract due to my job commitments. She is not money-minded and mostly understands tenants and their helpless situations.
