Property Ratings at Abney Lake
As a young college couple looking for their first place, Abney certainly is a great pick. For students able to commute, the rent is extremely manageable and it's in a good location. The one-bedroom unit we got, 15-10, had every single thing on our list, and more! Even though you don't get to see your apartment until day-of, they are well maintained and very homely. Definitely a place we are looking forward to continue to stay!
Maintenance is great and that’s probably as good as it gets. The property manager is horrible. She always has an attitude and speaks to everyone as if they’re dirt. It’s not a safe area at all, they have cameras that don’t even work by the office but that’s it. So it’s not too safe in the back area. I’m a tenant that always pays rent on time, never calls/goes up there for anything and the 2 times I’ve attempted to have a conversation with Terry the property manager she’s just been extremely horrible. The maintenance team and the people in the office are extremely kind though. If I would’ve known I would be dealing with horrible management, I would’ve looked elsewhere.
We moved here in June. We have had a couple of issues but they have all been worked out thus far in a timely and respectful manner. Maintenance staff is amazing. They are here usually the day you put your work order in. We just had a "snow storm" and the whole maintenance staff was out before 7am clearing the parking lots and sidewalks. Definitely appreciated! #38-11
If you want to live in a tight knit family friendly atmosphere, then Abney Lake Apartment Homes is the place you want to be at. I have been a resident here going on my 5th year at this community. Family friendly atmosphere, children and pet friendly with no monthly charges for your fur babies. Office management personnel are friendly and kind and very helpful with all of your apartment needs. Maintenance personnel is also very friendly and very responsive to all of your maintenance needs. They usually respond the same day or by the next day after you report your maintenance emergency. So if you are looking for your new family, children and fur baby apartment home, then apply to have your new apartment home at Abney Lake Apartments where your neighbors are like family and friends. I have been here now for 2weeks & so far I can say its great. I have had a few maintenance problems here, but they have fixed them which is great. Your not going to found that no where. But other than that rent is affordable also. I do recommend living here.
Recently moved into a two bedroom townhome and I love my neighbors. The children are always out riding their bikes or playing at the park. I have seen no violence or heard any shooting since moving here. The bedrooms are big but the appliances are not new. Overall it has been a good experience.
Abney lake is pretty fair I should say. They’re currently raising the rent this year. After a year of being here, I’ve had kids scratch up my brand new car, fire alarms being pulled, and loud neighbors blasting music and arguing. They’re definitely not courteous to others. The office staff are fair but can also be rude, and maintenance is great, anything happens, they’re here in a flash. The apartments are roomy, closets are big, and have few errors but overall it’s a decent place to start with. Just make sure you’re aware of how money hungry they are. They made inaccurate late payments on us and now have forced us to resign their lease since no other place would take us.
These apartments are not the best but also not the worst. Our refrigerator drawers are broken, the kitchen window has two screens that won't close correctly. The tile in the down stairs bathroom is coming up, the screen door in the living room won't lock correctly. Our tub in the upstairs bathroom won't plug up with the stopper, the sink paint is coming up. And in the guest bedroom there is a spot on the ceiling where it leaks when it rains.
I moved to Indianapolis from a small city and didnt know anything about it i picked an apartment to move into after seeing a model apartment and my apartment wasnt what i excpected it to be. Things keep falling apart and maintenance isnt the greatest other then that its not too bad out here.
I have just recently moved in here, and there are some definite pros and cons to this place. First, it is kind of ghetto, with a lot of, um, "thugs" hanging around. I haven't had any problems with anyone here yet, but from growing up in the country, it is kind of a culture shock. Also the buildings, if they are older and not remodeled, definitely need some work. Like there are stains on the carpets and walls, light fixtures won't work, and the main door seems to always be mysteriously propped open. On the flip side though, the apartments themselves are really nice. My apartment looks like it was built yesterday, and there is so much room in it. Do you like closets? You better cause you have 4 of them, including the one outside. In a one bedroom. The main living area is huge too. I have some pretty good sized furniture, and i could get it all for, with room to spare. The office staff are actually pretty helpful as well. I had a few issues right after i moved in, and they were able to get it fixed pretty quick. i think one of the best things though is being right next to I-65. It's literally a right turn, and youre there. Overall, I think these apartments are one of the better ones you will find at this price. Decently clean, well lit, and lots of parking, at least where i live.
