Property Ratings at Addison at Swift Creek
I moved in November 2022, in December I started having mice problems. Since then to date today, maintenence put traps down, and have caught 12 mice. Holes were found behind the stove, the holes were covered. The mice is still coming in, and maintenence has not resolved this issue. For the amount of rent I'm paying this is unacceptable, and unbearable. I'm a senior with chronic health problems. This is causing undo stress!! I don't know any luxury apartments plagued with mice.

The apartments are nice. Newer appliances and great finishes in the kitchen. I’m on the second floor and haven’t had a problem with upstairs. They have a great gym and wonderful clubhouse. The staff works with you and are very pleasant. Maintainance has a quick turnaround and are professional. It’s mostly quiet with no true issues. The property itself is gorgeous if you truly enjoy nature. It is a great place to live and close to a lot of things like shopping.

Very diverse, convenient, overall attractive little apartment community. However, if you move here, ask for a top floor. If not, you could get very rude and loud, noisy neighbors above you who stomp, run, talk loudly, and drop heavy items all throughout the night while you may try to rest peacefully. Lastly, the stove...it is the cheapest, most flimsy electric stove I have EVER used before.

The model apartment looks perfect but the one you get is nothing like it. Moldy, dirty and gross. The office will give you every excuse in the book. I have stopped by there and they are not helpful. Rip off.

Apartment looks fine from the pictures but they are poorly maintained and built. They use cheap parts and will charge you for everything they can once you move out. Absolutely terrible.

This property is owned by one of the oldest property management companies in Richmond yet the staffing is like a box of chocolates as you never know what you’re going to get. I had the pleasure of touring with Laura, who demonstrated the best customer service and professionalism I have experienced these past few months of my apartment search. She took the time wo provide me with an exceptional tour of their model and the grounds before sitting with me to discuss the options available to me and my family. I brought my wife back for another viewing and requested Laura being told she wasn’t available however someone would be right with me. I then overheard a young blonde woman in the office complaining about having to deal with whom I assume was a resident. She was loud and extremely unprofessional based on my previous experience. We were then greatted by Mary who was courteous yet did not provide the same customer service as I was expecting based on my experience. I proceeded to ask who the young blonde lady was and was floored to find out she was the property manager. I have to say if I were Weinstein Properties, I would be embarrassed to be represented by such a less than professional, foul mouthed property manager. I called today in hopes to speak with Laura and was again informed she was no longer available and I assumed that meant she was no longer at the property. Well, Laura, if you see this please know you were the reason I would have applied and the property manager is why I didn’t apply. The world needs more Laura’s in this line of work and less foul mouthed and uncaring property managers as this property currently has. Best of luck Laura wherever life has taken you.

The grounds and maintenance are great here and it’s close to 288. (Which is important because it’s pretty boring around here.) The rent is very steep and goes up during renewal period. (No bother to them no matter how long you’ve lived here because someone else will just move in a pay the higher price.) Although the model/apartment is nice, you notice things after a whil. I have lived in other luxury apartment homes in major cities before relocating to Virginia and notice differences in price and materials. The renovation materials are a little on the cheap side. (‘Wood’ floors peel like a sticker, bathroom tub and caulking doesn’t hold up well, separation in crown molding...). I’ve had more square footage and more perks (internet/cable, water, garden tub, muffins/cookies in business center) for less than they charge here. Trash, water, and washer/dryer rental adds up when rent increases the way it does- especially when jobs aren’t giving pay increases. They add things no one really asks for, like a few garages and storage units at an additional cost. They also changed the look of the mailboxes and added a surveillance package locker system. Why??? Because going in the office to grab your package from them is a nuisance??? (I’m sure we’ll be charged for the implementation of it) The pet rent can also seem like a waste. The walls are thin and you can hear many things you don’t wish to from neighboring units and buildings. July brought a new property manager, Amber, and she could use some sensitivity training as well as an attitude adjustment towards residents who have been here for many years.

The grounds and maintenance are the best part. Upon moving in, everything is great- but hold off on your initial urge to give such glowing reviews. There has been high turnover with the office staff (someone's always "promoted") and among the residents here. I've been told that they are running a business (understandably), so despite rent increases, they will always have someone willing to move in once someone doesn't renew. They justify the increases with "market value, inflation, and what people are willing to pay to live in the area." This has caused many of my neighbors to move because the rent increases don't come with a raise from their jobs... Again, the community is nice, but the moving trucks here all the time explains a lot.

I overall enjoyed living here and the amenities available. I was able to enjoy the wonderful gym with media screens, the free coffee, the pool and the kiddy parks. I could never enjoy the outdoor grills because there were only two for over 100 occupants. Just recently they added more through out the community. They also added more outdoor seating. The gazebo also had two large TV screens for outdoor entertainment. We had a big issue with pet droppings every where. My child was unable to play in the grass and it was like dodging land mines when walking my own dog. The dog park was also full of dog droppings and I could never allow him to play in that space. I supplied my own dog bags and only had one spot safe for him to potty in. I had to drive to dog parks elsewhere to let him run around. I feel as if I wasted about $500 over 3 years paying for pet rent that was suppose to up keep these pet amenities. The rent is steep. I have lived in luxury apartments before but I noticed some price differences.Prior to this I lived in a gated community that provided free breakfast on Sundays and included cable, internet and water in the rent cost along with lots of other perks and it was still cheaper than this place. I would warn those to really read their contracts. Review your budget and plan for pricey upcharges when you renew your lease. Jobs do not give raises just because the landlord wants to up the cost. Their excuse is because of the accessed value of the apartments in todays market which means to me if I do not pay the cost and move then someone else will move in and pay even more. They do not care how long you have lived there. Your pet fee is not a deposit. That $300-500 is just to have your pets in the apartment. Pets will have accidents and you should save about $200-300 to pay for any carpet cleaning before you move out. The windows do leak due to the inability to properly manage temperature and build up condensation. This will then turn to mold. You will need to wipe down your windows often. I wouldn't tell anyone not to move here. It is a very beautiful community with lots to offer. I just want to give others the good, the bad, the ugly, the outstanding to be able to make a sound decision on where to live and spend their money. It is surrounded by lots of shopping centers, the zoo, the small children's museum and more. You should evaluate your finances first before making your decision.

I have lived at Addison at Swift Creek for 4 years and I am about to relocate. Before I go, I would like to say thank you to the extraordinary maintenance staff for your consistent friendliness. Overall the staff is pleasant despite the constant turnover in the office. Though I wish that they would continue the same level of service in the office as in support staff, my overall experience was good. As an elderly woman the little things like Lewis helping me with groceries and always taking my trash when I pull up to the trash dumpster are little extras that make living on property enjoyable. Thank you for the events and special things that are done for the residents - my grandkids love all the perks they get when they come to grandmas's house. I am going to miss living here .... thanks again!

These apartments are basically as advertised. The renovated space is nice and feels up to date and the community is nice also. Rent is a bit high in my opinion but other than that I very much enjoy being here and would recommend it to anyone. :)
I have been living here for nearly a year. The good: - The apartment is gorgeous and spacey. Two bedrooms, both with walk-in closets, and two full bathrooms. The bathrooms and kitchen were recently renovated. - Beautiful area. There are walking trails, a dog park, a play area for kids, a cook-out area, and a pool. - Close to everything. You are right next to 288, which can take you all over the place. The apartments are directly across from a Walmart and less than five minutes away from a movie theatre, Target, multiple grocery stores, and shopping/restaurants galore. - Excellent maintenance. I've had to call them four times since moving in. I always get a prompt response and solution to my problem. The bad: - It is a bit pricey. You definitely get your money's worth, but be prepared to pay for luxury apartments. - Since I have lived here, there have been car break-ins (unlocked cars), an outgoing mailbox was broken into, and the worst - a still-unknown assailant shot at an off-duty deputy. The deputy was not harmed, but the man still has not been found. While I have been happy with the apartment complex's openness (they send out Community Awareness e-mails) and their dedication to solving these crimes, I still feel uneasy at times. While the shooting is pretty bad, I have to be realistic and say that it could (and does) happen everywhere. You can find the nicest apartments in the nicest neighborhood and still have violence. Overall, I would recommend these apartments to future renters.
