Property Ratings at Addison Chapel
I never even wrote a review on an apartment before.. but this place I absolutely had to. I moved in almost a year ago and this place has been nothing but bad news!! I needed somewhere quick to move and I was referred by a relative after he had been living here 2 weeks before me!! These apartments have bed bugs, mice, and roaches!! I’ve experienced all 3 and have been living with them since I moved in I tried to break my lease several times, called the cooperate office several times complaining about the mistreatment and lack of communication with the leasing office staff.. not to mention I should’ve known they were on bs because they told me they didn’t receive my deposit when I first moved in then all of a sudden they found it, screens were out of my windows and still are that they never fixed from the previous tenants, my toilet kept running all day and night for a few months until they finally came to fix it, one of my main concerns was also that I have no AC!!! It’s been in the mid 80s low 90s all week and my heat radiators are still on!! They switched the dates for them to turn it back on from April 15th to May 15th with no warnings or anything! I had to call them and beg them 100x for them to turn the ac on and all they tell me is that it’s out of their control! Different staff members been giving me false information and beating around the bush since I been living here!! This is the absolute WORSE PLACE IVE EVER LIVED!! I will never recommend this place to anyone!! I’d rather stay in a shelter than to live here!! I’m a great tentant pay my rent on time and never complain! I’m barely home, but I won’t settle for the excuses when I can take my hard earned money elsewhere!! Apply at your own risk but I promise you that you will HATE IT!! To each is own tho!!
Ms. Johnson or the office staff there are very unprofessional and last minute. So many technical errors that didn’t even need to occur, happened. IMAGINE renting a truck for a day and not being able to move in!!!! Maintenence was supposed to have the room ready today and move in was for 2 o’clock like she stated; however, now we have to wait till Monday… Mind you, Ms Johnson called at 1:30 to tell us not to come. LAST MINUTE!
if i could give it -0 i would these apartments are infested they are nasty , the rental office neva answer the phone .. they would try to take you to court if you don’t give them money when they can’t evn answer the phone . they paint ova mold !! the ac/heat is ridiculous.. it’s a cool spot but it the worst of the worse !!!! DONT MOVE HERE JUS KEEP STROLLING TO SOMETHING ELSE CAUSE THIS AINT THE 1 OR 2 !!!!!!!!!
MICE AND ROACH INFESTED management is no help they do not care about they tenants save your money and do not move here ,, it is a nightmare!
The rent is affordable and it’s a good place to start. The rooms are very small, kitchen space is small as well, The other tenants are loud constantly, parking is ridiculous, and it’s gun shots in the area at least once a week. There are no cameras on the property whatsoever the front doors to buildings don’t require a key so anyone can get in.
infested with mice and the management does not care at all. heating and A/C Is a nightmare.
Never Live here it's bad service all around Just move in here in March the price is right but no worth the hassle. My husband and were lied to from day 1 before we moved in by leasing management. The apartment that we were originally moving into all of a sudden wasn't ready for us by the move in date that was given to us. So on move in day no one called us to notify us that the apartment wasn't ready so when we got here they give us a different apartment that was rushed to finish. The apartment was dirty and nasty with fresh paint and new carpet no one took the time to clean it. So before we moved all our things in I had to bleach out the whole apartment before I even bring my infant child here. But when you can't do no better people really try to take advantage of you if you let them. So now we moved in and it is one thing after the other water pressure low, leaking ceilings, power outages that last a whole night in just my apartment, mold in ac unit, bad customer service from leasing office, lie after lie and still nothing gets fixed now no AC and we are at the end of May so you know it's hot and I have a infant. This place I will not recommend for anyone to live here and experience what my family and I are experiencing. Read Less
I just moved in on the 24th the buildings are clean the area is secure with cameras, lockrd doors & the staff was super cool. Also Ms. Fields was very helpful, professional & classy I would like to thank Ms. Fields for being accurate and always responding promptly to any questions. You rarely meet people like Ms Fields I sincerely thank her and Addison chapel for making me comfortable and for my new home.
I just recently moved in and my experience so far has been excellent. Tiffany in the leasing office has been very pleasantly helpful in answering any questions or concerns I’ve had
If u love mice and dents and dings on your car this is the place too live
This place is quiet, not dirty(staff pick up trash, sweep & mop hallways and steps)and not bad for Capitol Heights(close to DC). My issues are limited parking so you have to park on street sometimes, sometimes people sit in the hallway to smoke weed, you can hear everything, the apartments are very small, people leave their trash in hallways, you can’t control your own heat and the rooms stay warm during summer Bc it’s one window unit in living room. This is my boyfriend and I first apartment so not bad for our first. If you looking for something with room, dishwasher, etc then go somewhere else.
Filled with mice and crack heads air broke fridge and stove ... Absolute worst place to ever live
The staff there are horrible and mean glad we didn’t choose these apartments smh.
I moved here a week ago and literally 7 days after being here I saw a mouse. The second day we saw two!! I am devestated because this has never happened to me. Who would think a week after moving in your apartment would have mice. I like my apartment because it is cozy how ever I am not paying rent to live with rodents. Since reporting the sighting of mice they have come out to exterminate and place traps which have not caught them yet but this is a disgrace . I cant evemn have visitors at my new home because I dont know when a mouse may pop out .
I have been absolutely disappointed from the time that I have moved in until now. The leasing office staff are very unprofessional & disrespectful. I moved in around March of last year and I have hated it ever since. The apartments are small and get very hot from time to time. I have a 2 bdrm apartment & what I pay for this shit apartment is not worth it, whatsoever. I went the entire winter without having heat. When I would call for maintenance to fix the heat it would always be an issue. During the winter I called in about the heat one day and they said that they will have someone come by that day and no one ever came and still till this day (although i no longer need heat) they still have yet to came out. When you lock your key in the house you have to wait almost an hour or 2 just for them to come and let you in the complex(thank god i have a car, because if i didn't have a car i would have been waiting outside at 10pm at night for 2 hours). The walls are thin. The apartment complex that I live in, I can literally hear EVERYTHING.. babies crying, babies playing, couples arguing, couples fighting, you can hear the TVS from the ppl that live down stairs and the people that live upstairs. Its no privacy. I don't trust the maintenance guys at all. I will not call maintenance for anything if I am not physically here to overlook them. I have a security system that comes with a security camera and I keep that recorded 24 hours a day because because that is how unsafe I feel in this neighborhood. I am more than excited to know that my lease is up, I'm impatiently waiting for my move out day. One day I walked out to my car & these little kids was outside with white out writing on the trunk of someones brand new car. It's a shame that thats what you have to deal with here. The neighborhood isn't a good neighborhood either, its to the point where police officers are constantly riding through the apartment complexes. Although the price may be "right" I promise anyone that is on the market for an affordable apartment this is NOT THE PLACE TO GO!!!! They deserve a negative 2 stars.
I LIVED HERE FOR OVER ONE YEAR. It was a terrible experience. We had a serious issue with bed bugs. We requested an exterminator which they charged us over $300 for and the issue was still not resolved. We ended up having to throw away all of our furniture. The leasing professionals in the office were very pleasant but don't let that fool you into thinking they are really there to help you. We had people who would smoke their cigarettes in the hallway, block the front entrance and smoke weed in front of the door. I had a newborn child so this was a great concern of which the leasing office did nothing about. Overall my experience living here was not so pleasant. It is great for someone who is looking for their very first apartment but the second bedroom is very small and so is the kitchen. The convenience of having all utilities included was also very nice. I can also say I did enjoy was the easy access to the metro. Just READ YOUR LEASE AGREEMENT THOROUGHLY!! Do not allow them to just skim over it without going over every detail so you can know exactly what you are signing.
My apartment complex is well kept. I love my apartment. I would rate it at a 4 star complex.
This is perfect building and quick walk to the metro, common area are well maintained and incredibly helpful.
This is the first place of my own. Not too bad could be better. Very clean and quiet environment. Decent size apartments and great rental office service.
Addison Chapel is what I can call home because everything seems just right here. I've been here for a month almost and my family loves it as well as my kids and their mom. No noise complaints, no problems at all. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED with everything you need close by you. ??
This is a small community and it really feels like home. Management and staff are always friendly and professional, I've had a few maintenance issues and always received service that day. This area of the city is not the best crime happens but management has stepped up and hired security guards to walk the premises, night lights are always working in each building and on the streets front entry doors stay locked and that makes me feel secure. its comforting to invited friends and family over and have a peace of mind that the community is well kept. I have been here going on three years and when I moved in I told my self I'll be moving when my year lease is up but my neighbors, and the quick access to highway 295 for me to get to work schools and shops are in walking distance along with the other likes mentioned above I can say I'm calling Addison Chapel Apartments home.
This complex is well managed and kept up compared to most. The rent is very affordable with all utilities included. However after rent office hours people hang outside. It's a fairly nice calm community. Especially for the area and the price
I've been living in this complex for over 9 years with both my daughters and so far everything is running well. It's clean, its family oriented, the community is very cooperative, the rental office do there very upmost best at making us happy and safe, and the location is convenient. Now for my apartment it's cozy, it's home and I don't really have problems other than the fall season pest of mice. But overall I like being here with both my daughters and do recommend those who are looking into living in an apartment to live here.
I have lived at Addison Chapel Apartments for over 10 years. The maintenance staff are professional and knowledgeable of the grounds and fixing any problems with your apartment. The grounds of the complex are so beautiful that it makes you think you are looking at condominiums. The leasing staff are very friendly and helpful also. I would gladly recommend living here.
Addison chapel apartments are affordable and the apartment sizes are adequate for what you are paying. The rental office is very good in their attempts to raise community morale by having different monthly gatherings. The location is also conducive to everything you need in a 10 mile radius. The maintenance is prompt as well as accurate. The application process is short and non stressful. You will have your apartment move in day by the time you leave the rental office. Very good school system in the area. All in all a very pleasant place to live whether you're single, have a family, or just looking for somewhere quiet to retire.
I use to live here. Now I want to come back home. I loved living here.
