Lack of management staff, thefts and trash throughout the building and parking garage, dark stairways with inoperable elevators and constant car breakins. Just a few reminders why shopping around matters and avoiding the ‘good’ rating makes sense for this ‘property’..better off staying at an extended stay motel..

I've kept silent, but today the employees here chose to be passive-aggressive. So now I'll speak my mind. I've lived here a couple of years. Since I've moved here, things have continuously deteriorated. The parking gate was broken for months. If you request maintenance, they take forever, then do the absolute bare minimum and refuse to actually fix anything until the third or so request. There's garbage EVERYWHERE. The employees can't comprehend basic communication skills. All their emails, when we're actually informed of things, are riddled with spelling and grammar mistakes, and contain disjointed and partial information. They throw events with free food like a giant corporation does to pretend its employees are valued. We are not valued as residents. I ordered premade meals, which I subscribed for and paid a good bit of money. The first week, the courier delivered the food to the Luxer One system here, I got the package immediately, and everything was great. Since then, the (new?) employees in the office have instead chosen to take these packages hostage and not tell me about them until they're ruined and dripping wet. After the first time of this, I cancelled the subscription realizing they were going to choose to be childish. They yelled at me like I was the problem, saying it wasn't their responsibility to inform me of packages and that food packages didn't go in the system which I was never informed of. Another package got sent out despite my cancellation, and they just stuck it in the Luxer One system today, soaked and rotted, to teach me a lesson I suppose. DO NOT MOVE HERE. This place is no longer habitable.

There's GARBAGE on the hallways, stairs, and piles of it near the trash chute and trash compactor. I saw a rat the other day going to the room where the trash compactor should be (not there for unknown reasons for several weeks now). The smell was disgusting. People throw away their trash in the hallways (despite management asking not to). There are several doors and gates (like the one to the parking garage) that have been broken for several MONTHS and they haven't been fixed yet. Management couldn't care less.
Don’t move here. Garbage absolutely everywhere and the entire building smells like it. Have had countless packages stolen. Dog poop and pee in hallways, parking garage, elevators, entryways. Management is not equipped to maintain the size of the building and the amount of residents. An expensive waste of money.
This place is a travesty. Management is insufficient, lazy, and simply doesn't care about your issues. It is hard to even get the office on the phone, usually you end up being transferred to Advenirs overseas call center where they have no ability to actually resolve your issue. The place is filthy, there are piles of dog poop in the parking garage (dozens) and sometimes in the hallway. The parking garage SECURITY gate has been broken for MONTHS and Advenir is too cheap to fix it, they are fine with letting random people wander in, potentially break into cars, and make this place potentially more dangerous to save a buck. The "Trash Room" chute is a joke and has an opening the size of a large book, so everytime you want to dispose of garbage be prepared to walk it down however many floors you live to the bottom, or don't and just add it to the already impressive pile of garbage in the trash room. If you live around the fountain prepare for the reverberations of random crackheads yelling at the top of their lungs to blast their way into your home, tobacco and weed smells, and helicopter buzzes semi regularly. And once again, don't expect anything but blank stares from Management.
I was told my rent rate and mystery charges were added and rent checks went uncashed till past due dates. No staff member acknowledges any issue beyond a post it note and a very unprofessional air in the office looms about. Unclean premises with unlocked gates and broken door locks and the common areas remain untended. There are better properties in the vicinity for less hassle and expense.
I have been living here for around a year and I can not wait for my lease to run up! The management is very poor and maintenance on property is poor.
I am a previous resident who unfortunately had broke my lease due to safety reasons. My car was broken into and stolen on a couple of different occasions while living in this building. I have been unable to retrieve any camera footage to provide as evidence, due to the cameras in the parking garage not working. Please beware that there nothing in place to help maintain your safety living here. The management company does not work with you knowing these circumstances.
My AC has broken 6 times in 2 months and takes at least 4-5 days for maintenance to fix it. Every time it has been out the weather has been over 80 degrees and I have a dog in the apartment - they did not seem to care either way. Would not recommend living here.
Awful customer service! No matter how nicely they sell the place to you on tour, rest assured if you have any major issue that arises they wont solve it for you. 1. GERMAN ROACHES! Yes and they would not offer me a different unit. 2. AC breakdown! They wont fix it until it is at least above 80 degrees outside (even 79 is not ok) The management will punt off things to maintenance, who will tell you how busy he is all the time. They only have one maintenance guy (Juan) who tries to fix it all. All in all, you dont feel like they really care about your basic needs.
Do not live here. Management is lazy and they don’t even notify or call if you owe a balance when you move out. The send you straight to debt collector. It’s an old complex, gym is small and never kept up. The fire alarm would always go off. There are so many other options that are better. Employees do the bare minimum. They don’t treat loyal renters who have stayed for years any better.
Very horrible customer service. My ac stopped working over the weekend. When I called the customer service at night (Jasmine), she told me they can only fix my AC as an “emergency” if the temperature is above 80 degrees. I ended up staying at another place. Called them next day when the temperature was 90 degrees and was told that it will be fixed. Drove back to check but it was not fixed. Opened another ticket with them. Called them after 2 hours, spoke to the same agent (Jasmine) to tell me if the issue has been fixed. I was told she cannot check on that for me and I could drive back to my place and check myself. Super unprofessional and unhelpful. The property itself is nice but spending a hot summer day without AC just because you are following “protocol” is purely negligent!
I do not recommend these apartments. The service is terrible. Current staff is consistently rude and unresponsive to concerns. They do not fix clogged toilets, respond to noice complaints, or fix broken AC units in the Alabama summer in a timely manner. Many people smoke on the property. In addition, cars were broken into recently and the staff did not respond appropriately. There are many other facilities in the area that are nicer and have friendlier staff. I highly recommend going somewhere else.
The security of his property is horrific! I have had my car broken into twice along with my roommate having their car broken into twice as well. They will not put up security cameras and anyone can access the parking garage if they follow in behind someone. The apartment itself is way overpriced for the appliances and carpet that is in the apartment. On top of the rent, no utilities are included. Depending on your location within the complex, some areas are extremely loud. The only positive things I can say about this apartment community is they have an amazing and friendly staff, and the location is amazing.
Luxury is only surface deep at Station 121. While the grounds and amenities are exceptional, safety and the apartments themselves are subpar. Numerous vehicles were broken into in the parking deck, along with reports of people 'stalking' the grounds. After living here for over a year I never once saw the courtesy officer, who should have been patrolling the grounds. Noise is a major issue as well. The concrete floors and open hallways tunnel the noise. Partnered with the constant construction in the surrounding areas there is never any quiet. The walls are doors are both extremely thin. Dogs barking is a constant factor. The small "fountain courtyard" is actually a smokers haven. Several different people spend hours at a time chain smoking, so be careful opening your windows or balcony. The maintenance crew is very responsive however they use incredibly cheap lightbulbs and the pendant lights must be replaced every few weeks.
We lived for 8 months in Station 121 in 2015 (it was called Cityville before), and it wasn't a bad apartment. The amenities were nice and the apartment has good build quality, but we had some problems that made our stay very unpleasant. Noise insulation on floors is really bad. We heard every footstep of our upstairs neighbours, and it sounded as if they were stomping instead of walking. This was aggravated because our upstairs neighbours liked to workout at home, even when there is a great gym on site. We had to suffer cockroaches for almost 3 months. The worst part was that the management talked down on us as if we had brought them. Later they told us that the neighbouring apartment was a corporate one, and it was almost always empty with trash in there that nobody came to clean. Well, good to know, but they damage was already done for us. The nail in the coffin was that after moving out we had to pay more than $100 in cleaning fees. Even when I asked them to come by and review the apartment before we left in order to avoid the fees. They sent me picture afterwards, and yes, there was some grease in the oven and burners. Exactly the same it had when I move in as that's almost imposible to clean, and so I didn't complain. I didn't expect they to use that agains us. I would like to see the pictures after they supposedly cleaned that, but those were not attached. Strange. I should have taken pictures of how the apartment was when I moved in, well, now I learned the hard way. We even had to clean the garbage disposal when we moved in as it had mold, I wonder what they do with the money they charge for cleaning. Anyway be sure to take pictures when you move in. All in all, if you live in the top floor and have the luck of not getting any pests, maybe it's not a bad place to live. I think we really had bad luck with our stay here, and probably other people are living here without any problem. It's a little on the expensive side for Birmingham, but the location is near downtown and Birmingham is having a reborn with a lot of new apartments and commerces being built in the city center.
...a few bad apples, residents, spoil this would be upscale urban oasis. People leave trash in the halls (which smells), parking garage (creating liter) and any nook possible (simply nasty). Plus, they speed through the narrow parking garage. Staff has to address issues as if this were a dorm with mass emails that are not professional yet necessary. At least the maintenance team is efficient. Tenants should be better screened or the professionals placed on one side of the building and party goers on the other side of the building.
I have lived here for a 1-1/2 years and I don't see myself moving anytime soon. The location is great! We walk to restaurants, bars, the farmers market, barons games, and work. The building is secure, I always feel safe, and the community is great! Resident functions monthly and friendly staff. Love it here. I would have given 5 stars but some of the parking deck lights have been out for a while and parking can get out of hand when functions are going on downtown. Would recommend to anyone.
