The historic neighborhood of Old Town is located in the North Side of Chicago, adjacent to Lincoln Park. Its buildings date back to the Victorian era, but the pace is anything but old-fashioned.
Old Town is lively both day and night – residents enjoy the cool, eclectic shops as well as rustic taverns along Wells Street. When you first step into the community, you’ll probably notice the iron “Old Town” sign. You’ll also discover the diversity here, both in food and culture. The comedy zone is a great place to go for a good laugh – check out the Second City or Zanies Comedy Club for weekly shows.
In addition to the eclectic shops along Wells Street, residents find comfort in the local market where they can purchase fragrant spices, imported oils, and blended wines. Many family-owned restaurants reside here - from pizza parlors to steakhouses and sushi.

Property Ratings at Affinity of North Avenue
Overall a great community. Management has really stepped up and taken the lead with issues in the building and has hosted community events. Great place to live and very convenient to public transit, grocery stores, and nightlife!
I been a Resident for over 10 years and it's a nice place to live and in a great location close to downtown.
I was told I had no appointment when I arrived. I was assumed to be low income and I am not. I never got a tour or an apology for getting a wealth of incorrect information.
DO NOT RENT HERE!! I’ve been living here over two years and let me tell you.. this place horrible. The front door to the building does not lock, so anyone on the street can walk right in. Our garage door was broken for MONTHS and what did the management team do? JUST LEFT IT OPEN TO THE STREET. Cars were broken into, packages are constantly stolen, and it’s just unsafe. Don’t bother submitting a maintenance request because no one will come to fix anything. I can’t wait to leave this dump.
I have been a resident here for over 20 years trying to move out now the building is under new management from the time I moved here the old company was good which was Renaissance north. this new company Avanath do not care about our safety nor our concerns. Doors be wide open to where anyone can walk right in come to the floors and twist our door and check to see who is door is open. I have had packages stolen from me which management seems to not care about as well. I have had my car broken into because the garage door was broken for months on in. The building have went straight down hill and is not clean like it use to be. The up keep of the building is not what it use to be. Run and save yourself the headache you do not what so ever want to rent from these people. And last but not least. The machine that we use to add money to our card was stolen and ripped right from the wall and management has not yet replaced it we have to wait for the office to be open to even add money to our cards so we can wash. Like I feel like I went to living in heaven to hell.
I’ve lived in this building for 15 years. The original company that owned it was so great. The building was sold to Avanath a few years ago and they are terrible. They don’t care at all. One example of many is that the garage doors were broken for months. So naturally they were left open for anyone to come in. And people did come in to check out the cars in the parking lot, Try to open residents doors. Thankfully nothing bad happened. If you do chose to live here LOCK YOUR DOOR, BE SMART, and BE SAFE.
I lived here- during that time I had our rent stolen and cashed, was double charged, had packages stolen, filed multiple noise complaints which were ignored, had multiple safety incidents where the police had to be involved, and had a less than responsive property manager. Please avoid the headache that this building is- has so much potential but the management is TERRIBLE!
I called one number and was given other numbers. One guy asked irrelevat questions. The next one asked the same and had to be redirected to the reason I called. Last, a woman on site was very over bearing and insulting about my choices. I could not communicate with these people.
