Property Ratings at Alcove at Seahurst
The assistant manager and the acting manager are terrible at resolving issues. They need to find someone could do the job better and who can resolve issues with the customer.

Rats. Roaches. Drugs. No parking. Overflowing trash. Constant police activity. Loud rude neighbors. Incompetent management. For the price it is absolutely ridiculous. RUN!

Hello, it's upsetting to hear that you experienced such issues! This does not sound like the quality we aim to provide all of our residents. We would like the opportunity to address your concerns. Please reach out to us directly at (206) 336-5716 when you have a chance. Thank you, and we look forward to hearing from you.
I am writing this review to share my disappointing experience during my stay at Alcove at Seahurst. Unfortunately, my time here was marred by a severe rat infestation in my apartment. I initially reported the issue by calling the apartment office not once, but twice, in the hope of a swift resolution. Despite assurances that maintenance would address the problem on Thursday, no one came to resolve the issue. This lack of follow-through and unresponsiveness from the management has been incredibly frustrating. The rat infestation significantly impacted my quality of life, and the management's failure to address the problem in a timely manner is unacceptable. I believe a basic expectation is that management should take immediate action to address health and safety concerns, but this was not the case. My overall experience with the management has been disheartening, and I feel compelled to share this honest review to highlight the need for improved communication and more efficient problem-solving procedures. Residents deserve a living environment that is not only safe but also supported by a responsive and responsible management team.

Hi Abebech, Thank you for sharing your experience. We are sorry to hear your experience living here over the years was less than positive! I'm not sure this issue was reported to previous management, as we have no record of it, but I wish you had come to us or put in a service request through the po rtal so that we could get this resolved swiftly for you! Nevertheless, we wish you all the best in your new home!
There is no security. Packages repeatedly get stolen and the night security patrol usually responds to the event after the police have arrived. There is no sense of security at the apartments and repeated complaints to management about the same go unheard. The rent amount does not justify the lack of facilities in any way. Would suggest new people looking to move in to stay away!
Property Manager at Alcove at Seahurst, Responded To This Review
Hello and Thank You for your Honest Review and Opinion. We have worked hard with the Delivery Companies to properly Deliver Packages. Sadly, we do not have much control over them. One of the best ways to prevent theft is to be signed up for Parcel Pending. If not, they can not leave it in the Lockers. Often, they put them on the floor, even though signs say not to do so. Our Courtesy Patrol is only to Observe and Report on our Behalf. They are not Security. We do take every complaint seriously and resolve as best as we can per the Local and State Laws. Currently, Burien is still doing the Eviction Moratorium. That hinders are efforts on some situations. As for lack of facilities, nothing has been removed from facilities. In fact, we have been adding items little by little. Improving Gazebos with Picnic Tables, Remodel of Fitness Center, and we have more coming in the future that will be some big additions. If you are willing, give Me a call to discuss issues. (206) 333-2520
The old saying of “you get what you pay for” fits with this property. Appearance: -Originally Alcove at Seahurst was a military barracks and that explains why there are so many apartment units spread out. Being that the buildings are old, you will find layers upon layers of paint. There will be insects! Using bait or sprays will help with that issue. The floors in the upper units creak loudly as you walk due to the age of the building. Most units will not have screens on their windows (those must be requested). Walls are thin, so you will hear your neighbors. Insulation was nice and the hot water lasts for less than 5 mins (quick showers are must and forget about taking a relaxing bath, unless you like tepid temperatures). The front of the property that faces the street is kept very nicely to lure future residents, but as you get further towards the back of the property…that changes. Inside the apartment: SMALL closet space in the bedrooms, no medicine cabinets in the bathroom, minimal storage space throughout the apartment, ONE drawer in the kitchen, in unit W/D, and average sized bathroom. No balconies or wood floors (some kitchens may have fake wood flooring). -Common Areas & Trash: the residents seem to throw trash everywhere & leave bikes/toys/grills wherever they please, grounds are cleaned once a week, trash overflows every week but is cleaned up on trash day once a week, unsupervised children screaming outside until about 9pm. The grounds are maintained as well as they can be, since less than a few hours after cleaning…trash appears. Have you ever seen someone throw a trash bag outside of their unscreened window or someone sleeping on the sidewalk? Well you will here. The fitness center is kept clean and sanitized. -Parking: 2 permits per apartment. Parking could be handled better by having some of the residents utilize spaces that are often empty towards the back of the property. If you don’t park in your assigned color, you will be towed. From what other residents have said, it will cost you $400. There is “overflow” parking available, but that fills up by 6pm. Neighborhood: the neighborhood is very diverse but the area is in need of a facelift surface-wise. The old bodegas and liquor stores will make you feel like you stepped back to the 1990s. There is constant noise throughout the day and most likely you will hear the banshee call of a homeless drunk, a lovers spat or endless police sirens.

My experience has not been good as a resident since January of 2021. They are reactive, not proactive, petty about parking, non responsive unless you complain multiple times. Worst experience I've had being a renter and I would not recommend anyone with class and wants a good home experience living here.

We appreciate your feedback as a new resident in our community. It is unfortunate to hear that you are dissatisfied with the levels of service you have experienced throughout your short-time here. Here at Alcove our motto is "Do you want to live amongst the trash, if so this is the place for you"! If you enjoy long walks from the highway to your home, walking past overflowing dumpsters and the 17 cars registered to one apartment, this is your place!! But in all seriousness, you'd have better accommodations living at a junkyard! They have this BRILLIANT parking system where they issue more stickers than their are spots! I think that's just fabulous! Want to have company? Pay for their uber! because they will get their car towed as well! Out of hot water? Boil it on the stove for a week and eventually the office will get around to fixing it. There isn't a rating low enough to describe this place! The staff is so unprofessional, the walls so thin you can hear all the dogs your neighbor has locked in a kennel, absolutely no parking and just an overall terrible experience! There is no accountability for the crime in the neighborhood but there is an ice cream man that drives around at all hours, so if you find yourself on the hike back from your car at least you can get a bombpop! If you have any ounce of dignity, please don't live here but if all of this sounds good go for it! I would rather live behind an abandoned applebees than ever live here again!

When setting up an appointment to move in or even signing a lease you are welcomed into the leasing office. The leasing office is clean, well staffed, and welcoming. However once you are a resident you must take all transactions through leasing services. Leasing services is on the other side of the building, has few employees (maybe 2), and terrible customer service. The only reason I imagine they separating the offices like this is to sell you the idea that it is nice to live here and you will get good customer service. Resident services also has the phone number for the leasing office (which remember is just for people who do not live at the property) at the bottom of their emails. This means every time you try to call the number at the bottom of the email you get the leasing office and have to ask to be transferred and resident services rarely, if ever, picks up the phone this way. Alcove at Seahurst Apartments in Burien has added locks to the front doors of the building which is welcomed. However, for my particular building they handed out incompatible keys and did not let anyone who lived in my building know. So when the management installed the locks I was unable to enter the building my apartment is in, even though, I was given a key for the building. When I had gotten to the office the employee stated that they already knew about this and gave me the correct key. I am from Ohio and I never had issues with landlords like this place. All I want to do is live in peace and pay my rent (which I auto pay every month). I'm also over paid rent and they still make harder to live here.

Roaches within a month of moving in and they are constantly spraying for them. We were told we would be getting a coded lock on the hallway door within the first 3 months of our lease...called and asked about it on month 6 and were literally told the curb appeal took priority over that. I swear the police are here constantly. Parking is almost impossible after 7pm. Sewage has backed up into our shower twice. Our apartment was one of the "renovated" ones, with EVERY outlet painted over/not working, staples sticking up from the carpet, no pad underneath, EVERY closet/cabinet door stuck with paint chipping off because they coated it too thick. Every hinge and screw painted over as well, shedding paint every time you open them. This place is a nightmare.

title says it all but since this has to be 50 characters yes it has an annual roach infestation despite the NUMEROUS changes in its name and ownership.

If you wanna live in a pile of trash and a roach infested apartment complex then this is is the place for you. Don’t get fooled by the office or the greenery in front the place is disgusting!
The apartments have terrible (which new management claims to be working on). It’s hard to find a spot past 9pm. Most of the units have cockroaches including my own. I’ve done everything to get rid of them (we keep asking to get sprayed but it doesn’t help anything). But, once they’re in the building they migrate from unit to unit. The units are tiny and there is little storage. Don’t get me started on the kitchen. The neighbors are always loud. We travel in pairs at night because it doesn’t feel safe to leave our unit. Garbage is often overflowing in the parking lots. It’s just a mess. Do yourself a favor. Keep looking.
I has really bad experience with new management regarding transfer.Online they showing us availability on July 7 but when I called they said it’s available in August and no first priority to the residents already living there,I told them 2 months earlier that I want to move out but they making us fooling every month and charge extra 150 bcoz apartment is not ready.Even they have no good parking lot, management very rude, big liers.

There are better places for your money. The apartments are run down because the previous owner did not care to fix anything. An old military housing complex, turned craphole. They constantly need to do work inside your apartment, will enter with no provocation. The kitchens are too tiny to live, the old heaters give off a horrid smell. The parking situation is ghastly. They were supposed to add assigned parking spots months ago. They only managed to trick us to come in with a $99 deposit. And now that they got us, we're at their mercy. The staff do not care about their tenants, and see them only as a paycheck. Will not compromise and give you excuse after excuse so long as they don't have to help in any way. Steer far away, because as soon as we can, we will be too.

Please contact us at 206-366-5716 so we may learn of ways to enhance your living experience with us. We are here to be of service.
The rent is cheap here, it's really not all that bad for what you get. Though the apartments are small and their two bedroom is more like a bedroom and a half really. Parking is also terrible, they give you two spaces per apartment but you can rarely find anywhere to park if you happen to come home any later then 7. Also, we ended up with bed bugs which we had never once had before and didn't find anything that could have brought them in. The exterminator they brought in didn't even come back for the two week check up either. The neighbors are also loud and rude, as well as their children and security nor the land lords really do anything about it expect talk to them. If you're looking for a place with cheap rent and small space with a lot of downsides this place is for you.
