The Village is a predominantly residential neighborhood about seven miles east of Downtown Winston-Salem. The Village offers rentals for every budget and style including single-family houses and apartments. The Village has a few businesses, but department stores, restaurants, and shopping centers aren’t far from the neighborhood. Along with plenty of amenities nearby, renters are attracted to the Village for its proximity to several colleges. The Village is convenient to Forsyth Technical College, the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and Winston-Salem State University, which are all under nine miles away.

Property Ratings at Alder Ridge Apartments
I am currently still in my lease and will be running not walking out of here when it’s up. It is not what it seems vehicles are broken into on the regular and the office does not care there are no security systems to prevent any of it. There was a shooting the other night and you hear gunshots on the regular for the rent to be as hefty as it is. Highly consider something else. This should be a last resort.
It should have been obvious when first visiting the property as the woman in the office did not have time to focus on renting. She was abrupt, unfriendly and as we were to find out later, perhaps clueless as to the process of renting and requirements. From the first day we brought back items requested and she would call back and request one more item. It was as if she did not really know what was needed for you to rent from the apartments she is representing OR was intentionally dragging out the process. On the fourth day she called to request one more item. It was our decision to stop the process and find an apartment complex that was actually interested in renting and knows their agency's process as well. Harvest Properties that own Alder Ridge have a "D" rating with the Better Business Bureau. My assessment is she represents the "D" rating well and potentially falls into the "F" category!
This will be long, but please take time to read this before moving in: Just a quick summary of our time here: -Our first day here, a guy threatened to shoot up the neighborhood. -Our first night: I hear the doorknob jingle -The second day: a cop came up to me asking about a car that got broken into -Our second month: A car had a hit and run with a parked car in the middle of the night and the parked car stayed smashed with the pieces all over the road for multiple days. -Constant burglaries -Multiple cars a month getting their windows smashed -Our apartment fills with the smell of **all kinds of smoke** everyday. -Now we have to go to work smelling like that and our furniture all smells like smoke as well. -Outdoor parties that trash the place. -K9 units in the middle of the night. -Gunshots -Sounds from the interstate loud and clear -Maintenance won’t fix things that were in the apartment when we signed the lease because they said because they were installed by previous owners (but we signed our lease renting the unit with it in there...) -Dumpster Fire -You can hear entire conversations of neighbors -The units are somehow connected with open connections- so we constantly smell the litter box of our neighbors. -The straw that broke the camels back: our car got broken into. Now we have to pay the next two months of rent even though we want to move out now. They require 45 days and if that falls in the middle of a month- they don’t pro-rate. Corporate is unreachable and the front office won’t help. Still want to live here? Maybe spend the extra hundred dollars and find something a little safer. Keep you and your loved ones safe. The investment will pay out in the long run.
The neighborhood is quiet and the inside looks great. The problems that I've had is that my apartment was broken into the first day, the toilet is loud, I'm not sure what thing in the closet is but it makes noise throughout the day, and the water drains slow. Besides my apartment getting broken into this is a good place to stay if it's your first apartment. It doesn't look bad but you can tell that the apartment is old but remodeled. Last but not least, the employees here are really friendly.
Amazing staff that is very enthuastic about their job. Very lovely pool. Close to the 40 and a lot of shopping areas! A few things were broken in the apartment but maintenance quickly resolved the issue!
Nice apartment great pool stuff if friendly and price is good for apartment complex
This apartment community is great! I moved in a week ago and have enjoyed my stuff so far! The grounds are well maintained, the front office staff goes beyond the call of duty to be as helpful as possible. I am right around the corner from the mall which is where I work, and right off of Stratford rd. So I'm not far from anything I need. The atmosphere is beautiful here! Pretty quiet at night, other than the sounds of tree frogs. But all in all I am more than satisfied with my decision to stay here.
