Property Ratings at Alexander Place
I currently live here. I am a UC student & Iva (one of the landlords) is manipulative. Aiden however is pleasent & beyond helpful! I had been requesting a copy of my lease for months, but I had to get it from Iva. She would not answer my emails, calls, or texts. I was unsatisffied withy living conditions. The space is too small, too expensive, and not enough space. Plus I've had problems with my shower that took weeks to fix, my apartment smells like mildew. I'm pretty sure somebody had bed bugs here a few months ago. I was fed up & am in the process of applying for a new apartment with another company. As a result, they had to call Iva to verify that I live there. Ironically, Iva calls me. I figure this is what it's about but it's not! Apparently, there was an issue with my rent from November & December so I would owe the money that was short plus late fees. Iva was nice, told me she'd take off some of the late fees. It was all good, then she tried manipulating me into writing a positive review. She said, "since you've had such a pleasent experience & I've been so helpful you should email me a review of how great it has been living here" I told her I didn't have time tonight because I had homework due. She said, "hm *long pause* I made time to waive your fees... I guess you can just pay everything" and then when my roommate called her she told her a completely different story! She's crazy, spare yourself please.
The information available on the website was limited and gave very little information about rent, properties, or availability. To get more information, I called their phone number as given on their page. I was greeted by a woman who was entirely unprofessional, angry, and downright rude. Having absolutely no specifics, and having just spoken to a half dozen other complexes, I had hoped that she would explain to me how their process worked, what the availabilities were, and a general overview of the costs involved and locations. What followed was the most disconcerting, off-putting conversation I have ever had with a leasing office in my life. Before she would tell me cost ranges, general details about the apartment, and where it would be located, she needed to know specifics about the renter's profession, the company they worked for, what they would be doing, the budget (but when I wondered what the general range was, she snapped out, "I need to know what your budget is because we have apartments that are 2500, 3500 so I need to know."),where the company was located, and the renter's age. When I responded with mid twenties, apparently this was not detailed as she practically yelled: "You know I've never had a conversation like this before, this is ridiculous, it's like pulling teeth with you! I don't care about your life, I'm not at all interested in it at all, I just need these answers to know if there will be any roommate openings." When I hesitated again, since in the thirty or so conversations I've had with leasing offices I've never had someone be so rude to me or be so against giving me information on the property, she sighed loudly and told me to just have the person interested in the apartment call because I "clearly [didn't] know anything." Disgusted by her attitude and apparent inability to just give general information about the company, I informed her that I'd just pass along her contact information to the person and hung up. I don't know what Premier City thinks professionalism is, but this was not it. A successful business is not run by treating your potential clients like recalcitrant children throwing a tantrum on the mall floor. I do not recommend this business at all. Because of this person's rudeness and evasiveness, they have lost not only one potential resident, but any that I meet. If I cannot trust the business to give me information about their property, how can I possibly suggest someone sign a contract with them?
