Property Ratings at Alight Fayetteville
I have had nothing but awful experiences here at Alight. Where to begin… Maintenance is tasked with cleaning the compactor nearly every day which leads to requests taking forever to be completed. The property allows the residents to pile up their trash outside of doors/ the compactor rather than enforcing any kind of cleanly solution. This leads to a constant unfathomably bad stench, homeless people digging through the trash at times. Speaking of homeless people, there is a house across the street that has dozens of homeless people coming in and out. They have taken steps to try and correct this, but it is not perfect and there are still present and real safety concerns if you do choose to lease here. The only method of communication that I have found to garner timely responses is public criticism (reviews, comments of posts). Emails go unanswered for days, or weeks. Calling and giving/receiving information results in a “he said she said” since no details are recorded from the conversation. Onto the amenities, I haven’t used all of them but the ones I have are lackluster and disappointing. The gym is grossly subpar to any other options if that is important to you. I’ve gone to the dog park, neither of the 2 gates closes properly, there is not a dog waste bin any longer, so there is poop all over the incredibly small fenced in area. This is not a good location for pets even with the larger than average rooms. I only lived here due to the incredibly low price. Since they are trying to charge as much as other leasing locations, I would steer clear of this property at all costs.
I love it here and since I study a lot the study rooms are great and very quiet. The staff is amazing and very respectful.
They are fast to help out and fast to respond to emails.
Like most, I signed at Varsity House since it was the "cheapest in Fayetteville." The 10 dollar price difference is not worth the headaches. Parking is a nightmare; management has no understanding of pricing and are wasting half of the parking lot on premium parking no one pays for. The property is extremely dirty and aside from the occasional "you will be fined if you leave your trash outside" nothing happens. People don't pick up after their pets, the walls are extremely thin, there are no ceiling fans so unless you have one you will constantly be uncomfortable. The mattress my room had was akin to a prison mattress, extremely thin and firm. There have consistently been bugs in the property. I will say the new management is leagues better; yet they still haven't fixed the strobing parking lights. Sign a lease anywhere else, if money isn't a problem go to Hill Place, the low price point is not worth the struggle and you will end up spending that money back on random moving fees and penalties management springs on you.
I chose to live at Varsity because they always offer the lowest rates and have the biggest apartments for students. I love living here because the staff is always so helpful and always have a smile on their faces!
