I am a current resident, there is a reason this place has so many open apartments right now. Management is poor, to say the least. The employees have no accountability and act like you're bothering them every time you go to ask a question. They had one good office guy that actually cared about residents, he left so now it is all crabby ladies who can't be bothered, including managers. If you don't live on the top floor you can hear every footstep of the occupants above you. Maintenance is a joke, requests take weeks to fill. Not to mention that when you submit a request, that gives them free access to your apartment and they don't provide any notice to the resident the day they're coming. Not a good experience to have someone unknown in your apartment when you come home from work, especially when a work request was filed 2 weeks prior... All goes back on management, but like I said previously they have terrible managers who have zero accountability just like their employees. Looking forward to moving after my lease is up.

Worst management, dog pop every where ,they get false positive reviews. The truth is for most high rent in this area ,this place is full of dog poop everywhere, people who leave their dogs without leash, breakin in cars and apartment. Can't wait to get out of this place.

3rd management team since I have been here 3 years. Started out wonderful. Then major crime, break ins, cars broken into, pool is disgusting. New management can’t keep maintenance people. They all leave! They admit to hating management!!! No one returns calls, security “officer” is only here to report cars to be towed. She does nothing else. There are 12 visitor parking spots on the whole property. Residents not on the lease park there, or residents that are do. They will tow. It is impossible to have guests. Dumpsters are disgusting, trash overflowing into the driving area of parking lot. Recently had a dumpster fire. Trash everywhere! Management has no regard for residence, just money. Gates always broken, both drive they and walk thru gates. I’m embarrassed to have people visit. Couches and mattresses at dumpsters that never get picked up. Mold everywhere! I have asked them to power wash for 3 years, never happened. Plus hwy 6 gets shady. We have had homeless ppl camping out inside

This apartment is one of the worst. Luxury? I dont think so. No enough parking space for the visitors, there’s only 3 spaces nearest to my friend’s unit and their residents are the ones filling the spaces. We checked the others which were far away and filled too. Where else can we park? So we parked on the resident’s parking which doesn’t have a signage. We thought it was fine to park. After 20 minutes of parking there, our car was towed for parking without permit! OMG! The security gave us a list of violations to get towed but it didn’t show on it for cars without parking permit. And was told there was a small signage before you enter the gate. You can’t even see the signage because it was too dark and couldn’t see the signage! Terrible complex and not should be named a luxury one. They would get a lot of money from you! I know a lot of friends who are planning to transfer in Houston and i would not recommend this place! I visit a lot of apartment complex since I’m a visiting nurse but this is the only luxury complex that doesn’t show enough signages! This is a warning to all who are planning to stay here, this is not a visitor-friendly place! I would put zero stars if I could!

I love the complex! I performed my apartment hunting in the area in 2 days and I felt in love with this place. People in the leasing office is awesome, they are very kind and professional. The apartments are very nice and comfortable. Perfectly located! :)

They have a new management company and they are horrible. They charge so much money for everything but when it comes to spending on residents , they are very cheap . I really missed Elain company!!!!!!!!
Units have open floor plan and very spacious. However, no playground for the kids who in turn play in the streets or on the picnic tables and in front of apts throughout the day. No one uses the dog park so best not to walk on the grass...ever. Valet trash service offered for pick up at night but residents leave out multiple bags of trash throughout the day for all to enjoy the view and smell in the Texas heat. Cell phone coverage and internet is weak. AT&T is the only provider. Will need to take most calls outside. Had a roach problem like most residents when I moved in. Can definitely hear your neighbors through the walls. Especially when they throw house parties on the weekends. Don’t recommend this property at all. Too many nicer apts in the area.

I have lived here for a year now and I'm happy to say I will be staying for at least another year. The community and units are nice and quiet. Utilities are minimal. The Bark park is amazing with tons of other dogs to play with. The amenities with the pool, pond, fitness facility, game room are as good as they get in an apartment environment. I can't say I have any negative experiences in my year here. You can't ask for a better team in the front office. Any time I had a question they were available to help and there is always someone at the front office. They sit down and listen to you without trying to rush you out of the office. I'm looking forward to my next year in the community.
This place has turned out to be a total disappointment. I moved here September of 2015. The Manager and leasing agents were extremely helpful and despite a few bumps in regards to the condition of my apartment, things went smoothly. Fast forward a few months, manager changes and shortly after that new faces in the leasing office. There is a drastic change in customer service from the front office. Some examples of issues, gates don’t work for over a month, supposedly due to a “lightning strike.” Submit a work order to have battery changed in beeping smoke detector. Gets marked as complete, 3 am same night, starts beeping again. Community policy says to put your trash out between 6-8 pm, trash pickup starts promptly at 8. Go to put trash out at 7:30 and they have already passed. Management has been made aware of concerns, will respond to emails but no actual improvements are made. My most recent issue with them has to do with the gate access devices. I live alone in a 2 bedroom apartment and have multiple vehicles. I was told that I could purchase an additional gate access tag for $50. This is how my lease words it: Remote control for gate access. Each person who is 18 years of age or older and listed as a resident on the lease will be given a remote control at no cost to use during his or her residency. Each additional remote control for you or your children or other occupants will require a $50 non-refundable fee. I was informed that I could purchase an additional tag, so I did. 2 nights ago I came home and my gate access tag would not work. So I went to the leasing office today and was told that I was not allowed to have 2 tags and I could only purchase a replacement if mine had been lost or stolen. Mind you there is a separate paragraph on the addendum in regards to a last/stolen access tag. The above paragraph makes it clear that an additional tag can be purchased. I pull out my copy of the lease agreement and go back to the office, the leasing agent tells me that “I do not understand the context in which that paragraph is meant.” I was genuinely confused as to how I could be misunderstanding that paragraph. It was pointless to continue arguing with her so I left. The point is, they really don’t seem to care anymore. The atmosphere here has changed drastically. There was jut a shoot out in front of my building at 3 am on June 14th. They seem more concerned with filling apartments than getting quality residents.
I have stayed on the Elan at Briar Forest for 9 moths and love it the unites are well design, the amenities on the unit as well as the community amenities are excellent. The management staff are nice and helpful. The service team took care of my requests within 24 hours. In my opinion The Elan at Briar Forest apartment is a hidden gem on the often busy energy corridor.

The apartment is huge for a one bedroom. Very spacious. The leasing office is beautiful and so is the pool and other amenities. The people are very friendly and the staff is always there to help. The maintenance is done on time as well. The community over all is very good.

Beautiful unit and common areas. Our truck tires were stolen overnight and it was up on blocks. Security was not making hourly rounds and no video cameras after front gates. Management was rude when we brought it to their attention. I would have appreciated an apology and reassurance they would step up security but I must live in a fantasy world to expect a little empathy when theft occurs. Maybe if the $5k came out of their pocket they would feel differently. It seems irresponsible to leave security gates open over night and not inform residents. The apartment below us had their truck broken into and another unit was broken into during the daytime. We received an email from management to be cautious and in particular to not walk alone in the complex at night. There has been a high speed chase which came from highway 6 through our fence and around the complex. The families that hold pool parties often have 20 people and refuse to share the grills. A lot of people utilize the pool that do not live here. Last week a suburban pulled up and unload a car full on young kids, I watched as they came right for the pool. The large groups always expect you to let them in the gates, which given the recent thefts is less than ideal. The large groups rarely watch their kids as they run around and swim. One Friday evening a group under the cabana began cussing and throwing cooking utensils at another resident. Also, heard of residents having crazy ant/ raspberry ant infestations that come through the baseboards/cracks in the floor. We do like Latoya and Luis at the front de sk, they have been friendly but their management is quite different. We are looking elsewhere once our lease is up.

I've been a resident since January 2015 and couldn't be happier. The staff are always courteous and helpful, and the grounds/amenities are very well kept. The valet trash service is such a great convenience and pretty much eliminates pesky pests. I wish they had a play area for children, but there's a large park nearby. The units have great finishes and are insulated well in the fact I don't ever hear my neighbors. I've lived in several communities in this area and am happy to call Elan 'home'

I live a Elan Briar Forest and it is amazing! From the time you come visit the first time to move in then living has been a great experience. First when I came to visit I was instantly greeted. Just as I am at all the apartments that I visited, however the staff really took interest in my needs and didn't just show me their model, but showed me the different locations on the property. Then, once I selected the location I wanted it was seemless to get the paper work started. Everything was completed online and I did not have to come back and forth to get everything going. The staff called me if they needed anything else and would let me know of the status during the process. Once it came to move in time they had everything ready for me. They gave me a Welcome bag. The Welcome bag had my keys, a screw driver see, pens, and my signing bonus surprise which I will remain anonymous as it may change for each residence,however I will say it is valued at $200. It was just a little extra that made me happy. Anyways, after moving in I have been very pleased with the property. Let me say you must check it out in person. At first sight you see the stunning lake that surrounds the property with the awesome pool that is in the middle, it sits like a peninsula. The pool area has a glass gate around it from where ever you sit you can see the lake. The amenities around the pool include 4 large out door tv's, 2 large gas grills,and a fire pit.The gym on sight is very useful it has tons of weights and treadmills.Not to mention it has a kids play room for parents that want to work out and make sure the kids are safe. The property has an on sight stand up tanning bed. Oh and in case your a busy hard worker and do have time for dry cleaning they have on sight drop off and pick up. What really makes the community enjoyable is that everyday around 6 or so you will see the community really out and active. The families are walking out playing with their kids, the young (20-30 year olds) are out walking their dogs or taking a jog around the lake then hitting the gym. I really like the active community, it gives you a chance to meet people and know that there are actually people living here. One of the best things is that the Apartment has activities going on regularly such as a weekend brunch once a month. If you are looking for the comfort of home and luxury then this is your new home destination.
