Before making the decision to move into the community the office was always closed. However, Diana has been a big help in making the process simple, and efficient. But why is there a $70 trash fee if Im taking my own trash out. Dumpster cost that much? it's insane.

These 3 years at Alister have been wonderful. The location is the best and it is walking distance to many restaurants, venues and museums. The maintenance team is very prompt. I love the coffee machine in the leasing office.

The management is lovely and listens to all of your concerns. The grounds are maintained well and fix issues quickly. However, I would caution that it’s not the safest location to live in (to no fault of the complex).

I’ve been a resident of Alister for nearly 3 years now. It’s a relatively quiet neighborhood in a great location! It’s a 10 min walk to spectrum center so it’s great if you like to attend concerts and hornets games. Amenities are great and the staff is so nice

Apartment is a great location and walking distance to the city but feels slightly less busy. So far the apartment itself is great, the maintenance are friendly and helpful but the office staff are difficult to get ahold of and frequently aren't around to help.

Alister Uptown in Charlotte is pretty sweet if you're into the city vibe. The location's on point - you're right where the action is. They throw some cool community events too, which is great for meeting your neighbors. Heads up though, if you're not a fan of noise, the bar downstairs can get pretty rowdy late into the night. Might want to invest in some earplugs if you're a light sleeper! The maintenance folks can be a bit slow sometimes. You might need to bug them a couple times to get stuff fixed, but they'll get to it eventually. All in all, if you're down for the bustling city life and don't mind a bit of noise, Alister Uptown could be your jam. Just come prepared with some patience for maintenance issues and maybe a white noise machine!

I really enjoy living at Alister. Although it’s not an abundance of resident activities and amenities, the ones that are available are personally just enough. The fitness center is probably the amenity that I utilize the most. It would be nice to have a smith machine or squat rack in there, but the dumbbells go up to a reasonable weight and there are a good number of machines that allow you to hit muscle groups from multiple angles. I’m a regular in the leasing office for free coffee (lol!) and every time I go the ladies greet me with a smile which is very comforting. My building is relatively quiet and my apartment is spacious enough for just me. The maintenance team is also stellar. My requests are usually always addressed either the next day or the day after next. My only gripe is with the parking on the weekends. I’ve had a tough time getting visitors a parking space, but I rarely have multiple guests over so it’s hardly ever an issue. I just re-signed my lease for my 3rd year. Cheers to good ol Alister!

Since day one, I have had an amazing experience at Alister Uptown Apartments. Diana, the BEST leasing agent, has been helpful since the beginning and is still making sure that I am up to date and cared for. She made every part of finding, touring, and signing for an apartment a breeze and not the least bit stressful. Even while renovating, this building is quiet and clean. The other residents are friendly and courteous as well. Love it here!

All of the staff was extremely helpful and responsive during the application process. Made the move in process painless and effective. Had a small issue upon moving in and maintenance was able to fix it within 24 hours.

I absolutely Love living here in The Alister Community. Every since Mill Creek has taken over it has been the best living place I’ve had here in the Charlotte area. Also with the help of Diana in the front desk and Thomas and Ant with the maintenance you can’t lose. Oh yeah I can’t forget Jen the property manager always making sure we are safe and going above and beyond to give us the best experience any tenant could have. Bottom line, I absolutely love Alister.

If you consider broken door handles, dirty hallways, overflowing trash, confusing rent payment programs, slow elevator, loud traffic luxury, then this is the place for you. It is overpriced for what you get and they force you to pay for internet. You are really paying for location.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. They provided recommendations on where to eat and hangout since I was moving from CA and didn’t know anyone in town.
I just made the drive up to Charlotte from Texas, and the staff here at quarterside has been incredibly helpful and responsive. When I arrived I received my keys promptly and the space was clean and attractive. The only thing not working upon arrival was the garbage disposal (Brandi was quick to make a note for maintenance) and a couple of missing slats from the window, but otherwise I’m very happy with my decision to move here! As I haven’t spent any real time here yet, I can only speak to first impressions and location, but so far both are very positive and I am excited to be a resident moving forward.
There is nothing luxury about this place. It's a good location, but the building is poorly built. My large studio apartment faces 7th avenue. I hear street noise all the time due to the poorly insulated windows. The fourth floor has the pleasure of having the HVAC system directly above. The HVAC system that has failed, or has been operating continuously due to a stuck valve they tell me. So I have rumbling in my apartment. The elevator was out a few days ago. No notice as to when it might be fixed. It took a couple of days before that was resolved. I saw some poor delivery guys hauling furniture up four flights of stairs because the elevator didn't work. And when I took the apartment, it smelled, and the stove top was a mess. I spent several hours scrubbing it clean. This place is clearly not worth the money they charge.
Being a new resident at Quarterside, I'm very satisfied with my choice of living here. The staff have gone above and beyond in helping me with my transition to Charlotte and they are very pleasant to interact with. Sign "Enjoying My Spot in Charlotte!"
Terrible move out experience. Very poor communication between staff. One staff member made it seem as if getting our security deposit back was going to be a done deal and once we received the final account statement we were charged $95 for "repairs" which is ridiculous because there was no more than nail size holes in the wall which could have been fixed with spackle for $5. They also charged us a $65 "cleaning fee" which, again, is crazy because the apartment was dusty at most which required running a vacuum and swiffer across the floors (which we could have done for free ourselves had it been communicated to us that this warranted a cleaning service). During our year and a half stay we dealt with several different property managers and many different sales representatives and there clearly was a change in communication from the beginning to the end, a great example being the first staff member we worked with said it would be fine for us to paint the walls because they were going to have to be repainted regardless, but most recently (after moving out) we were told we're responsible for painting the walls to original color. To add insult, we generously left the apartment a sliding barn door that we installed for free that had a $500 value and they still found it necessary to charge us $160 to spackle and vacuum... ironically the charges end up being just enough to cancel out the security deposit... We had other issues throughout our experience such as AC constantly breaking, a fire alarm chirping throughout the night with no one answering the "emergency maitenance line", and garage openers that seemed to constantly break. Overall we had a poor experience and the fact the staff found it necessary to withhold our security deposit was the icing on the cake. Recommend looking elsewhere.
This place is the absolute worst place to live in Uptown and quite possibly the entire state. High costs, poor management, lack of facilities, aging buildings and shoddy paints job/construction are all the reasons you need to look elsewhere. There are cheaper places with more to offer all over the city, that have nicer and more competent people running them. A few notes from my much too long stay at this awful complex: 1. Nothing is included in the rent. They charge $50 for Wi-Fi, whether you use it or not, and if you work from home or stream a lot, you are going to want to use another service. In fact, by the time you factor, all your utilities and their charges, this is one of the most expensive places per a square foot in Uptown. 2. Parking is an issue. They have and will tow residents parked in front of their own building. Plus nonresidents park there for basketball games and for work. 3. Trash is everywhere. Because of the open area for trash, on windy days, trash will blow all over the complex like tumbleweeds in the old West. 4. Just because there are door codes, doesn't mean they are secure. Everyone knows the codes and comes and goes as they please. 5. The gym is not for residents only. A few pushy, unqualified trainers have taken up residency in there and make it all about them and their non-resident clients. 6. They have no qualified maintenance guy onsite that can fix anything in a reasonable amount of time. I went six weeks in the middle of summer with no AC (and no comps) and three weeks with a leaking window that caused water damage on the hardwood floor. 7. The leasing office is a rotating door of buffoons and somehow lesser and lesser qualified to tie their own shoes than to run a property effectively. In just a few years, there have been six - 6 - property "managers" onsite. And they are so incompetent, they lose keys to apartments and expect you to provide them a copy at their request. 8. They will try to screw you out of the security deposit. Despite having areas marked on our initial walkthrough, they claimed them on the final inspection as our fault and deducted money from our deposit. If you are still reading this, you are either desperate for a place to live, like throwing money away or maybe just into torturing yourself, but I can't stress enough, there are better places to call a home.
I've been at QS for 7 months, and in that time have experienced the following: One manager fired, and a new one transferred in from a sister property. Two maintenance men let go, and two replacements are now onsite. ONE AWESOME SALES AGENT HAS BEEN IN PLACE SINCE THE BEGINNING. Former manager was EXTREMELY hands-off with residents and property upkeep. Sat in the office, rarely acknowledged anyone or anything, never walked the property, rented "turned" units that were not clean, and well....I'm glad she's gone. The NEW manager, JEN - so far VERY good! Keep it up, please and than you. A delightful addition and she GETS IT - what it is to be an engaged manager, knowing her residents, taking steps to make the property better, and DOES THE JOB our hard earned rent pays her to do. YES and THANK YOU, Jen!! I would add to please follow up with repairs, or show up to see them for yourself, to ensure things are actually repaired and pleasing for current and future tenants. DEE: Consistent Pleasant. Knowledgeable. Honest. Genuine. Keep that up and you'll be just fine, wherever you go. Current maintenance/housekeeping: Housekeeping has stepped it up the past few weeks: cleaning the carpets and REGULARLY mopping the floors, versus dust, dirt and stains everywhere until a complaint is filed. BEN (repairs): Is he polite/pleasant? Yes. Always smiles and speaks. And that's where it ends. Truthfully, he just isn't the greatest with repairs, and we've had 2 thus far, with a 3rd to be done. Let's just say we hope the 3rd time is a charm. Overall, it's been a less than stellar experience BUT recent change in management has put a better spin on things. Hopefully, it continues.
Best location ever!!! We love being in uptown within walking distance of so many uptown attractions! The office staff is friendly, helpful and prompt!
( BEWARE ) I’ve been a resident for over 4 years and what quarterside is today is not what it used to be. The first 2 years staying here things were amazing. Now Unfortunately, the management under hire is poor and you can get nothing resolved without a repetitive daily process of pleading with them. The amenities are great and you are close to the city but if you don’t like to wake up at 3 or 4am to loud music from residents, or have to get rest for an outing, I wouldn’t move here. Several calls have been made about noise complaints but nothing gets done. In addition, watch out for the false advertising of the “valet trash pickup” they tell you about upon initial sign on.
The Good: The location adds value (near-by park, close proximity to a greenway, not too close or too far from Center City) and has a fully funtional gym. The Bad: The location. People who work near Center City Park their vehicles on a side (narrow) street beside the complex. A fire station is on the corner. The gym. It is mostly maintained by the residents. There are a couple of resident trainers who help keep the gym in order and updated. TV remotes are difficult to find. On-Site Maintenance. The team is thin and it takes a while to get things done if one does not do them yourself. Out of 8-10 requests, the tasks is not fully completed because patch work is performed. A unit above was being cleaned by maintenance or an outscored contractor and a lot of “dirty” water was thrown over the patio onto patio set and the apt would not reimburse for the damage to patio set. Appliances. Low grade and low brand. They are relatively loud and fridge makes random clicking noises. They do work. Amenities: Very light on them (no media room, no community events) and the business office “room” has a slow pc and the internet connection is inconsistent. Stairwells: Dirty and not routinely cleaned. Construction: Poorly designed. Cabinet drawers do not fully open. Cracks in walls. Not padded for noise so you can and will hear neighbors above and beside. For example, you can hear walking going on in upper unit. If on 2nd level in building with gym, can hear weights dropped. Office: Generally nice people who work there. Requires follow-up on items on most things except for rent renewals. On-Site Security: There is one. Neighbors: Some of them are respectable and considerate with the noise level and some are not. External Promotions: There are other more disquinshed ways to promote sales and the complex besides using big colorful balloons and signs; they do not add to the word “luxury”. Rental rates: Increasing. It would be appreciated if residents received more of an explanation besides “market analysis”. Overall: One gets what one pays for; of course, please do not be deceived by “luxury”. Nice community and uniquely built units for short-term living.
We have been at QSide for about 7 months now and it has been awesome. Between the awesome office staff and proximity to everything in uptown it was a great choice!
I started off subletting someone’s Aoartment and immediately fell in love with the property. Everyone is so mice and friendly especially Dee. She made the transition of applying for the apartment seamless and I love the retail and bars that are located within the complex. I had strangers volunteering to help me move stuff upstairs. Very safe and nice neighborhood. Very dog friendly. I look forward to signing my year lease! Location is everything!

Seven days post my last comment and everything is still good at Quarterside for the most part. I did however feel that one serious omission was made from my previous comment that is necessary to be addressed for the sake of an honestly transparent review. That omission was garbage and cleanliness. Two connected areas that I feel can be improved. While the apartments themselves as well as most common areas are cleaned regularly, the parking garages and outdoor stairwells are fairly dirty to put it mildly. It would be very nice for the management to help resolve these issues and perhaps also myself and my neighbors to be mindful to clean up after ourselves as well.
I've lived here at the Quarterside Apartments for a little over two weeks and have to say I couldn't be more pleased. The staff is courteous, competent and makes sure every issue is addressed and taken care of in a timely fashion. Additionally, the apartments are beautiful, designed well and very clean (also priced at a very affordable rate especially as close to uptown as it is). I do wish my apartment came with an actual oven as opposed to a microwave/convection oven but granted I'm in a studio so from a layout standpoint its understandable. In terms of neighbors, I've met some great people so far and everyone seems very friendly- albiet perhaps a little shy (I don't see many people hanging around common areas). That being said, improvements like the soon-to-be grill station in the central common area will likely help considerably. Being relatively new here I immediately felt welcome and I continue to I look forward to meeting my neighbors and living here.
Out of all other places in uptown with such high prices, Quarterside offered me something that is very acceptable. The area is very living-friendly and the complex is convenient to go to anywhere. It has good security features as well. The room itself is very new and modern, it has everything you need in an apartment!
We have settled into our new home! It's been almost a month already. We had been looking for a place for awhile and just thought to stop in to the Quarterside office. Upon arrival we were greeted promptly. We had been to other offices and it almost seemed like they were bothered we were taking them away from their work or were too "busy". That is not the feeling we got walking into Quarterside's office. We were able to look at various floor plans and told them of all we were looking for in a place and they were spot on with the place we moved into! We didn't feel pressured at all. It's significantly quiet which was very important to me and oversees a cute courtyard (at first I thought it would be loud, but not at all!). I like that we can have our items delivered to the office and just pick it up,instead of just leaving it at the main door. Once moved in, there were little things (I mean tiny) that needed fixing whether it was a drawer or sky lights etc.. and they were extremely quick with getting the items fixed! This whole process has been overall smooth, this was important to me especially because I am a new NC resident. This location is also close to a lot places, which makes traveling not that crazy! All of the staff from maintenance to leasing office staff have been great! I am very happy with the decision my fiancé and I have made to make Quarterside our home!!
We are super excited to call The Apartments at Quarterside our new home! We are only a week away from moving in and I can already tell we made the very best choice for uptown Charlotte living! We LOVE the idea of living in the heart of the city but have never felt it was in our reach until now! Being in First Ward, the view is fantastic, but far enough away (only a couple blocks) from the busiest streets. On one trip to visit the office, it was shortly after 5 pm when we were leaving. We were expecting a long wait in heavy traffic, but to our delight we zipped right out and onto the freeway!! We have been taken care of very thoroughly by the caring leasing staff. They have anticipated our needs and made everything clear and organized about our move! Before showing us an apartment, they took time to get to know us and then showed us the very one that best met our needs and desires. In the complex there are several shops, where we can take care of many of our needs like haircuts, dry cleaning or an evening beer at an outdoor table enjoying the view! So much is within walking distance our car might get lonely!
I had a short time to find an apartment in Charlotte and Quarterside was the only place that was willing and able to work with my short window of time. They were able to help me secure a lease remotely and ensure I was ready to move in. Since moving in, I've had one small issue - the microwave lightbulb was out - and they came quickly to address the issue. Lovely facility and staff.
I wanted to find an apartment within walking distance of my job uptown. Out of the various complexes that I reached out to about openings, Quarterside gave the most personal experience showing genuine interest in my search and staying in contact throughout the decision-making process. The apartment itself has been great, vaulted ceilings and great insulation you rarely hear anything from your neighbors. Also, the floor plan works very well for my situation providing plenty of space, views of uptown Charlotte and nice hardwood floors to give the place a modern touch. Since staying here I haven't had any issues; the community seems to be very cordial and safe. Stores inside of the community make last minute decisions been very convenient. I would recommend Quarterside to anybody looking for a new place to live.
I've lived at Quarterside for approximately 2 months, and I can't tell you how great it is. First off, let me say that the move process was so simple and easy. Both the sales manager (Jean) and the property manager (Rebecca) were so patient and so helpful during the whole process. Anytime I had a question, they'd always respond in a timely manner. They both really do care about their residents at Quarterside. Maintenance was always quick too. I haven't had an issue, but from what I've heard from other residents that if you have an issue, maintenance will be there in a jiffy to fix it, no matter what time of day it is. The apartments themselves are super nice too. I live in an ATH 4 floor plan. It's a two story apartment, with the first floor being your kitchen and living room. The kitchen is really nice, some really nice appliances and the upstairs has hardwood floor throughout, big windows and sprawling views of Charlotte. Downstairs I have a patio that walks out to the pool which is nice to sit out at on nice days (do we even have bad weather in Charlotte?). The bedroom, bathroom, the huge walk in closet and a office area is located downstairs. The included washer and dryer is so helpful. Each apartment is unique and beautiful. The neighbors are so nice here at Quarterside. No matter where you turn you can always find a friendly face. The pool is always a nice place to relax to on a hot day. I also love how the parking garages are all gated which is just an added security feature. I really don't have anything bad to say about this wonderful apartment complex! I'm truly glad that I live here.
Rebecca & Jean are very helpful, often taking time out of their own schedules to help us out! I would have given 5 stars strictly based off of the customer service however there are some cons that keep it from a 5-star apartment complex. One of them being that there is only one elevator in our entire apartment complex and it can sometimes take forever to get on if there is a lot of traffic (also almost makes you sweat how hot it is). Lastly the floors in our apt our somewhat morphed in certain areas, but not a huge deal.
I have lived at quarterside for a couple of months now, and the location couldn't be better! 10 to 15 minute walk to nearly anywhere in uptown Charlotte. The building is super quiet and the staff if very friendly. No issues and no complaints so far. There are a couple of bars attached to the complex, we well as a cleaner and yoga studio/haircut salon. Having shopped around, you can't beat the prices for what you are getting at Quarterside!

I just moved into Quarterside and I love it! You can't beat the location, easy access to 74 and so close to Charlotte's strip and the Epicenter! In walking distance to the 7th St. Public Market! Everyone has been so nice and welcoming! I'm glad we decided to move here!

Quarterside's staff is super professional and always willing to help! The apartments are gorgeous and they have so many different floor plans. The pool is super cool to hang out at and prime location to plaza midwood, noda, and southend. Highly reccomend to anyone wanting to live uptown.

I have been a resident at Quarterside for about a year now and I just renewed my lease for another 15 months. That by itself speaks much to my experience. Friendly management, convenient location, one of the best deals in uptown to be honest. It can get a little loud sometimes (fire trucks, police...) but that is typical for a city location. All in all I would definitely recommend Quarterside and hope your experience here will be as smooth and as pleasant as mine!
