Property Ratings at Allegheny Apartments
I moved into the Allegheny recently and I've been enjoying it so far. I've got a really nice apartment with a fantastic view! The fitness center is awesome - much better than most that i viewed. I moved from out of state and was concerned about the whole leasing process but it was super efficient which made my move much less stressful. I'm really glad I chose the Allegheny for my home!
No security, so if the fire department/cops are called, they literally cannot get in the building. Management is a joke and does not care at all about residents. The elevators are always broken. The place is filthy—my apartment wasn’t even cleaned when I moved in. People let their dogs pee all over the front door of the building, and the rest of us have to walk through it. People are extremely loud and management just says “we can’t do anything about noise complaints.” It’s a terrible place, and they charge SO much rent. Stay away.
Literal roaches are constantly wandering the apartments, elevators are constantly down, the front entrance always smells of urine. The apartment themselves are dirty when you first move in claiming to have been cleaned, which are not. If you complain you will be ignored for weeks on end, and next to nothing will be done about it. They aren’t here to help suit your needs. So many things wrong with this place I advise anyone to stay away, the price is not worth it.
Infested with bugs. Elevators are broken very often. Have to walk 5 flight of stairs. They switch the HVAC from heat to cold so late into summer. My apartment was 80 degrees for a few days. Windows don’t open. Management is very rude and unfair with cleaning charges. Would not recommend
As the title states, the elevators in this place are literally never working. There is usually only one working at a time (which is the situation right now), and for 19 floors that is just insane. You have to wait in a line in the lobby during busy times of the day. And you can forget ever getting the elevator when people are moving out. I have to get surgery in a week—having to hike up 13 floors is completely absurd. My rent went up almost $100 this year (not to mention the $250 NONREFUNDABLE pet deposit I had to pay). Plus, the noise levels are really bad at night. My upstairs neighbor is constantly stomping around well after quiet hours. People smoke weed in the stairwells (which we have to use quite often thanks to the broken elevators) and there are matches all over the stairs. This place is absolutely not worth the insane amount of money they are charging.
This is a nice complex with nice amenities. The maintenance staff is helpful if you have any issues. The view from the highest floors is very nice, but the windows are much too dirty to see out of and impossible to clean yourself. Other than that it’s a good place to live.
This is definitely the best apartment I’ve lived in. The large windows are awesome for natural light, all of the appliances are updated, and it’s actually really quiet here. I don’t currently have a pet, but I plan on getting a dog in the future, so it’s awesome that this place is pet-friendly. The leasing agent I worked with, Angie, was super helpful and patient with me throughout the entire leasing process. Like any apartment, there have been a few issues—plumbing & electric. It’s also near-impossible to hang things due to how crumbly the drywall/plaster is, and the paint comes off the wall even if a bit of water touches it. Other than that, though, the place is super great & I’d recommend it to anyone who wants to live downtown!
I lived there more than one year, i was looking a place with a good view, kitchen island & gym, & got all that for a really good price, the gym was one of the best i saw in buildings, so quiet & cozy, the maintenance staff and Angie were so helpful and friendly all the time, i was my first year living in USA and it was a great experience, near to all good places to visit, i totally recommend the experience living here.
I love my apartment as there are tons of windows which allows for lots of natural light! The finishes are very nice too. The office staff has been excellent to deal with as well as maintenance. Any time an issue arises, it’s dealt with in a timely manner.
The apartment is beautiful, great location, nice staff, but those cannot make up for the fact the building and the apartments are infested with fruit flies and horse flies. The sad thing is maintenance will not help you out with this either. Come prepared to fight against bugs if you want to live here.
