Property Ratings at Allen House Apartments
The maintenance team is very responsive and explains issues as they work and upon completion. There is some work still needed and they have let me know a plan of communication and the next steps they will take.

Thank you for the favorable review of our apartment homes! We are delighted to provide our residents with a peaceful and enjoyable living environment and appreciate your acknowledgment. It is a pleasure to serve you, and we look forward to doing so for many years to come. Welcome home!
I love living at Allen house!!! The leasing staff is great and it felt like home as soon as I moved in. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an apartment.
So far, we love it here! Everyone is so nice and genuine.
I have lived at the Allen House for 26 years. I believe that in itself speaks volumes of how much I consider the community to be home. I am very happy and blessed to be here.
The maintenance staff, especially Mr. Roy and Israel, are so helpful. Wonderful follow through with issues as they arise!
The entire staff of the Allen House is A-One!. It is a pleasure and an honor to live here.
I love the environment it’s quiet and I feel safe. The residents are somewhat friendly. So far management are somewhat helpful.
Great Disappointment ! A Real Farce ! Took 2 months to replace a toilet that wouldnt flush ! Most recent apartment has flooded a minimum of 4 times with no concern or response from Property Management, Office Staff ("management"). What a mess this place is. Took Months of continuous visits by Pest Control to get rid of Ants and Roaches. The cost of this apartment should be reduced to reflect poor management and maintenance
It’s great to living in Allen house , every thing is near by and also availability of public transportation. The place is calm and quiet and the neighborhood is now more lively with new restaurants and the new apartments. Only problem for families with kids as the zone schools do not have good rating.
This is the best leasing team I have ever worked with! Keli, Leon, and Kyle have all been really helpful and accommodating as needs have arisen. I have already recommended this community to friends in the area!
It is an overall good place to live. Been a resident for years and enjoy the amenities and location.
I have been at the Allen House for 26 years. I never thought that an apartment could be considered "home", but the Allen House is. I love it here.
Maintenance requests have always been responded to quickly and efficiently!
Exceptional service and exceptional value for the money spent no complaints!
It was a great experience to live in Allen House. Leon was very helpful during my stay here, he is a great part of the management team! Both apartments I lived here were such a great places, totally recommended if you are looking some place low budget and locates near the city, then this is a great location to start with.
The entire staff of the Allen House are wonderful. They are thorough in all they do while being friendly and professional. Thank you very much. I have lived here for 26 years and the Allen House is truly home.
I have been resident of the Allen House for 25 years. I consider it to be home. I love it. Management and maintenance are the best. I am proud to be here.
Walls are thin privacy and feeling comfortable in your space is not going to happen living here. I could smell my neighbors smoking inside everyday and it reeked. The outside area is a mess and the laundry room is always dirty. I always opted to go to my parents house and do laundry. The "dog park" smells like it hasn't ever been cleaned. The roaches were everywhere and pest control always showed up weeks later after request for them. Monthly fees were hideously high and for what I was paying I have no idea where that money went. I suspect it went to the landscapers who were there every other day blowing the leaf blower and sleeping under trees. Do yourself a favor LOOK ELSEWHERE
The Maintenance Staff, in fact the entire staff of the Allen House are the best. They are efficient, quick, friendly and professional. I have been here for 25 years so that tells you something about my feelings for the Allen House and the staff.
Staff does not usually get back to you right away. I’ve called the main building multiple times and they don’t answer or if they do they do not follow up
Absolutely love the maintenance crew at Allen House! They’re always so nice and quick to help.
Great management, staff and maintenance! Thank you!
When I moved in, the apartment was very dirty. I had to spend days just scrubbing huge sticky spots from the linoleum flooring. The walls were dirty and the baseboards looked like they had painted a clear paint over hair/dirt/grime. I am also frustrated that I don’t even have a parking spot in my own building. I have been happy with the office staff, timeliness of maintenance requests, and the pool/courtyard areas, but overall have not had a good experience.
It’s a good place to live. Well located and nice apartments. Pricey but yet fair all things considered
I have lived in the Allen House for over 25 years. I love it. It is home. I am pleased to be a resident in what we call a Houston institution. The Management, Office Staff, and Maintenance are the best. Their goal is to make sure that residents are taken care of and happy. They have met this goal toward me beyond expectations.
Great location. Great employees in the leasing center, always helpful. Issues are resolved timely by the maintenance team. Better maintenance (including pest control treatment) of apartments needs to be done prior to move-in of new residents.
I have been calling The Allen House home for the past 26 years. I love it here.
They are always willing to solve any situation, they are friendly and professional, they do everything to the best of their ability.
Pro's - excellent location! Great value for the space and size of the apartments. Nice finish outs in the apartments. Excellent response time on Maintenance requests. The laundry facilities are well kept and clean with good machines. The leasing staff/office has been very helpful and friendly at all time during the process of moving in.
Excellent, the management team are great, friendly polite and always with a very good attitude.
Pros: Friendly neighbors and staff. I rarely hear my neighbors. Cons: The water gets shut off almost once a month for repairs. Lots of rust buildup in my shower head and very rusty water after repairs. Rust buildup also caused my unit to have low water pressure, which they fix, but it comes back. Major water leak in the laundry room that sometimes covers half the floor, which happens regularly. Paint in bathroom tub and walls started peeling after 2 months. Dips and dents all over the floor (2nd- and 3rd-floor apartments) - my friend asked if they might fall through, and honestly, I don't know. I had flying termites swarm my apartment, which they tried to tell me only swarm to die, not breed. The internet claims they swarm to create a new colony. The day before I was supposed to move in, I got a call saying my unit was infested with cockroaches, and I couldn't move in. I feel like they should have known this sooner. I had to put my stuff into storage, find a place to stay, and pay for a couple of nights' accommodations, which they said they would reimburse but didn't. They also said they would give me some credits to my account for my troubles beyond the other stuff they said they would reimburse, which they did add those credits to my account. A week later, they told me the apartment was ready, so I drove halfway across the country back to Houston to move in, and when I got there, I walked in and started squishing cockroaches at regular intervals on the wall. This wasn't the big field cockroaches that sometimes wander in: it was two different types of little ones that are hard to get rid of. I was in the office almost daily trying to get the cockroach problem fixed and letting them know it was still a problem. While they were nice, they also didn't act like there was anything they could do about it (they could have broken the lease and let me move out because the cockroaches were from before I moved in and therefore no fault of mine, but I learned that after the fact). After 6 weeks, they finally let me move into a different apartment, but the only one available I could afford was a two-bedroom, which cost me more per month. I was charged multiple times for my Amazon locker because of this situation, and it took months and several reminders before I was credited back for that. I have emails, videos, and photos verifying all of my first unit's cockroach problems.
Great maintenance is one of the many reasons that I call the Allen House home for the past 26 years.
I love living here, everyone is very nice and I love my space, but the communication and maintenance issues are not so great.
I have been living in our house for 4 years and I have never had a problem! Everything has always been up to par and the maintenance staff has always been excellent and willing to help at any time day or night in any emergency that has occurred. I would recommend any Windsor community and staff wholeheartedly! :-)
I usually don’t write reviews, but I for this phenomenonal person I had to. spoke with Leon on the phone and he was so helpful! I had many questions since I’m moving from out of the state. He made sure all the questions I asked were answered in great detail. Excellent staff goes a long way.
Allen House has been a delight for me! The location could not be better, the affordability is unmatched and most importantly, I feel safe. I have a dog that I walk several times a day and in the evening and with so much hustle and bustle around, I feel safe walking him after dark. But the best thing is, I can literally walk to just about everything I need!
I have lived here for 25 years and the entire staff, office and maintenance, as well as our Manager is wonderful. As far as maintenance is concerned, it's comforting to know that if something goes wrong, all I have to do is open a ticket and it's probably going to be fixed before I get home. Thank you very much.
Allen house is in a perfect location, my neighbors are wonderful and the leasing office staff is fantastic.
The apartment complex overcharges for rent considering nothing here is reliable (things are constantly broken for extended periods) and we are not compensated in any way. The materials used inside the apartments are cheap and deteriorate very quickly. I have been documenting this with photos. As compared to other apartments that are comparable to this one, the costs are excessive. Trash and recycling areas are absolutely disgusting and nearly impossible to use most of the time. Pests are constantly accessing the home. The washer and dryer units are not efficient whatsoever and the machine used to put the money on them is inconveniently located inside the office which is not accessible 24 hrs a day. The bathrooms at the swimming pool are never clean, and the pools are not adequately maintained. Peor are allowed to smoke wherever they want outside on the premises, and thus you're forced to walk through clouds of smoke, including with young children, on nearly a daily basis (note that secondhand smoke is just as dangerous). No one will negotiate and help us out with these issues, despite a number of tenants feeling the same way. It seems the corporation is only concerned about profit and capitalism over fairness and reputation.
I think that they always do everything possible to keep everything in good condition, but in any case, the facilities are very old and should be restored. It is possible to restore and beautify the bathrooms and the kitchen as well. All the apartments inside could improve their conditions , the rugs are uneven the kitchen cabinets could be modernized.
Living at Allen House has been a joy from the first day of my lease. Some of my favorite features include the immaculate courtyards, the spacious living quarters, and the friendly community here. Marquita and Leon at the front office have both made this living transition as smooth as possible and been such a help in the whole process. I truly enjoy living at Allen House and I am grateful for the peace that this location has been able to provide me.
Only downside is upkeep. They have a bug problem, never clean up the cobwebs covering the hallways leading out to the parking lot. Windows have cracks and let water in when it rains. Saggy and creeking floors. Holes in covered parking, so if it's going to rain don't bother getting a car wash. It's good considering this is my first apartment, especially for the area. But if you are able to, spend the extra bit of money on rent per month to find an apartment not built in the 60s.
This is a wonderful community. A real gem in the neighborhood!
This is a friendly community in a great location but the building needs to be updated and maintained better. The bugs, the spiderwebs, and the constantly breaking pipes and water issues are a big nuisance. Maintenance is quick to respond and typically friendly, but overall the apartment needs to be maintained better.
Maintenance requests are attended in a timely manner, and always they do an excellent job.
The staff is great. They work very hard. But we are understaffed. Corporate no longer seems to care about us. Lack of upkeep is a big issue. Things were much better when we had our own manager and didn’t share one with a nicer, more lucrative property. Cheers to our staff for doing the most they can.
Disrespectful staff. Owner endorses it. Not worth the price.
Everything is fine for face value. But I’ve had a roach infestation and 2 packages stolen and it’s been one month.
