If you want easy access to outdoor adventures while still being close to the city, apartments in Campbell Park are ideal.
Located approximately five miles outside of Downtown Anchorage, Campbell Park sits directly below the University Area, which houses Alaska Pacific University and the University of Alaska-Anchorage. Property Ratings at Alpine
My fiancé started renting here because it was cheap, and we definitely got what we paid for. It was fine for a while, but then they changed management and things really went downhill from there. Maintenance requests became sluggish, and when they decided to show up to make repairs, it was half-hearted and most times they didn't even fix the problem they just covered it up and called it a day. The main grounds, the best part of Alpine by far, started to suffer as the staff stopped maintaining leading to trash and dangerous pile ups of ice during winter. When they tried to raise our rent by an outrageous amount for, "market price" reasons, we decided to leave this place, but even that was botched by the Alpine staff. They lost our notice to vacate letter that we had submitted twice, and despite all the proof we had, forced us to pay the next month's rent. This place is not worth the cheap month to month in any regard. We were diligent in all of our years renting and never missed a rent payment, and it got us nothing but an undeserved bill in the end.

Hello, We are saddened to know that your time with us did not end more positively. Please reach out to us if you would like to discuss in more detail your move-out costs. We will use your feedback to better our services moving forward. Thank you.
Do not rent here. Office staff are friendly and mean well but are ineffective when it comes to dealing with issues on property. Negligent property management causes lack of safety/cleanliness: 1. Biohazard: sewage backup in building August 2021; untended for at least a week, came home one day at lunch to see sewage cleaning can (confirming my suspicions), when I confronted management about it they straight up lied, claiming there was no backup until I pointed out the cleaning van. Didn’t notify tenants in building despite horrible smell. 2. No oversight: security threats, trash, parking violations, etc. go untended here UNLESS you’re in their way when paving the parking lot. Saw them tow their own tenants the weekend I moved in. Someone/something defecates in the stairwell of my building and the issue persists. 3. Entering without permission: August, maintenance entered when nobody was home to put shelf in after I specifically requested they call beforehand. 4. Rarely can reach management by phone or email. 5. Lack of security/response to threats: late 9/25 neighbor/individual fired a gun in the building, police were called but no tenants were notified; late 9/27, someone tried to break into my building, broke secured glass door with fists, blood in fist holes and on wall, management let glass and blood sit in lobby until late afternoon 9/26; did not notify tenants because they claimed it was an “ongoing investigation” (couldn’t even tell us the door was broken- okay), didn’t clean either. 6. Inefficient apartments: apartments are clean but out of date, also seems to be a heating problem because my place was constantly 85 degrees inside. Living room windows don’t open. When I asked about these incidents specifically management claimed they couldn’t just contact every tenant in the building. Makes no sense to me. I understand you can’t control people but you can be more proactive or reactive to issues that persist or occur on the property. I’ve already made my complaints known but I’m posting them here too for other people looking at this place. Overall DO NOT RENT HERE.

I searched Anchorage extensively for 6 months always ending back at Alpine as cleaner, nicer, price etc. People will always be problematic. It's the manner in which its handled that matters. The management at Alpine is top notch! If you are looking for a place to deal drugs or party, not your place. Cameras, security ??. If you are looking for a maintained property to LIVE and prosper in then Alpine is your oasis ??.. That's just my opinion Thank you Alpine

Thank you so much for your kind words! We appreciate you. Have a great day!
I needed a two month all inclusive rental for medical reasons. What I got was near constant late notices and an extra 5 days of rent. Paid rent in full on the 1st per website. A late notice posted on my door days later. They screwed up the $500 deposit. Next month argument as to my two-month rental became two months and 5 days $270.00 ripoff. All the while working with upper management, not the on-site management. They charge a late fee on the 2nd! Came back to another nasty late notice. Always nice to come home from NICU to late notices posted on my door even thou I had already paid and worked out that they ripped me off for $270. I had paid them the extra $270 the day before. I was a day away from having to pay another full months rent! Stay FAR FAR FAR away from Alpine Apartments and Weidner.
The apartments are old and poorly maintained; my guess is they have not been updated since they were constructed. Foundations have wide cracks, entry door to my building spends as much time broken as it does fixed. You have to go downstairs to let people in since the access controls from the apartments don't work. Elevator hasn't been properly certified or serviced since at least 2015 when I moved in. Building (5410) is supposed to be non-smoking but always smells of smoke and pot in both hallways and elevator. On-site storage is basically plywood 3 x 4 rooms for $75 per month not the $25 listed above. The only thing included is heat which you have no control over so you end up having to leave windows open in the winter to stay below 80 degrees and be cool enough to sleep. A/C is extra if you want to rent a unit from the complex and they are not very efficient units anyway and are old and loud. You will receive a bill each month for trash removal, electricity (even though you pay the electric company already for your apartment), and sewer, which Alpine is making extra money on those bills by overcharging. They used to say cable was included which they charged you for each month as over the figure quoted as rent so it wasn’t included and still isn’t with you getting charged each month. Security is pathetic as I've had to honk my horn to wake him up to open the gate if he/she even shows up at night. Overall the apartments need serious work and updating, as the layout is horrible.
Although the apartments always had something breaking down, the hallways were smelly all the time, and the rooms were never that clean to begin with, I would've given them a higher rating. BUT I have a huge problem with the staff/billing department. They are very friendly but they rarely ever responded to emails or calls. It was almost impossible ever getting a hold of them. Most of the time, I had to walk to the leasing office if I ever wanted an issue resolved. Even the maintenance took at least a few days (sometimes a week or more) to come and fix whatever was broken in my apartment (clogged bathtub, clogged sink, leak in the ceiling, dishwasher not working). My biggest problem though is after we moved out. Being this the first apartment I've ever rented, I double-checked with the same man on two different days at the leasing office on what I had to do before moving out. He said both times that all I needed was to do was send an email with both mine and my roommate's names, bldg & apt #, and the dates that we were moving out and to also hand in the keys before leaving. That's what we did. TWO MONTHS after moving out and thinking that it was all over and taken care of, my roommate gets a call from the Collections Office saying we have a debt of $690. So, we called Alpine and asked why we were being charged, why we weren't notified by Alpine and just sent straight to Collections, and why now? The man's response was if we changed our mailing address or if we had our mail forwarded to our new mailing address. I told him that the man I spoke to before moving out told me of doing no such thing and besides that, they had both our phone numbers on file. His response to that is that they like to have a paper trail and they probably sent it in our mailbox. But, they also have our emails on file. So, instead of something as easy as them calling us or sending us an email a week or two at the most after we moved out notifying us about this fee, they did not bother to notify us at all, waited two months, and sent it straight to collections. Thanks a lot, Alpine. On top of that, 2-3 weeks after moving out, my roommate called and asked if we were getting our deposit back. They said that they had to keep it for cleaning purposes which is insane because we left that apartment cleaner than we got it. The price would've been affordable if the quality of the apartments and the customer service were better. I would not recommend Alpine or any Weidner property to anyone.

The staff at Alpine Meadows has been nothing but fantastic since I started the application process. They are very prompt with questions and concerns, and I love the fact that they are onsite 5 days a week for full business hours. My apartment itself is one that was recently remodeled with new appliances and fixtures, and I appreciate the attention to style and detail that was made. It was very clean, as is the building it is housed in. I also appreciate the amenities that are provided at Alpine Meadows, including free wifi, lounge area, and fitness room with good equipment in the leasing office for residents, free cable with my rental, and secured access not only for my building, but also the grounds them self through the night with a security guard on site. These extra details let you know they care about the health, safety, and general wellbeing of the tenants. I love my small apartment, which is perfect for me, and so far have nothing bad to say about Alpine Meadows! It is apartment living, so there is a certain amount of noise to be expected, but so far all of my neighbors I've met have been both friendly and courteous.

Hello Valued Resident, "Perfect for me" is the best feedback! I'm Kristie from the Customer Service department and I am happy to hear that you are enjoying the amenities, your neighbors and the community as a whole. We thank you for posting and for choosing to call Apline your home. Take care, Kristie
Alpine is not bad at all. The price is affordable compared to other parts of Anchorage. If you don't want to live in Fairview or Mountain view and want something not off the bus line Alpine is perfect. It is a big community and the staff is friendly. Maintenance has been great so far. Apartments are older but well maintained. I would recommend for lots of types of renters.
I have only lived an apartment life for 2 years in my entirety. This is the first time I've had to find a place of my own. I'm a single working mother of two young boys, well into my late 30's. What appealed to me about the Alpine apartments is that it was a gated community, had secured buildings, staff onsite, and the laundry and mail center inside the unit. Apart from the site itself, I really like the location. The type of neighborhood for the value I pay in rent mattered as well. All in all, this place feels like a hotel but the privacy and ownership of a home. I love my 2 bedroom place, it's spacious and homey for my family and secure. I have great peace of mind when I come home each night. I've committed to a year long lease and that sense of security is wonderful as well. Thank you Alpine apartments!
Apartment was very clean on moving in, but had an odd odor I thought was from cleaning supplies. It is not. The bathtub has repairs that don't allow all the water to drain - bought a squeegee that help. Had a leak in the kitchen already and the upstairs neighbor had a leak which ended in my apartment. I think the odor is from mold or mildew. Bought some bleach and plan to scrub everything down. Am on the 3rd of 4 floors and there was a leak through light fixture resulting in huge puddle in front of elevator. Maintenance could be better. Love the windows and its fairly quiet.
The Alpine apartments have always been known to attract young teens starting out. Moving away from mom n dad. There is lots of noise, and animal droppings everywhere. The staff does their best to keep up with them but ultimatley this is not a very family friendly apartment complex. They do allow pets though and its decent rent for Alaska. The hallways always smell of marijuana, and youll typically be awoken by music at all hours of the night. They also allow you to smoke inside the apartments which can leak through the vents. I would reccomend these apartments to anyone young enough to handle the parties and noise. has pets and smokes inside.
Not a bad place, especially if you're just starting out. This is my girlfriends and I's first apartment together, and although it hasn't been the best place we've ever been, but it also hasn't been the worst. We have had bad customer service though, sometimes finding it hard to be able to reach the tenants when we need answers. One lady, who no longer works here, was the worst. She didn't know anything. So when we would call, and she would answer, would quote us something (usually wrong), and would make it that much more difficult when we call back and someone else says something different. Well then we quote her, but they say sorry but that's just not how/what we do here. Just a few months ago they, or the computer according to them, randomly changed the amount of rent we owed per month, about $35. Sure not a dramatic difference, but it took us 4 months to figure out, totaling to $150 extra we were paying. We didn't solve the issue until it was time to renew our lease. It's almost like they won't say something until you do, if you do. Water bill can be okay depending on whether you use it or not. The way they operate is splitting the total bill between every apartment, so your bill depends on how big your apartment is, more rooms, more money. There is no assigned parking, which can be great, if you're home early enough on certain nights. The size is iffy, depending totally on you. Right now we're paying $1220 for a 2 bedroom and single bath, while my friend and his girlfriend are paying paying just a little more for a 2 bedroom, single bath (with a sauna), with high roof ceilings. I mean sure I don't expect that in here considering how many apartments there are and they want the maximum amount they can get, but rent can be pretty dang high. They are very dog friendly, but people tend to leave their doggy doo-doo laying around waiting for the maintenance (if they decide to), to clean it up. They have breed restrictions, but from what I've seen I don't think they're too strict about that. Just the other day I saw a female with her 2 dogs, one a Rottweiler, the other a pit bull mix. I don't mind dogs so it didn't bother me, but both are restricted from the apartments... So they say. Any who, hope this review from personal experience helps someone out there!
Not a great place to live, be expecting the rent to go up everye year your living there and add on hidden expenses. BUT if you have pets it might be the only alternative you my have. Beware of all Weidner Properties! Security all though your charged for it, is horrible, they have a field mouse problem that i personally have had to have the exterminaters come out for on my own dime. All in all don't live here, that why I'm moving.
Alpine has it's ups and downs. I work late, and security usually starts their shift around 10. And every time you try to come home after a long day from work, you have to wait for security to check everyone's i.d and its just time consuming and so much of an inconvenience to come home to.
