Property Ratings at Alpine Flats-Student Apartments
The new management has been great to work with and very helpful. They went above and beyond to help us with our concerns. I believe they will make this an awesome place to stay! Thanks Richard for al you have done!!
Chelsie went out of her way to help us with an apartment when we had nowhere else to go. She was leaving and stopped to find out what we needed. Thanks to her a place was found and worries ended. We can't thank her enough.
Management constantly gives excuses for every single problem that arises and never communicates with the residents at all. There were numerous problems that I had to contact the corporate office in California for because the management here never spoke about the problems. The wifi has been out in the middle of a school week for multiple days in a row, the hot water has been out for a week+ in February, and the hot tub has stayed empty for months on end.
I really wanted to like this place. It seemed like it had everything a college student would want: walking distance to campus, a clubhouse, hot tub, fairly nice living space, etc. However, it has been a spiral of decline during the year. First, the clubhouse was not available to residents outside of office hours (10-6 M-F) for the first month or so. This made it very difficult to ever use this space that is so heavily advertised. After about a month, the movie room still remained closed for about two months so it could be used as a makeshift mail room. Meanwhile, the hot tub has been open for about 1/3 of the year. It is closed more often than not, which is a bummer. Last month, the apartment complex's internet went out for more than a day. When school is almost completely online, this is a huge issue. While the internet was out, management swiftly disappeared, leaving no one in the office to answer questions or phone calls about when the internet would be back. The office voicemail was also full, so there was no way to leave a message. The only communication we got during the 27+ hours of the internet being down was ONE Instagram story post that said it would be back "soon." I couldn't even pick up packages because they were all stuck behind the locked office door. The best part? We later found out that the internet went out because MANAGEMENT FORGOT TO PAY THE INTERNET BILL. I'm not joking. I understand things go wrong, but I cannot believe management basically abandoned residents during this time. It is the epitome of irresponsible management. A week later, management quit, so we have been without real dedicated management for weeks. In the meantime, Nelson Partners decided to quietly get rid of the GPA discount that was HEAVILY advertised last year and was one reason why many people I know signed up to live here. We were told, since the discount wasn't in the lease contract, they don't have to honor it. Sure, that might be legally true, but it sure isn't ethical, imo. This month, our hot water has been out for over 3 days in the past week. Despite numerous emergency maitenance requests, we are still left with ice cold showers, and no communication or response from the apartment. I won't blame this on the manitenance guy, because he's been trying to do his job. Rather, I will blame this on management again. They have only paid him and one part time assistant and he is obviously overworked.
Apartments are older but have been renovated quite a bit, and they just got new couches. The staff help out a lot and are a lot very friendly. I would recommend if you are looking to save a little bit of money and live close to campus
My time here at the Alpine Flats has been pretty good, the apartments are really close to campus and they are good for what I'm paying. I think that the best part is that i can go to school and then walk back in 4 minutes for lunch.
I saw some negative reviews but I have to say that the amount of money that you pay, this close to campus, is well worth the stay! They aren't the perfect apartments but they have weekly activities, the residents are cool, and a hot tub/ theater room that I have spent too much time in...
Good for a first time apartment and if your are wanting to live in close quarters with people. Maintenance is slow to fix things and they don't always get fixed the right away. Wifi goes in and out and stays out at the most important times during the semester. People have been stealing packages. The apartment is not clean when you first move in and then there are random inspections. The laundry area is dirty and if you want to do laundry, they take $15 right away even if you only spend $3.50. The hot tub has been down all spring semester even though that is what their claim to fame is. They make you pay a full months rent when you first move in even if its not for the entire month, like when the fall semester starts. Parking is limited and tight and costs $300. There are many broken things in the apartment that should have been fixed before anyone even moved in, like the couches. I would not recommend this apartment to anyone.
I have lived here for two school years and one summer. More problems keep creeping up. Management is never available, and never get back to you, most of them have no idea what they are talking about and all of them will tell you different stories about any issue. Parking is a disaster and they charge an obscene amount for a spot because the city issues citations for parking on the street. Maintenance never keeps appts. and they do't hesitate to charge you a full rents month even when they kick you out 5 days into May. Absolutely would not recommend.
