Property Ratings at Altamont Summit Apartment Homes
I toured ~30 different apartment complexes before choosing Altamont. My decision was based on finding a place in the area that was clean, safe, good quality interiors, unique, nice facilities, and decent pricepoint. Altamont had all of the above. Outside of this, when I needed things fixed during my initial walkthrough, the staff were on it the next day. The staff that helped me with my lease were phenomenal - kind and caring, sweet, honest, and they helped me find the unit that fit me- I can't recommend them enough. It was a world of difference from other lease offices I walked into where the staff couldn't be bothered to say hi, and seemed rude or like they didn't want to be there. As an added bonus- Altamont has trails nearby, beautiful views, is safe and secure as a gated community, and is very pet friendly. I highly recommend checking out Altamont if you are looking for a place in Happy Valley.

Thank you for your thoughtful review! We are thrilled that you enjoy living here at Altamont Summit. Please let us know if you ever need anything.
I am a recent former resident that lived at Altamont for almost 12 years, so there had to be some good reasons to stay so long right? Pros: - Location, location, location! It's right off 205 and close to many businesses and shopping areas on 82nd, but at the same time it is far enough away that it's relatively quiet and not a lot of street noise. - The apartment buildings are clean, well kept and well lit at night, and the same goes for the common areas. - Current management and staff are very responsive to residents, and I feel like they genuinely care about residents' concerns. - Maintenance is typically very quick to respond to requests when something is broken. My fireplace went out in the winter one year and they came to my apartment within 10 minutes to fix it. Cons: - Parking, as others have mentioned. Also due to the sheer size of the community, having enough visitor parking spots to accommodate guests coming over was always been a problem. If someone did park in my reserved spot, it was a hassle finding somewhere else to park until the violator left or could be towed. - Theft and particularly car break-ins were a problem in recent years. Management tried to address this with evening security patrols. I personally have not experienced any incidents but known others that have. No apartment community is going to be perfect and I don't doubt the experiences others have detailed in some of the negative reviews. Through the years I saw the turnover in management and staff, and sometimes the care and attention to the residents' experience suffered. But overall the positives far outweighed the negatives in my time here! And I'd like to give a shout out to Aaron and Jessica for making the move-out process simple and hassle-free for me as well! Thank you!

Lived here for less than a year and had to leave because of mice infestation that was a problem as soon as we moved in. It’s unfortunate because the apartments & amenities are very nice but not worth the health risk of living with mice. Management failed to ever fix the issue. We were also charged a ridiculous move out fee of over $1000 on top of our $900 deposit considering we lived there for less than a year… would definitely recommend staying clear from this place. Take your business to an apartment that actually cares about your health & wellbeing!

Moved in and many things were wrong with our apartment, they let 20 people at a time reserve the small hot tub, and packages get lost and cars get broken into in this “secure” complex
Property Manager at Altamont Summit Apartment Homes, Responded To This Review
Hello, I would first like to apologize for any negative experience you may have had thus far, as it is our number one priority to provide the best experience possible. Per COVID protocols, we allow 20 people in the pool area at one time, a maximum of 10 in the pool, and only 1 person or one household at a time in the hot tub. We do not permit more than this in the hot tub. If you ever see an excess number of people in the pool or hot tub, please let us know and we will be happy to address it the best we can. We are unaware of widespread package thefts, as we do have package lockers in the community and those that do not end up there are typically left at the door of the home. While we are not immune to misdelivered packages, the event is rare and we do everything we can to prevent that. If you have any information about theft or misdelivery, please let us know and we will work with our mail carrier to improve the situation. Lastly, we do not advertise as a secure complex, as security cannot be guaranteed anywhere; however, we have a nightly courtesy patrol for our community and take several other measures to prevent any issues from happening. I apologize again for any issues you have experienced thus far and I'd love to speak with you directly. I can be reached at amarinovich@elevatetoaltamont.com. I hope to hear from you soon. Sincerely, Aaron Marinovich Community Manager

I’ve lived here for YEARS and the management gets worse every change. They refuse to hold packages and find a COVID safe way to get them to residents because the lockers they have are just not enough. I cannot tell you how many residents are missing packages and management just doesn’t care. Parking is wretched, they got rid of their amazing maintenance staff and now if something doesn’t work their maintenance staff doesn’t finish the job or has to come back multiple times. They are making us pay the same rent even though we can’t use the gym after their office hours. They refuse to even discuss solutions that are WITHIN guidelines for COVID. They kept creating rules that are not stated in our lease agreements yet don’t hold people accountable to not smoking in their units or 20ft from buildings which is in the agreement. They also increased rent DURING Covid if you had to sign a new lease. They claim Luxury apartments but it’s not don’t bother moving here the management doesn’t care. They don’t actually find solutions for anything. The current manager is completely cold and unapproachable. Their are break ins in cars all the time, even though it’s a gated complex. They don’t turn the evening lights on till it’s already too dark to see. The staff used to care. They spent all last year working on trying to get hood Yelp reviews by incentivizing with a gift card. There’s a reason you find so few reviews. For the price you pay for a parking lot view it isn’t worth it.

Hi there, thank you for sharing your feedback with us and we are sorry to hear about your experience at our community. We understand your frustrations with the package situation and are working towards a better solution. We would also love for our amenities to open back up, but for the safety of our team members and residents we have to follow the CDC and local guidelines which state that the gym cannot be open at this time. I would like the opportunity to discuss any of the other issues you may be facing. Please reach out to me directly at amarinovich@elevatetoaltamont.com. Thank you. -Aaron Marinovich, Community Manager
Having found and rented this apartment it prior to actually moving across state lines, I relied heavily on the staff at Altamont Summit for various needs from measuring countertop heights and porch dimensions, to coordinating new furniture deliveries in the day or two prior to my arrival, and asking for an assortment of recommendations around town. Madison and Christina made this aspect of my move the best and easiest part of it. They seemed genuinely happy to help and were more than accommodating. Their communication and level of service have been and continue to be incredible. The apartment itself and grounds are all fantastic - large, comfortable and very well-kept. Like all apartments, you can absolutely hear your neighbors - I've even been tempted to ask my upstairs neighbors to remove their shoes when they're home, but have, of course, refrained, and my side neighbor's snore lulls me to sleep - and guest parking can be sparce. There are a good number of spots at the community entrance, and they're well spaced within the property, but residents often occupy them with their extra cars. I've been told this is something Management is working on. The community is also super close to 205, has beautiful views, and everything you could possibly need is just at the bottom of the hill.
My girlfriend had only been in the apartment for a couple of weeks when her bike was stolen from the bike holder in front of our apartment. It was locked but that didn't stop them. We were shocked and dismayed that this could even occur in a gated complex that was supposedly a low-crime area. One of the office staff, Leena, was super nice and did her best in the situation. Unfortunately, now we don't feel safe there.
