Property Ratings at Ambassador Studio Apartments
Lisa, the landlord, is probably the best landlord you can get. She is super fun, caring, and will respond very quickly to anything you need to talk about. They charge extremely reasonably for having a full kitchen and a nice bathroom. The closet is also very large and should easily accommodate anyone. The rooms themselves are the perfect size for one person and have everything needed to live comfortably. Distance to campus is pretty much unbeatable and practically the same as the "on campus" apartments. I do want to warn any other women who would be walking to and from campus to carry some sort of pepper spray or the like. The crime in the neighborhood (and really just the city) can be pretty scary but the apartment itself is very safe. They even have some volunteer men to walk you to the building entrance from your car if desired! Here's the reason why I had to take a star off: While the maintenance workers are really nice, they can be very slow to fix anything that you need done. And sometimes the job they do can be a bit mediocre as mold in the room was not properly taken care of. When stinkbug season came around, instead of fixing the windows they instead just put some foil duct tape around the edges (which did fix the issue but could have been better). Overall the place is unbeatable in terms of price for what you get. I would highly recommend this place to students coming in!
My first time moving off campus, I was looking for somewhere close, convenient, and affordable. I was given all three when I first visited the Ambassador Studios. The interior is perfect for a neat and tidy one person livable space. The proximity to school and pricing was unbeatable. Not to mention I gained a trusting bond with my landlord. This is important to me living on my own and knowing I can rely on the property manager to help with ANY issue possible. Happy to have found this place.
Ambassador studios is the best place to live. It’s always great to find good and supportive management who cares about their tenants. Even though I am far away from home I don’t miss it so much because ambassador studios feels exactly at home. ?? Lisa.
Property Manager at Ambassador Studio Apartments, Responded To This Review
We are really glad you like it here! It's important to us to make everyone feel welcome and safe. :)
I can't say enough about Lisa. Always responds in a timely manner and gives enough notice on all issues that may affect you and your neighbors. Always ready to help and is on top of any and all maintenance issues! The rooms themselves are nice, with a fully furnished kitchen (which I made great use of) and a full bathroom with great water pressure and hot water. All in all, a nice place to stay!
Property Manager at Ambassador Studio Apartments, Responded To This Review
Awww, thanks for the kind words! I pretty much love my job. :)
Lisa was always easy to contact and made it easy to move in. The apartment is great for students and anyone looking for a reliable place to live.
The apartment is quiet, a good environment for students. The apartment complex is a walking distance to campus, which saves students who have cars some cash that would have been used to buy campus decal for parking. The maintenance guy and Landlords are approachable and friendly.
I have rented from Lisa and Pieter for the last 10 years. Looking around Carbondale I could not find a place in my budget with enough kitchen space and a full bathroom. My utility bill is consistently low. The building is very well maintained and appliances are fixed or replaced as needed. Having a front door that locks and security cameras that are checking regularly make me feel comfortable to live by myself. Laundry facility in the basement is a life saver as I don’t have to go to a laundry mat and feel the prices are fair considering you don’t have to leave home. I’ve had several friends come rent from Ambassdor Studios and all of them loved it. The building is quiet and most tenants keep to themselves. I appreciate coming home after my long days knowing I can sit and watch tv or read without a party going on. I could go on and on about how wonderful these people are to rent from.
This is a generally quiet and comfortable place to live. Most tenants keep to themselves or are generally very nice. The inside/outside of the building including the parking lot have active cameras and are checked regularly which made me feel safe and was a good selling point. The doors leading to the building were securely locked at all times as well as all units having knob locks & deadbolts. Parking is next to the building and I never had an issue finding a spot to park my car. It’s close to campus but far enough to not have a lot of traffic/noise. While the office hours are minimal, the landlords and maintenance man were always on the property to help me if I needed- even at odd times/weekends. Peter and Lisa are kind and want their tenants to be happy and comfortable. They are conscious of each persons hardships and are willing to be flexible within reason, which is rare in my opinion. They regularly spray for bugs and the building/general areas were cleaned as well in my time living there. It’s affordable especially for what you get and the quality of the people running it. Maintenance was always helpful and timely- Ray is a fantastic worker. It’s definitely not a place that wants to take your money and leave you in a bad situation- the people here actually care and listen to you. If you prefer privacy, quiet, and a decent space to yourself this is the most affordable place for a student to be.
I did my PhD at SIU for 4 years and never regretted choosing Ambassador Studio Apartments as my residence. This property is a sweet stop in terms of it’s proximity to the university, public transportation, and grocery shopping. Landlords are reliable and friendly people, most of your maintenance requests will be satisfied in a timely manner. The price is excellent, given the combination of factors mentioned above. While it is a small studio, no space is wasted and it is used in the most efficient manner possible. Kudos to people who designed it! Highly recommended! :)
Really great experience with landlords and maintenance staff. Prompt and professional responses to repairs and questions. Super friendly!
I lived at one of their properties while I was going to SIU a few years ago. The location was great! So close to campus and to the downtown area. The landlords were also very responsive when we needed anything from them and the rent was very reasonable, especially compared to a lot of other places in the area. I highly recommend them!
Landlords and maintenance staff are very nice people and they listen to tenants petitions. Pest control was VERY effective. My electricity bill was super low so it was easy to stay on a budget. 10 minutes walking from campus/5 minutes cycling. Close to a supermarket and a bus stop, which is convenient if you don’t have a car in Carbondale.
I lived in Carbondale for two and half years, I moved 7 times in less than 15 months due to multiple reasons and issue with apartment, houses and landlords until I come to rent with Ambassador studio's. The landlords are honest, kind and very considerate. They changed my carpet and water heater and window screens. They spray for roaches every months and they keep the building and parking area safe with cameras. They check cameras regularly and don't allow anything bad go unnoticed. They considered each renters situation and needs and provided mattress and frame for students. My one year stay at their complex was very comfortable and I recommend anyone who wants to have a headache free living in Carbondale to choose Ambassador Studio apartment. Thank you Mr Pieter and Mrs Lisa.
