Property Ratings at The Flats at Inverness
My roommate moved in about a year ago. This week they decided with virtually no warning to cut free parking in half, for no apparent reason then to sell back that parking at an exorbitant rate. Other apartments in the area sell individual garages for the same price they are selling a covered spot in a parking deck, and are now charging $50 a month for a spot that was free before. It is not even that they needed to limit the amount of free parking to prioritize residents, the now paid parking was never full. It is a fairly obvious cash grab, so anyone looking at this place needs to know they are willing to make drastic changes to policies with less than a week's notice. Up until this week, we were ok with some of the stuff that was annoying, like constantly changing package policy, etc. It was relatively affordable, especially compared to other places in the area, and our apartment had dated decor and some peeling paint, but overall nothing to be upset about. Some friends in the complex complained about maintainance issues, and it took them several tries to fix a leaky toilet, but overall none of this was worth the hassle of finding another place.
Amli was pretty good up until the pandemic, when rents started inflating beyond belief and standards fell by the wayside. While I would ordinarily go into detail about slapdash turnover, superficial remodeling, badly insulated windows, sloppy paint work, door striker plates not being set right, the gym becoming more basic and useless over time, or the garbage compactor regularly jamming, I instead have to talk about something much worse. For well over a month a neighbor has taken to hotboxing inside of their apartment and using the vent fan in their bathroom to blow it out. Due to leaks and the age of the building, this vents it directly into my master bath and bedroom. I have asthma, and my other half has severe asthma, and since it makes us sick we can't even use about half of our apartment. Bringing this concern to the attention of the office has led to to weeks of being placated ,that waned into poorly veiled frustration from them. It seems that they're more concerned with the imposition I'm making on them to take a report that someone is making me sick in this "smoke free community" than how sick I've become. Between headaches, having to use my inhaler, or being on oxygen, I've become much more frustrated with not having a clean safe place to live than they were with me asking them to help me. I should add that the "Smoke-free lease addendum" clearly states "Manager is not a guarantor of smoke-free environment." I wrongly thought Amli was a place I would pay a premium to not have to read fine print, though it seems I was wrong. After a month of this I'm not sure what else there is to do except try to warn other people who have respiratory illnesses or sensitivity to tobacco and cannabis smoke to stay well away, and to tell anyone else who might be moving here to avoid smoking that it's a thinly veiled lie, carefully crafted to avoid any accountability on their parts at all. I suppose if I was a pothead I'd give this place 5 stars. The maintenance crew is certainly a bright spot, but it doesn't make up for being sick in my own home. At any rate, the trash compactor regularly jams, the gym isn't great, parking is crowded (so you have to buy a paid spot), the fit and finish and paint quality is "we paid a contractor and didn't check after they were done", no valet trash, and the people in the office wrinkle their nose & clinch their jaw at asking them to follow through on the whole smoke-free thing. Certainly not worth the premium they charge.
Depends on what you’re looking for. My neighbor constantly played loud music (after apartment office hours) and eventually just had to get used to it. They did some things to accommodate, but kept saying they needed to be there to hear it themselves. Overall not a good experience.
I've lived in apartments all over this country, from NYC to Los Angeles. This by far has been one of the best move-in experiences I've ever had. The office and maintenance staff are great. I had to choose an apartment sight unseen and I worked with Brad from the Leasing Office. He was patient, knowledgeable, and upfront. Everything he told me has been true. He even took the time to send me photos of my apartment after I had signed the lease. Awesome! The neighborhood is quiet, very safe, and clean. I couldn't have picked a better place to start my Denver adventure. Research told me AMLI has a great reputation for its property management and so far they've lived up to every bit of that reputation.
I have been living at AMLI Inverness for about 3 months now and I have a lot to say. The office staff is awesome and always super helpful and the apartment floor plan is perfect for us and our needs. The reason my rating in so low is because of the people that live here. I first started with someone leaving a passive aggressive note on our door about our recently adopted puppy. She had been barking on the patio at another dog barking outside but it wasn't for very long and I quickly brought her inside. The person left a very nasty note while I was home, they could have simply knocked on the door first to resolve the problem face to face and then if no one was home leave a note. The next thing that happened was someone reported to the office that we had left a bag of trash outside our door. The trash is on the other side of the complex and we were gathering all of our trash to take it all in one go. We took it out in a timely manner and again if they would have simply knocked on the door and resolved it face to face it would have been more respectful and effective. I really enjoyed living here until this neighbor(s) started leaving nasty notes and reporting us to the office. I feel as though I'm in a kindergarten class with a tattle tale student. If this continues we will not be renewing our lease. I'm upset that nasty neighbors have ruined this complex for me.
This place has great location access to I-25 highway. Great area to walk to local restaurants and easy access to the Centennial Airport. The pool is one of my favorites. It has a big lounging area and stays open til 10 at night. The fitness gym has everything you want. The staff is great when you need things fixed. They are at your door step the same day. Only 20 minutes to downtown Denver.
Decent community overall, but location is what makes it. The actual apartments are average, but the price is well above average. I came here for the school and that's what I got. I recognize it could be worse, but it was very reasonable for location.
Perfect building to walk to Restaurants and Golf course. Has a great pool.
I have lived at Amli for 2 months now and have been so very happy with the apartment the staff and the complex..The area is taken care of so nice and clean. I feel very happy to say this is my home.. I feel safe and good about raising my son here and the apartment is close to the higway and light rail for your conveneince but not to close to cause traffic issues or noise problems. When my son and I want sunday brunch or pizza we have 2 restaurants within walking distance to choose from..Over all We couldnt be happier to call Amli our home.
