Outer North Charleston sits at the center of the city of North Charleston and lies just under 13 miles to the northwest of nearby downtown Charleston. An easy 20-minute drive via Interstate 26 takes residents into downtown Charleston and its multitude of restaurants and bars. The Charleston Air Force Base resides at the center of the outer North Charleston neighborhood, and due to this proximity, many current and former military personnel make the neighborhood their home. Home styles typically range from either mid-1900s ranch styles to between one- and two-story homes built in the 2000s.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. I moved into an apartment that was advertised as available. Did a walk-through before applying (about a week before move in.) Pointed out several issues during the tour, not a single one was addressed before I moved in. My washer and dryer were not delivered until 3 weeks after moving in (management eventually gave me quarters to go to a shared laundry facility after my third complaint, but did not pro-rate my rent even though I was told there would be a w/d when I moved in.) I've been here a month and there hasn't been a single day the A/C has worked. Maintenance advised me to set the thermostat lower than the temp I wanted it inside (even though this would suggest the A/C isn't working properly.) Even following this advice my apartment is regularly between 78-80 when I get home while the thermostat is set to 70 (btw I just want it to be 74 inside.) Maintenance has been to my apartment 3 times, but not done anything to address this issue. The office manager insinuated I'm being unreasonable (told me it's not that bad in my apartment and her place has the same issue), but refused to answer whether or not it was management's view that expecting my apartment to be 74 degrees throughout the day was unreasonable.

While the pictures paint a nice apartment, behind the scenes you will find cabinets that are all scuffed up, paint jobs that look like a two year old did it, pet waste and garbage everywhere and excuses excuses excuses. The location is convenient, pool is nice if you can get in. If those two things are high on your list you will probably be ok here

This is a friendly, quiet ,family oriented ,pet friendly community with great amenities. Ex: swimming pool , exercise room. The staff is also professional and courteous, eager to assist you . The grounds are well maintained. The apartments are spacious with outdoor porches included . I love my 2 bed 2 bath apt it has all I need especially the central air/ heat and the rent is reasonable being that I came from New Jersey and relocated to South Carolina.
Ive been living here for 5 months now and have only good things to say about this complex. While there are some things that could be better I have nothing to complain about. The apartments are spacious, extremely good looking and comfortable. Reasonable rent and pretty good neighbors. The things on my wishlist are better neighborhood events and thicker walls. Besides that everything about this complex is exactly what I was looking for.
I have lived in Ansley Commons for the past year and recently released for another year. I moved in when the complex was still under construction because it was so new and yet the managers in the front office are so kind and good at what they do, that you never felt like construction was going on around you. Nothing was ever in the way of you coming or going, all amenities were always available and any problems or questions you had were fixed or answered within 24 hours or less. The location is perfect, I am not far from any stores or big cities and work is an easy 15 minutes away. When I released, new ownership hadtaken over but that didn't matter because I was and am completely happy and satisfied with both the apartment complex and the staff. This is my first experience living in an apartment and I couldn't ask for a better place to live!
