I had nothing but problems living here. My AC was out for weeks before they fixed it, I was charged absurd cleaning fees from the security deposit even though I left the apartment clean, and they never answer the phone. Many of the staff members are rude and not helpful at all. I wish I had never lived here.
STAY AWAY. TRUST ME. Let’s get to the easy to fix stuff first. Pool is never open. It’s the middle of June and and we are having 100 degree days and there is still no update to when it will be open. The gate has been wide open for almost a 9 months now. Still hasn’t been fixed. No one is enforcing pet clean up, like literal dog crap is everywhere. Grills haven’t maintained or cleaned in some time. Broken sprinklers in the apartments. AC units frequently go out. On-site Management personal changes every 3 months like clock work, if they even last that long. No one has any idea how to help residents once they are there. The RUDE, completely inept property management group who owns this place is ‘West Shore’ they refuse to help or give a call back. They are the WORST.
Since signing the lease in October 2021 — worst living experience I have ever gone through and I’m paying and arm and a leg for it. Management has extremely poor communication and the show rooms they have is a complete lie, all the units have outdated appliances, flooring/blinds/countertops all outdated. They are timely with tacking on ridiculous fees (valet trash service costs are never consistent, they charge what they want) but seem to always be “slammed” when it comes to actually managing a property and the tenants. I should have known when it took them 2 months to actually hand over my keys — my original lease had been signed in late August but they’re so bad at managing, my unit wasn’t actually “ready” until October. I use “ready” very loosely because I had to spend 2 days hard scrubbing the entire apartment … there was still wall dust everywhere and there was even an extra awning and nails on the floor when I first walked in, I had to fight to get somebody to come clean the carpets because there was still food and hair all in the carpet, which was also stained. Neighbors have complained about management — the tenant portal is the absolute WORST. It was a 3 month battle to come fix my dryer that never worked when I moved in, which got replaced with a non working dryer and when I finally got one that did work I received a call while at work that they were entering my apartment without my discretion to replace the already replaced dryer. Since communication was so bad.. by the time I even got in contact with anybody they had already entered my unit just to replace it with a lesser working dryer so now. This entire experience has been so bad. Absolutely terrible.
I'm writing this as an applicant not as a resident. I applied on a Saturday it's now Friday and I'm sitting in the parking lot writing this review. Listen please be aware of this property! I applied on paper and emailed all documents needed before I left the property. Kimberly told me that she would be in contact with me on Monday but no later than Tuesday. Guess what? I received an email on Tuesday saying we still need documents! THE SAME DOCUMENTS I EMAILED TO THEM ON SATURDAY! Once I received this email I immediately call the property...no answer! I keep calling...no answer! I email...no answer! I get in the car to leave work early and call when I get in the car and Kimberly finally answers. She says we have everything let me reach out to my manager and I'll call you back today. Guess what? No call back or email! So it's Friday I get to the property and speak with Jessica she goes and speak with the manager and she tells her my name. I hear the manager say "not again?" If you are saying not again that means you have received my voicemails and emails why not respond? I ask for my application fee back and the manager says I can't get it back because I have already been screened. So if I've been screened that means you should've contacted me with a response to my application, right? Listen I understand they are new and may be overwhelmed but providing proper customer service is not hard.
I've lived in this complex for 8 months now, 5 of those months the front gate has remained wide open. The property managers have been complacent in getting it repaired to the detriment of its residents. In the past month and a half there have been several vehicles broken into and the wide open gate has been a serious contributing factor to this. Do not move here if you wish to feel safe while at home.
Perry is Exceptional! Thanks for Everything! The Best experience my husband and I have had thus far!! See Perry if you are searching for a place to Live!
The only thing that is luxurious about these apartments are the gates (when they are fully functional). There are several major issues with this property, not to mention the turnover rate at this property is ridiculous; over 10 different staff members in the matter of a year. 1. Be on top of your online account; I was being over charged for rent for months and took management weeks to correct it. Also, when I moved out, they tried to add bogus charges to my final statement and dragged their feet with correcting the issue. 2. The property staff (Management, Leasing Agents, and Maintenance staff) are unresponsive and lock the office during business hours just not to assist residents/potential residents. I’ve called the property 2 months ago, a total of 20x (left several messages to receive a call back) and still as of October 2021, I have yet to hear anything from the property. 3. Trash is not picked up as stated in the leasing agreement; every single month at least 4 -5 days out of the month trash will not picked up at your building. Office staff tells residents to take their own trash, but you’re paying $25+ per month for this service (No you can’t opt out of this). 4. Residents constantly violating leasing agreements. There is animal waste left in the breezeways, loud music being played all hours of the night, and the distribution and use of illegal substances. Property staff couldn’t care any less. This property has to be one of the worst, if not the worst property in Charlotte. PLEASE TAKE THESE REVIEWS SERIOUSLY, I didn’t and regretted it later. This was my first- and last-time leasing with not only the property, but also the company as a whole West Shore, LLC.
High turnover in actual office personnel who are great by the way. Upper Management either fires them or they quit.. Office people notify management of issues and they do not give them the tools to help the actual tenant, they just want them to make excuses…Before Westshore took over, this place was great, and things got fixed that day. Now, not at all. A lot of great residence have moved out and I will be too once my lease is up… I have never been late with payments, always early or on time, I’m a quiet tenant who goes to work and just wants to come home to peace, not to a hot apartment because of a broken air conditioner (3rd time now), and a tenant above me who sounds like he’s dropping weights, or a medicine ball literally ALL day and 11:30-1:30am… Again, 4-5 years ago this place was great, now the only thing you can count on is your apartment or car being broken into and rent going significantly up each year and the quality going down… Also extra charges they don’t tell you about at time of signing lease, expect to pay 50-70$ due to extra water bill charge, extra trash charges-which the Sunday-Thursday pick up is a joke, pretty much can guarantee one of those days every week someone’s trash does not get pick up, but you are still charged, the Gate on the Nations Ford rd side has NEVER worked consistently more than 2 months in the last 5 years, but yet that’s an amenity right??. This place had wonderful potential, so unfortunate the wrong hands have taken over it…. There are a lot of great apartments in Charlotte that will treat their places and people much better and for the same price, this isn’t one of them anymore.
Upper management of this place is an absolute joke. The office staff have always been nice and friendly and do what they can, but in the 7 months I've lived here and the few months leading up to my move, there have been three full turnovers of the entire office staff because they quit after only a few months. That should tell you a lot about the incompetence of the people they're stuck working for. When moving in, I didn't receive my mailbox key for almost three weeks. My dryer did not work either, and it took maintenance over a month to get to me to fix it, and even afterwards the dryer still barely functioned. My garbage disposal was also clogged at one point, and maintenance didn't get out to fix that for weeks either. Also for whatever reason, your key fob won't let you into the other apartment complex which I can only imagine was also a decision made by the incompetent management. Oh, and my recent favorite: if you have your car in one of the garages and there's a power outage, you can't get in. Only the leasing office has a key to access them, so good luck if you're ever in an emergency when the power's out and you can't get to your car. If you have other options for places to live, stay far away from this place. Just about the only thing going for it is that the apartments are decent. If you need literally anything from management, you can expect nothing but excuses left and right and constant delays. The owners do not deserve your money. If this was any other kind of business, they would not survive.
I get that things around the community can get busy, but we’ve been living here for exactly 9 weeks today. NONE of our work orders submitted were ever fixed. All the ones labeled “COMPLETE” online were either taken care of by me or the ones the maintenance crew weren’t able to fix when they came in our unit. The rest of them were labeled “CANCELLED” for no apparent reason. So things that could be done better would be punctuality of work orders or at least send the residents some updates, updates that the staff will actually fulfill. That will result in some improved customer service. The apartment complex is pretty decent. Spacious dwelling place and close to uptown and other popular Charlotte destinations. Landscaping taken care of, friendly staff in the office. Surprisingly, even though the complex is by the main road you can barely hear the traffic.
I have lived here for 6 months and it has been one thing after another. After initially finding the unit that I wanted and filling out the lease agreement, the approval process took longer than expected and they gave away my unit to someone else and at the last minute put me in what I was told was an identical unit with identical rent price. Upon move-in I quickly noticed it was not identical but was a handicap-accessible unit. They told me it was not listed like that in their system. The carpet in the corner of the living room was also soaking wet and after putting in an emergency work order, the issue went unaddressed for 3 days! We found out the wet carpet was due to a leak. A leak happening for 3 days! I started to meet with the property manager and upper management at the management office to fix this. They promised I would receive new vinyl flooring and a vanity to make up for the bathroom not having one (due to it being ADA accessible and not knowing about it). Instead I was told I would have to pay for the vanity and my existing carpet was cleaned not replaced with vinyl like what was promised. They also had to cut into my drywall to fix the leak and just duct taped the drywall back into place. To this day, it still hasn't been fixed after submitting multiple work orders and having multiple conversations about it with maintenance. Aside from my personal experience renting here, the property is disgusting. There is pet waste all over the property including the sidewalks! The gym is pitiful and disgusting even to be an apartment gym (which we all know is lack luster anyway). They advertise as a gated community but in the 6 months I've been here the back gates have never been closed. They are actually tied open now so they do not close. The property manager has no power to do anything. I called to request a notification be sent out asking people pick up their pet waste and they said corporate has to approve the messages we send out so there has been no communication sent out. DO NOT LIVE HERE!
Here is one thing people need to realize about this place. The management is completely incompetent, lazy and rude. Do not try out this place in the hopes that by the time you sign the lease they might have different staff. After the takeover by West Shore LLC, this place has changed some aspects of their management team multiple times since 2018 and all have been atrociously inept. That in and of itself is responsible for majority of the reasons behind the negative reviews. This mismanaged complex is dirty, unsafe, and overpriced for what you're getting. Save yourself the headache from having to deal with management about literally anything.
This apartment complex is advertising falsely. They will say they are a gated community but they leave their gates wide open for anyone to get in. Also, if you need to end your lease earlier than originally planned, you will not only have you stay for 90 days but then will charge you two additional months, when they would certainly be charging a new tenant for your unit by then. Will be making a BBB complaint.
All, Please be aware if you have pets at Ansley falls you are most likely going to be conned out of over 1300 dollars. We recently moved out, no stains no smells, our dog is trained and were told that an invisible, stain, that had no smell was found and they had to replace the ENTIRE carpet, their evidence was a hand written note, no photos or proof of any kind, we have been told tales of black lights etc. The short story here is there really is no way to get around this its clearly an added fee as part of having a pet, and like us you are going to have to fight this in the courts So on top of the massive crime (how many of you have had your cars broken into) the constant gate issues which lead to the massive amount of crime, and all the other issues (garbage cans anyone!!) you have this to look forward too, oh and lets not forget the lost packages, dog mess all over the place etc In Short don't move here, you will absolutely regret it and its a year of your life you will never get back, there are much better places close by with better rent and far better management staff
We went for a tour of the property and found it to be very nice. The grounds were clean and the area seemed to be safe. It is on a main drive that heads into Charlotte proper so that could be an issue making a turn out of the complex during rush hour. For the rent, you seemed to get a bit of luxury. All in all, a very nice property
