Do not rent here!! The gates never work, there are homeless people living in the stairwells. Maintenance requests go unacknowledged for weeks. The leasing office never answers calls. The gym is only open when the leasing office is open, so if you have a 9-5 job you’re paying for a gym you can’t use. DO NOT RENT HERE

Cons: - Dog park trash / floods when it rain. No grass in the park AT ALL. - Rarely any dog bags throughout the property - Both gates are always broke - Kids and parents take over the entrance and exit during school year - Maintenance parks in front of leasing office taking up residents/visitor spots. - Maintenance request takes at least a month to be completed IF they actually do the request - Maintenance staff change like the seasons - Ground workers pick and choose which trash they pickup . Pickups a cup but leave the straw, drive by a bunch of trash for days before picking it up, etc - No cameras around the property - Security good for nothing - Cars get broken into - Fetch (forced package system) a scam - Deers randomly scroll through - Apt building confusing . No apt numbers on any buildings. Playing roulette guessing the correct apt building - Stray cats all around - You may see a lost dog once a month - No lights on bridge over the pond. Pitch black at night walking - Leasing staff are like salesmen. Once you move in, they’re good for nothing. They show no sympathy or empathy. - Stairs and ground disgusting. Power washing may happen once every 2 years - You’ll see a sheriff 3 times a month serving an apt an eviction notice (Evictions filed on the 12th of every month) - Never plan to go hangout at the pool. It may or may not be open . Open randomly throughout the day if it’s open. Pros: - Close to Walmart and Target - 2 malls close by (Southpark and Carolina Place Mall) - Great hot water - A lot of food options near by - Light rail 5 minutes drive - Close to 495 and 77 - Speaker in kitchen lights - Trash comes early in the morning most days - Kids on the property play together all year round
I have lived in this community for 5 years and ever since the complex was sold it has gone completely down hill. The gates work maybe one percent of the time! The breezeways are filthy and the staff is extremely unprofessional! Maintenance requests go completely unanswered or the service is crappy!
I’ve lived here for a couple of years now and i have very loud upstairs neighbors. They have no regard for anyone else around them. Fighting at 3 am, running and through the apartment, throwing things around. Sounds like body slams sometimes. This has gone on for months and the leasing office staff is ignoring me at this point. I’m sure there are records of the many times I’ve had to contact security. Not that it even matters. I can’t even sleep or have my goddaughter overnight because she gets so scared of the noise. Shynele, I met with your neighbor in reference to the noise issues that you are experiencing and reached out to you via email. I will call you this afternoon to discuss the outcome of the meeting.
I’ll start by saying the apartment we live in now worked with us. My job requires me to be out of town 90% of the time. The apartment we live in now needed us to come sign our lease on a Friday. I was out of town that Friday and they made an exception since they were closed on Saturdays to open on a Saturday for us just to come sign our lease. Now lets start with Anson. We were showed a model unit and was told that would be what we were getting, except a bigger floor plan. We then was sent the virtual tour of the bigger unit that we would be getting. We got approved on Tuesday and were told we both had to come in by Friday to sign our lease. We live out of state and asked could we come Saturday and we were told NO. We had to fly in that Wednesday to fill out our paperwork and pay the deposit, which was such an inconvenience because we had to fly in, get a rental car just to come sign the paperwork and then fly back home that night. Once we arrived we asked if we could see the unit we would be getting even though we understood it wasn’t ready we just wanted to see the space. Gabriela kept telling us no because they don’t allow if the unit isn’t ready. After expressing my frustration with not feeling comfortable signing the lease before seeing it she later told us they had one ready that somebody didn’t move into yet that we could see. After seeing the unit it was COMPLETELY different then what we were told we would be getting. We asked if there was another unit we could get that looked like the one we were told we were getting. The next day we were told they had one available, but instead of a move in on Friday the unit wouldn’t be ready until Tuesday which wasn’t a problem for us because we live out of state and wouldn’t be able to move in for another week anyways! We asked if we could proceed with signing the lease and keeping everything as is and whenever it was ready we would come get the keys. They said they would not do that we would have to move the move in date to Tuesday and by doing that the rent price would go up! Absolutely ridiculous! It’s not our fault we were showed TWICE a unit we were told we were getting and then shown something different! we decided to go else where and was told we would now get our deposit back 30-45 days! They could have worked with us and let us move in 4 days later. And good luck trying to get anyone to answer the phones! Resident or not!

The number one reason why we left this place was the maintenance, or lack thereof. Our washer broke, my ceiling in the bathroom developed a water bubble that burst, the microwave died twice, they broke our stovetop trying to fix the microwave the first time and then it took 6 months for them to even come and another two weeks to actually fix almost everything that I just listed (my ceiling was still not fixed from the water damage- this was after we put in several maintenance requests). A few months ago, our fuse box somehow exploded and started smoking in the middle of the night; our power and air conditioning was out so we called an emergency maintenance request. They didn’t fix anything, promised they’d have someone come by the end of the day, and no one came for a whole week until finally I personally went to the property manager; Even after that, the air conditioning wasn’t fully working and there was no hot water for that next week. They have these unnecessary rules: like “you only get one guest pass” (and if you lose it, you don’t get another one)- if you have a guest visiting without the guest pass, their car will be towed in the middle of the night and yours will be too if you don’t have a company sticker attached to your windshield, you have to wear a pool band to the pool, you have to pay for a fetch program to deliver your packages (and it’s supposed to prevent theft but it doesn’t matter because they get stolen anyway), etc. The key fob never works, the main gate is always broken which is fine cause again… your key fob never works, and the rent is astronomical. Everyone is so disorganized and nothing ever gets done because the community is so large, the pool is never cleaned, the complex does not feel safe because of active drug-use/violence in the parking lot. I’ve never had such an awful experience at an apartment complex before in my life and I hope this deters someone from making the same mistake I did in moving here.

When I moved in everything was going smoothly. Since then, the front office is impossible to get a hold of. They never call you back. I don’t think they even check their messages. My water heater kept going out and after the third time they finally replaced it. However when they did they completely trashed my apartment. They helped themselves to my water, dug around in my kitchen knocking over and spilling spices on my counter, took everything under my sink out, peed on the side of my toilet, left the seat up, and took two of my hand towels. Worse of all they left two empty beer cans in my bathroom. I took pictures of all of this and went to the leasing office to report and the leasing manager told me that she asked her maintenance men about it and they told her they didn’t do it so there was nothing she could do. These people do not care about their residents.

I do apologize that they forgot to put the baskets under your bathroom sink once they were finished with your service request.

Due to the issues with maintenance and services forced upon, ie..you have to pay for without an option to opt out. Just look up the review of one of the services “Fetch” the horrible stories are no an exaggeration. I would not recommend staying here at the current rental prices. And to be honest it’s not really the rental price but it’s the services provided that are not justifying the cost.

I just moved into the neighborhood and was promised safety and security and a place that I would be proud to call home. Instead I've been here less than a month and within the first ten days my car was broken into and the glass was shattered. My personal belongings were stolen all because there is no actual safety or peace of mind here. When I brought up my concerns to management about the lack of security measures being taken to ensure the safety and peace of my mind of the reside ts in this community. I was met with the same corporate lack of empathy and care for their residents. Before I signed my lease it was all smiles and promises but upon moving into this community my work orders haven't been filled and the apartments wasn't even completed. Their was paint missing from the cabinets. The shower curtain rode wasn't secure at all. The floor was warped and the apartment smelled of Marijuana. This is supposed to be a smoke free community and it's supposed to be gated. You are sold the illusion of safety and given no guarantees that you are actually safe. My apartment door frame isn't even securely holding my door. When I reported the theft to insight security I was told they only observe and report and that its not their problem. They also stated that they are only here till 5:00 a.m l. And that's sometimes they leave early. Multiple cars have been broken Into and things have been stolen as reported by other residents. Management has stated that crime has no zipcode and they cannot guarantee our safety or our properties safety. Had I known about these break-ins I would never have signed my lease. The only person that's been helpful and genuinely seems to care about us is Tia.

Anson at the Lakes has been a rough experience for me. Quality of units is subpar with better auditing needed and gaps in services for trash valet and also with Fetch provider losing packages. Communication between maintenance and office seems to be inconsistent at best. All I can hope for is a quiet remainder of lease and hope not to encounter further issues.

Terrible experience, nothing positive to say about the Anson at the lakes. The leasing staffing is terrible, they don't care about customers, the maintenance people doesn't work. I moved since September 30 and still don't have a microwave. Very insecure community very noisy, very dirty hundreds of roaches everywhere

I don’t recommend. Bugs everywhere. Apartment outside isn’t unkept. Spiderwebs all outside the apartment. People shooting. Gate codes don’t work.

Thank you for the feedback. We’re sorry to hear you didn’t have a 5-star experience with us. We appreciate your comments and are listening. The weekly exterminating efforts have been doubled, two entire buildings are treated each week. The office is in constant communication with the exterminating company to identify any apartments with housekeeping issues which are addressed quickly. The access gates are damaged due to improper use by residents and guests. We strive to repair the gates swiftly, but at times, we must wait for parts to arrive.
This is a great community, it’s quiet and clean. staff is very friendly and quality of units are excellent.

Anson at the Lakes are renovated with nice appliances. However, it does sit in a community with a few crime disturbances here and there . Though these areas are mainly outside of the neighborhood up the road. It is gated, yet since moving in the gates are often open . I did report my concern to management, hopefully I can get some type of response about why this is or are at least a change to provide a better safety net for us residents here. Other than that, I love my apartment . It is big and spacious, and the added touches to the finished kitchen gives me the feel of living in a luxury uptown apartment.

This community is ok. Upon move in this apartment was infested with Roaches in which I had to take matters into my own hands because no one took it as an emergency. Still saw roaches after the treatment. Last tenants must’ve had animals, there is still animal hair all in and through the apartment. Outside of the apartment is filthy, my windows are dirty from bugs, and spider webs. The gates rarely closed, they recently started closing them. The outside of these buildings need to be pressure washed. Haven’t been here very long, and sometimes I don’t feel safe.

When I first moved to Anson it was amazing. Staff and management was awesome. My first six months of living here was awesome and any problems that I had were fixed. Fast forward a few months and there is new staff and management. Awful. I’ve had black mold in my bathroom for 7 months and I have called, I have complained, and sent emails but no one has come to fix it. Since the mold has been there for so long it has created a small hole that leaks out dookie water from the people upstairs. They looked at it but no one has fixed it and my nine month old and I have been having weird reactions from the mold. Anson is quick to evict people but when it come down to taking safety measures they do not care about you or your well-being even if a baby is involved.

Great community apt complex with children and all ages. Beautiful interior and good looking outside apt. complex. Great neighborhood, management and office staff.

Well, the community in general is great, from my personal point of view due to the area I live in, nice neighbors, quiet area, easy access in /out, gym 24/7 , it’s a great place to live.

Just moved in and already waiting for the lease to end. Nonstop problems and absolutely terrible service. Received the apartment with a broken front door lock, broken patio lock, broken toilet, broken washer, and who knows what will else will happen. It has only been 1 month… A “gated community” where the gate never works and is always open is completely useless. I’ve heard management say “we’re working on it” for months and months and reading other reviews shows this isn’t a new problem. Don’t understand at all how there are good reviews for this complex. Management is terrible, maintenance is terrible, and I will reporting this complex for my inexcusable experiences.
Nice community to call home,, and they show courtesy to residents.
The rent goes up 11% every year they even increased it during the height of covid and the property gets worse every year. Its supposed to be a gated community but the gates never work the breezeways are always filthy!

My experience was horrible . The apartment was not move in ready . Its taking over a month since move in for maintenance to respond. My rent has gone up three times in a month yet the apartment has had several electrical problems prior to move in that I was not informed about . Maintenance has not came to fixed any of my orders I put in . It took a month for an electrician to come out and fix the electrical problem. The office staff has no experience . However Stephanie has been helping me . Ive reached out to bells partners and still no response from them either .

The community is adequate living. Staff is helpful as possible and maintenance is decent. Rent pricing is decent But all in all a pretty good experience as of two months of living.

Anson at the Lakes has great potential. It is a gated community, regulate parking so a bunch of visitors dont take the spots, nice pools and fitness center, and nice kitchen appliances. Hopefully they make further upgrades and clean the breezeways and respond to maintenance requests faster.

I was looking forward to moving up in life and moving into a bigger, nicer apartment than what we had previously. The experience of enjoying a new apartment with newer appliances, spacious kitchen, went out the window immediately since we had to deal with a roach infestation. I dont know how the management thinks its okay to move people into a living condition like that. This not only ruined our experience but now im concerned of what may come if they dont deal with this issue as accurately as possible.... the idea of having to move again kills me but i am not going to be living in the middle of roaches thats for sure...

Apartment interiors are great. The lack of sidewalks with speeding cars everywhere and amount of garbage throughout, however, make it so you dont want to be outside and actually in the community.

I've been living at these apartments for about 20 years and management has been pretty fair with my rent and renewals. Hopefully, when I renew again they will give me the best possible rent where I will be happy to stay for another couple of years.

Overall my experience at Anson at the Lakes has been very good! I like the location, the maintenance that is given to the common areas in general, the kindness of the people who work in the administration and maintenance. It was a good decision to choose Anson as my home!

The gate is broken most of the time. There are a lot shootings happening in the apartment complex. My apartment and several of my neighbors got shot at a few months ago, and the police told me there are some really bad people living in the apartment. During the daytime it looks kinda nice, but the place is not worth the money.

An okay place to live. Some apartments have bug issues that can't be resolved. Even though it's a gated community the gate is always broken or not working. The features of the apartments are nice and the outdoor area is well maintained. Although the pandemic has hindered a few of its amenities, there is a hint of a sense of community and management is very polite and responsive in person. Overall this is average place to be, though for a short time/one year.

Camille was so helpful in providing information over the phone for my boyfriend! He planned to relocate to Charlotte temporarily for work and she was able to assist with the both of us living so far away. Even gave some great information about the city and nice hotels to stay when visiting.

An ok complex with terrible management. If you want to live in a place that doesnt enforce any rules and has ZERO security features then go ahead. Also if you have a dog, I feel sorry due to the lack of care of the park, it is disgusting.

The gate hardly ever works and is always open, parking sucks. Maintenance has poor quality work, the upgrades in the home are poor quality, theres paint splatters all over the wood floor. Everything is nicer at a glance. I had to make too many requests for broken or low quality things as a new tenant. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. It wasnt filthy when we moved in but it wasnt clean either. The placement of lights in the community is poor - one is right in front of the bedroom window.
