Property Ratings at Apartments @ 1220
I would give this property 0/5 stars if possible. The property manager (PM) is disrespectful and does not care about tenants. If you are not a Temple student you will be treated as subhuman and left to deal with sewage from upstairs apartments leaking into yours and damaging your personal property, if you're not a student I suggest you lie and say you are because he believes only Temple students are worth having their requests being taken care of as their parents are better suited to sue this man and the company for his wrongdoings. The PM does not respond to maintenance requests or reports and instead tried lying until I showed him email and video proof of damage as it was occurring. Do not trust this man and do not do any dealings with him in person or via phone, keep a record of everything (record it or do it by email)! Additionally, make sure to read your lease, PM tried giving me a bill for over a thousand when water leaked in from another apartment. As of March 2022 this building is falling apart with sewage leaks, garage doors that don't lock and allow anyone entry to the building for months, noisy tenants, no lights in the hallways for weeks, and horrible service. The only saving grace is the daytime concierge staff who actually care about their job and tenants, they are too good for this place. The overnight staff is just as bad as the lying PM.
0 stars!!! property manager is the absolute worst and such a liar. building is falling a part and they ignore all requests. save yourself the misery and live else where so you are not stuck with an early termination fee. Wish I never moved in
I'm not a negative person...I *wish* I could say better things about this building, but after a year-and-a-half, I feel I owe prospective residents the truth. This is a very old building that does not hesitate to show its age; Water leaks everywhere; Intermittent operation of elevators; Building heat is NOT sufficient for deep winter in the northeast; NO A/C, it's BYOWindowUnit here; *mice*, the garbage chute regularly backs up; management is 100% hands-off - I've never even met one of the staff; the dirtiest, loudest, most inconsiderate neighbors you can imagine (not all, to be fair, but the terrible ones overshadow the sweet ones); the surrounding neighborhood is filthy and depressing. I blame myself for my misery here - I failed to properly inspect the building and the local area before I moved because I was in a hurry. Positives: The building concierge is the most helpful and amiable gentleman you will ever meet; the fitness room is recently renovated with newER equipment; the area is walkable with all the transit access you could want; it's CHEAP ( until you go month to month in preparation to move out). I can't tell anyone not to move here. There are any number of reasons why one would choose to do so. Just don't make the mistake I did and rent here in haste. Walk the area, tour the building, MEET THE MANAGERS, scrutinize EVERYTHING, and only then decide if it's the place for you (if you do those things, you'll likely decide it isn't). Thanks for reading. Namaste
ceiling and walls leak everytime it rains! its been more than a year of complaining and submitting maintenance requests. they just close them and say its completed while doing nothing. finally they are saying they cant do anything and just keep paying rent????
Maintenance crew is nice but can't keep up with all the issues with the old building. Windows are not sealed off well which affects cooling/heating. When it rains heavily, water leaks considerably through them. Heating is not always regulated the best way (heating would stay on although it is quite warm or it wouldn't start soon enough on colder days). Because of some glitch in the system fire alarms are sometimes starting (there was a week when they'd start every morning at certain time). I had problems with mice in the apartment as well. They have serious issue with little bugs and pest control company they cooperate with can't really help out with it (apparently they like humidity and old floors in apartments). I found solution I was recommended on how to get rid of them particularly funny (put infested books/items in freezer).
The apartments come with lots of problems. Kitchen and bathroom appliances are falling apart. The windows won't stay open unless propped up and the management complains and treats me like I'm an idiot every time I tell them I have a problem. There is also no way to control the heat so it is very cold in the winter but they don't turn the heat off until may and since there is no way to control it, I have to keep my AC blasting throughout March and April. Also you have to pay for electricity, so this doubles your electric bill in these months. I've tried telling the maintenance that this is unfair and I shouldn't have to double my electric bill because they don't feel like installing a decent heating system but they just say there is nothing they can do and once again treat me like I'm an idiot until I leave them alone. The management is also too lazy to let you know before they shut your water off which they do quite frequently. My previous apartment only had to shut off my water a handful of times and the property manager would personally come to my room and let me know they will be shutting the water off, but here they just shut off your water without any warning and often in the morning while I'm taking a shower before work, you can imagine how frustrating this gets since it happens at least once a month. The laundry room is also a disaster, only 12 small laundry machines and over 300 rooms. You need 2 machines to do a full load of laundry so it can be very difficult to do laundry here. The only way to get 2 open machines is to wake up at 5am and do laundry before work or school. The only advantages to this place is that it has a nice view on higher floors and a small exercise room but almost any other apartment will also have these perks. There are so many better options in this area for the same price. Avoid this place at all costs.
I love this place they make you feel special..when something needs to be fixed they are rite on it
If you don't crazy motor riders go back and forth along the broad street making super loud noise at night. You can download a noise detector app. Just put it on your table, and sit there for one hour. It will reach 90dB five times in one hour. It just happened over 120dB tonight when 6 motors drive through!!! I am not joking. At least half of the apartments are facing the street or can see the street. If unfortunately get into one of them, you are on your own. The apartment cannot help. One of them even laughed saying that it is my fault to move into an apartment along the street without expecting the noise.
I’ve lived here for 3 years and I am leaving this year. The management has changed in the past year and due to their now unprofessional and neglectful ways of treating their tenants, I am leaving and will be telling as many people as I can. Unless you consistently contact them or threaten with legal actions you won’t get anything from them. Maintenance and management is allowed to be in your apartment when you’re not there and they also think that two knocks is sufficient when no one answers. Because they feel that way I have gotten out of the shower with men trying to enter and woke up with a man in my doorway. My complaint was completely ignored and nothing was changed, they’ve also changed certain policies and changed management without telling the tenants, the reliability of people at front desk is very low, and after I told one of them they were wrong, they threatened to come to my job and do the same thing.
They will lie to your face and tell you whatever they think will make you leave their office. They will not follow through and will treat you like ----. Left us homeless for 3 weeks after promising to have an apartment for us. They also will squeeze all your money out of you. So if your parents are paying and you don't care kudos they love that. If you are hardworking and pay your own rent and tuition beware. The day we were supposed to sign our lease they told us that they rented the apartment, however days before we were told repairs were not done. Good luck if you live here or desire to take your money elsewhere.
It's a nice place to live. The staff is friendly. Great location. Close to transportation and Temple university. My only complants are that one of the elevators are always broken and some of the apartments are cold during the winter month's.
Choosing this apt is just because I am an artist . And living in a big room helps me with my work after school. I am an international student in temple unverisity. This apt is a little bit old. One bedroom is 880per month not include elec. could be lots of money. But, living by my self is comfortable . This apt is location in broad street beside KFC and cvs . Life is convince .
