Extending from the 405 to Marina Del Rey, Del Rey provides everything you love about LA: the gorgeous beaches, impossibly tall, skinny palm trees, and that laidback atmosphere that no other city does quite like LA. Del Rey is next door to some of the city's most-loved beaches, including Venice Beach and Muscle Beach. Go shopping along the Venice Beach Boardwalk or watch the sailboats from the Marina Del Rey Jetty.
Culver City surrounds Del Rey on three sides. Del Rey is convenient to the Los Angeles International Airport, Loyola Marymount University, and the Ballona Wetlands Ecological Reserve. Del Rey is roughly 12 miles southwest of Downtown Los Angeles, convenient for trips to the STAPLES Center, Microsoft Theater, and the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Property Ratings at Aqua at Marina del Rey
It’s not worth it. The building has issues with repeated theft from package room, bike room, and storage areas that management does little to address. The building is also in general disrepair, items and areas in the common area are seldom working and there are constant issues within the apartments that go unsolved for weeks.
Management is horrible and does not respond to questions or complaints. They overcharged me for 4 months, admitted they overcharged me in writing then reported me to the credit bureau. Do not live here.
The location is great, facilities/maintenance people are friendly, but resident services ("community managers") are horrible, you will never get a response unless they are trying to get you to renew your lease. Their doors are always closed, if you try to call the office during business hours - no one will pick up, if you leave a message - no one will call you back, if you try to email them - days on end with no response (they don't even meet their 48-hour response window they communicate), or if you text them - they will ghost you. For Building 2 (oh yeah, when you sign a lease, you don't know what building you're going to get into - and they are pretty different and the street address differs - they don't tell you that btw), the elevators are always down, there are three at in the year that I lived there, there was maybe 2-weeks when all three were up. There were several months when two were down, including the one in the main lobby (that is used by guests, so you can't buzz anyone up to your unit). Additionally the front-door is broken, like someone tried to break-in and no one bothered to repair it, some of the "secure" doors are broken (aka does not need a fob to get in, and someone always leaves them propped open). Also, if you end up in Building 2 (off Fiji), the packages are in Building 1, so it's quite the walk. The packages themselves, are in a giant room for the residents of both buildings with minimal security, so your stuff will get lost, stolen, or my favorite - people who get meal services who don't picked them up, the food goes bad and starts leaking all over the place. Finally, the worst part - hot water. There is only one hot water heater for the building, so if you try to take a shower in the afternoon, like 3pm, it will take over 20-minutes to get hot water. This doesn't include the fact that in 1-year there, the water was out several times for a whole day -- which isn't so bad until you remember that you need water to flush the toilet.
Living here is horrible!! If you live on Fiji Way, you will be rudely woken up at 7am by the sound of garbage trucks banging the dumpsters that sit outside. Also, when our apartment flooded because the sprinklers went off in the floor above us, Aqua did NOTHING to compensate us in any way. For over almost a month, there were workmen in and out of our apt, cutting huge holes in the walls (including the bathroom so you could see our feet when sitting on the toilet). When we spoke to the management about our issues, there response was "Not our fault. Not our problem." Lastly, where is my security deposit??? Don't be fooled by the few friendly staff or the nice gym. The management at Aqua does not care about you. I cannot stress this enough: DO NOT LIVE HERE.
I have lived at Aqua for about 6 months now and have come to realize that the storage space allocation is minimal, as in there is none. They have no hall closet or place to put cleaning supplies, jackets, bags, or anything of the sort. This has became a major pain in my life because the closets are already small with no space to put anything. I live in a one bedroom with my girlfriend and it has become impossible to keep it clutter free due to this lack of storage. The location is okay, I go to school nearby so it convenient for me. Parking is good as well but seeming as they just redid some of the apartments they did a terrible job planning how people would actually make use of the space. I will be moving out upon expiration of my lease.
From amentities to location... peace and quiet. This building and apartment complex is perfect for the every day person.
You can't beat the location of this apartment for the price. Right across the street from a great shopping center with retail stores, UPS, groceries and the Marina behind it. Down the street a few more Grocery stores, more shopping and a movie theater. It's easy to find something to do and the weather is always great to do it
This apartment has lots of amentities to keep your LA life on fleek. Gym, workout classes, pool, sun deck, laundry in units to keep your look up to par, a dog park so you can keep your little and big babies close, free coffee in the lobby and it's a mile from the beach! It offers great guest parking options for your overnight guests ??. In my opinion the only thing that can make this place better is the staff matching the quality of the facilities but all in all its a 4/5! Boom.
This place is yet another community managed by Essex. Despite all the negative critics I like living here, however there are some things that is better considered before deciding on this place: 1-Although apartments with pool views are nice, it is often noisy considering people around BBQ, pool and the number of windows in such a large community, just one loud TV and open window can disrupt your morning sleep on a weekend. 2-The community is smoke-free, but often people use their patio for smoking and just a small opening of window with the packed apartments can easily bring the smell inside. So if you are not a smoker decide on corner units or upper floors. 3-This community is pet friendly, has a decent dog park, however despite all the notices from leasing office you often see dogs without leash!! furthermore stairs towards dog park are smelly. 4-The community has a WiFi lounge and business room with free printing and two conference rooms, often quite , perfect for studying. 5-This community has two buildings, I personally recommend the main building because the packages are delivered to the office there and it is quite a long way if you are leaving in building 2. 6- The location is the best thing about this place. It is close to waterside Marina Del Rey and close to cycling path along the beach. 7-The weather is almost the same year around! the highs are around 76 and always slightly windy. 8-leasing staff are friendly, but considering how large the community is, three members of leasing office are not sufficient to satisfy the community needs. 9- Finally it is worth mentioning that we got the place a little less than what was advertised, so I strongly suggest to negotiate before moving in.
Fire Alarm, security failures, loud neighbors. slow elevators
