Property Ratings at Arbor Forest Apartments
Immediately felt like home, clean, quiet, well-cared for. Expertly managed by Rashina, who genuinely cares. Maintenance is friendly and attentive. Cannot recommend this place enough.(You can tell that the owners must care too.) We hope to call this place home for a long, long time. Thank you! R & L
I moved to Arbor forest a month ago, and so far my experience has been amazing! Since before signing the lease I got a lot of help from the management with all the steps, and moving in was very smooth. The apartment is VERY spacious and new (carpets, painting, appliances), and the whole building is quiet. I thought the train tracks would bother me, but they aren't bad (very similar or even better than traffic noise). Amenities are great (bike parking, laundry, storage), and the staff is super friendly and helpful! The manager now (Rashina) is super helpful and efficient, and I never left her office without getting the assistance I needed. Maintenance is also super fast, and so helpful. 10/10 so far! I super recommend it as a quiet chilled place for a graduate student.
For Starters, the management, Rashina, is amazing. Very friendly. Willing to work with you, whatever you need. My college daughter has lived here for just over a year. One week before MSU went online and the world basically shut down. I can NOT think of a better place for my daughter to have been during the past year, during this pandemic, and studying from home. The apartment has been amazing. She has been isolated, but the space is big enough that she isn't getting stir crazy. It is super secure, quiet, beautiful, and the perfect place for a young student or professional (young and old). The location is fantastic, grounds very well maintained. Sidewalks kept clear and free of ice and snow always. Maintenance staff fast and eager to get anything fixed. Laundry and extra storage in the basement has been very convenient. Heat, gas and water included. She didn't freeze in the winter months, that's for sure. As a parent, I do not say this lightly: I have felt very secure and comfortable knowing my daughter has been in such a safe and friendly environment this past year. She has been very happy there. Such a short walk/drive to campus, so she can still go and walk around and feel like she is still part of the community. I can not say enough about this place. Young and old, you must check this place out. Hidden gem for sure. FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY! Everything you could possibly want or need in an apartment. Will be sad to leave when daughter graduates.
We moved in 2 beds/1bath apartment in August 2019. We lived there for a year. If there were 3 bedroom apartment we would definitely stay there for the second year. There are many reasons why it is the best place to live: 1. Location. There are an Emerson park and the elementary school near the apartment. Adults can do their workouts and kids can play in the playground. My 2 kids loved to play in school playground. The grocery is in a walking distance too. Apartments are also not far from the highway entrance ramp. 2. Apartment. It is clean, fresh, warm in winter. You do not hear your neighbors, neither upstairs nor downstairs. (In the apartment where we live now it is a big issue) We were also lucky with neighbors. They also have kids. And kids always played together. We still keep in touch with them. 3. The maintenance works great. If you leave a message, your problem will be fixed the same day. The manager Debi is also very responsive , organized and very polite. 4. Utility. We paid only for the electricity. It is approximately $35-$40 in a month. New Laundry facilities which are free. There were no hidden fees. Finally, it is a very cozy, beautiful, well-kept and safe place to live in East Lansing.
I lived at Arbor Forest for the past year and moved out in Aug 2020. It was very pleasant. The former manager Debi was very efficient and friendly. Sean and Duane, the maintenance staff, were both nice and helpful. The new manager Shanna was very helpful too. The apartment is close to the MSU campus, the Fresh Thyme Market, and Red Cedar School--conveniently located for all members of my family. The neighborhood is quiet and beautiful. My daughter and I used to stroll around Emerson Park to gather wild berries or fireflies during the summer. During my stay I made friends with some really nice neighbors. Some of them have lived there for over two decades. Hope my review helps anyone interested in renting an apartment there.
I moved to Arbor Forest in 2014 and have spent five years in this community where I find the best services and neighborhood environment. It's close to Fresh&Thyme, AT&T, nice restaurants, Yoga place, and a church. Many of my labmates live here for years before they leaving EL for another adventure and I never heard any complaint towards this place from them. Debi, the manager, is always ready to help and the handymen are of high efficiency to get the stuff fixed. Though it's not far away from the railroad, the noise is tolerable and won't affect the sleep. I would like to recommend this place to anyone who's looking for a nice apartment to stay.
We tremendously enjoy every day our apartment and complex that we call home. It is just across the wonderful Emerson Park where you can watch the turkey and the dear crossing. It makes for a wonderful one-mile walk only to downtown East Lansing, walking distance to MSU and interstates 496 & 120 are less than a minute away! It is stone away from Fresh Thyme grocery store and five minutes to the Elementary school nearby. The laundry is free, the hot water and the heat area free as well. In the summer, one enjoys the swimming pool. The manager Debi is lovely and very prompt with solving any problem. Duane and Sean from the staff are experts in resolving any technical issue whatsoever in record time. You are in luck -- there are a couple of spot available! So, most definitely come and see Debi for a tour! --Serban and Family.
We absolutely love this apartment and complex! We would highly recommend it to any adults looking to live close to MSU and East Lansing - there are few undergrads here, but we (age 28 & 25) like it that way. It makes for a wonderful 1 mile walk to go out for a night in downtown EL, but far enough away that we are unaffected by the large scale celebrations on Grand River. I am able to walk to class at MSU, and interstates 496 & 120 are literally less than a minute away. I know this place isn't available often, so if you see a spot available and are looking for a great place to stay in East Lansing definitely come see Debi for a tour. These apartments are wonderful, and so are the neighbors!
I have lived in Arbor Forest for nearly 4 years now. I am a grad student as MSU and when I first moved to the area, I wanted to find a place that was not overrun with undergrads yet still close to campus. Arbor Forest has met both of those requirements! I have a one bedroom apartment with hardwood floors that looks out over the park behind the complex. The manager, Debi, is wonderful and maintenance is extremely prompt! Free heat, free hot water, free laundry in the building. A very quick walk to Fresh Thyme and other shopping and a reasonable distance from MSU (1.25 miles to walk to the center of campus). My only complaints are: 1) The a/c is not central air, it is a wall unit in the living room that is loud and doesn't do a great job of cooling down the bedroom without freezing the living room; and 2) It is very easy to hear my neighbor walking above me at night. I have been unlucky and had a series of night owls living above me over the years. However, that being said, the complex as a whole is very quiet and I have not ever had an issue with neighbors.
Such an amazing and beautiful environment at Arbor Forest Apartments!! My daughter absolutely loves everything about it there! Keep up the fantastic work Arbor Forest Staff
