The neighborhood is situated off the shores of the Huron River and partially encompasses the University of Michigan Nichols Arboretum. In the southern part of Northeast Ann Arbor, Highway 22 holds plazas filled with all the necessities. The southern tip of town is also where Northeast Ann Arbor’s rental options are located. Renters have options of moderately priced apartments. While Northeast Ann Arbor remains quiet, residents are just five miles west of the buzzing energy of Downtown Ann Arbor, home to the University of Michigan.

Property Ratings at ARBOR HILLS APARTMENTS
Everything was going very smooth until they cashed my check and denied me in the same day! They use a 3rd party backround check done by a single person... I found it to be full of inaccuracies and this complex was not compliant at all receiving all of my state office paperwork. Look around before settling with this place. Glad I found somewhere else to live. Very stressful for me and my image.
I've lived in AA for about 9 years now and this is one of the worst apartments I've been in, Management is absolutely horrible, (they have a new person in the office that seems fine). Noise level inside and outside the apartment is very high, and you can hear everything that is gong on above or around you. The water has been shut off on several occasions so they can "work" on it, sometimes without warning. We found mice in our apartment and many stink bugs. The place is in very mediocre condition when you get it but they will charge you for things that were already there so make sure you actually note it when you move in even if they say it'll be fixed in the next few days. There are plenty of apartment complexes in the surrounding area that would be much better. The location seems nice because it's across the street form a walgreens and whole foods but most things around there close at 10 and that convenience was certainly not as worth it as I thought it might be. Would not recommend.
The apartment is very old. During the winter, you cannot adjust the temperature of the heating system and it is usually too hot in the apartment. The A/C is old, only located in living room and it is hard to reach other rooms. During the summer, the bedrooms can be extremely hot even if the A/C in living room is turned on. The previous property manager Sunny is super nice, but since Sunny moved elsewhere, the new manager is not nice. She is not responsive and hard to find in her office. Be sure to check out the laundry room when having a tour, it is messy and the washer/dryer can be broken very often in some buildings. Location is convenient but also tricky. During rush hours, there can be lots of cars piling up on roads and it took a while to drive into the residential sites. I won't recommend this apartment to my friends.
I have lived here for more than 3 years and have never thought about moving out. I would highly recommend it for the following reasons: 1) The location of the apartment is great. There is Walgreen, Whole Food, Barnes & Noble within 2 mins' walk. There is a large shopping center ArborLand nearby, including a large Krog Store. Two bus stops are within 2 mins walk. 2) The apartment is clean and well maintained. The manager is very nice and always ready for help.
It is a perfect location in Ann Arbor with a relatively low rent. 3 min's walk to bookstore, to Starbucks, to Walgreen and to Wholefoods. In 10 min's walk, you can arrive Arborland and other fancy clothes stores. 2 min to bus stops. It takes 10-15 min to UM campus, to Briarwood Mall and to Target. Very Convenient!
Arbor Hills is the most convenient apartment I've ever met! There are Wholefoods, Barnes & Noble, Game Stop, Walgreen, and yoga club just across from the apartment! There are also lululemon, madewell, northface and many other shopping store in 3-min-walk!
I moved to Ann Arbor 3 months ago as a visiting researcher. It was important for me to rent a good apartment at a reasonable price as I came to US with my family. I am happy to have chosen the place. It is neat, comfortable and located in a very good area, near Arborland, a shopping center with all kinds of necessary things. There is a whole chain of various cafes and restaurants in the neighborhood. If you care about your health and can afford organic food there is a famous supermarket for it just across the street. There is also a recreation center opposite to it. And everyone will admire a large bookstore nearby. Also both CVS and Urgent Care are just across the street. On the one hand, there is a great choice of bus routes you can take to go to different parts of the city. On the other hand, the apartment complex is situated next to a beautiful park and not far from golf courses. My children have good transportation to Huron High and Allen Elementary Schools. The place has good space for parking cars but it still needs to have a better parking for bikes. But the main advantage of the complex is its manager, Sunny. She has been tremendously helpful during the whole period, and even before we came here. She gave us advice on all kinds of paperwork we had to do and was very patient if we could not do them in time. We have never been provided with any false information. If I had any slight issues (like sink tiny leakage or drawer stuck) maintenance came immediately and took care about them.
just moved to this apartment early of this month from outside the country. decided to choose this apartment for several reasons: close proximity to shops and public transportation, reasonable rental at a strategic location, inclusion of heat in the rent, as well as the location of the apartments within ann arbor school district with school bus available. the whole process of application until move in had been very smooth, and the aparments manager Sunny is very helpful in answering all sort questions and issues via email (since I was applying from abroad). overall, the place is exactly what i was expected and even more.
An excellent apartment at a great location! All concerns/services are handled promptly and I have never had an issue with any of the residents. Sunny, the property manager is very helpful and attentive. An easy 5 stars!
I looked into this place a couple years ago when I was moving back ti Michigan. It's good for the money however they don't comply with EEOC. Their idea of a background check is use some google search for cached court records and not an actual background check. They will also order check history reports which have been proven to be in effective in addition to your credit report. I guess if you new to this country you'll be fine however if you a younger generation who doesn't write many checks good luck.
