Central Lakes is the park-like area west of Downtown Lakewood. True to its name, Central Lakes encompasses Lake Louise, Waughop Lake, Steilacoom Lake, and borders American Lake to the south. The scenic area is mostly residential with a variety of moderately priced apartments situated along the borders of town. Hiking, boating, fishing, and exploring the lakes are popular pastimes among residents, but additional family-friendly fun is provided at places like Historic Fort Steilacoom, Lakewood Gardens, and the Pierce College Science Dome, located on the Pierce College Fort Steilacoom campus. Central Lakes is only a few miles east of the Carr Inlet, which provides more opportunities to enjoy water sports, hiking, and scenic views. Apart from the lush outdoors, big-city amenities are available by traveling 10 miles north to Tacoma or 40 miles north to Seattle.

Property Ratings at Arbor Pointe
If I could give this 0 stars I would. Just got a fine for leaving trash outside for about six hours. I can not walk more than a few feet without exceutiating pain and was waiting on my husband to come home to take it out. Also they wont let you leave a bike outside your own balcony area as it is a "no no" according to the maintenance person. He was just here with bolt cutters trying to confiscate the bike that cost us a few grand. Although the apartments look renovated, they just slapped a new coat of paint on and called it good. The flooring is sticky laminate and very difficult to clean. Apartment staff is never in the office when I stop by, during normal business hours. I have had two neighbors since I moved in and both have definitley exceeded the capacity of a three bedroom apartment. I currently have five adults and atleast six children living next door. Parking can be non existent at times. Our railing to our apartment stairs outside was on the ground. I submitted a maintenance request as urgent since there are kids who live up here. It took them about a week to come out and put the railing back on. In conclusion, if you want to live in a crappy apartment, with cupboard doors falling off, chipping paint, fake flooring and staff that is either harrassing you to move a bike or non existent, then move to Arbor Pointe. If youre reading this and thinking "She probably had a onenoff experience." Please think again. Take heed of my reviews and others and DO NOT MOVE HERE.
I've been living here for about 6 months and were already making plans to leave. I've had my car broken into twice, no security whatsoever, even had items stolen from our porch within minutes from leaving the area. The office staff seem nice at a first glance but as soon as you've been there long enough , their hospitality seems to subside. The only perk about living their is the fact it's close to base, other than that I'd advise you look elsewhere. There is never any parking available after 4 any day and you always feel thieves are lurking about.
Not one of the better choices I have made. The complex is quaint yes, but it stops there. Dealing with management is nearly impossible. There information between the manager and assistant manager is constantly conflicting. The assistant manager is great deal with. She is friendly and upbeat. The manager needs a few classes in customer service. When you move in you will not pay a deposit which they benefit from in the long run. They will nickel and dime you when you move out. Don't worry about spending 12 hrs scrubbing your already clean apartment they will still charge you. If you have pets check any deposit off...and plan on paying for new carpets. They change carpets in every apartment that has a pet and you will pay. The damage done to my carpets was done to their poor upkeep of the subfloor not my pets (I've lived in numerous apartments, and have never had Pet damage and always got my deposit back) Once your lease is up. Your rent will go up, and continue to go up. You can get an apartment with many more amenities then what Arbor Pointe has to offer for the same price. Everything is a battle with this place with a dollar sign attached it doesn't matter if it's a simple maintenance request, moving in or moving out. Please don't waste your time and money. It's truly not worth the headache, I wish I would have known. If you live near the front of the complex parking is near impossible. You will need to buy a parking spot for $30 if you plan on parking near your building. TheRe is no security lighting. The only lighting is in stairwells and the carports both are poorly lit. People do not pick up after their dogs. People drive at excess speeds through the complex. There is only one garbage compactor located at the entrance of the complex, which is always over filling and had stray cats and rodents feeding from it. $800 to move out of an apartment that was cleaner than when I moved in...bogus
My family choose this apartment because they give great deals for rent based off availability. We got a 3 bedroom for really cheap. It is generally quite and has a low key neighborhood environment. There is a nice play area for kids with many kids around. The cons are the after hours. We had a floor apartment and had many issuea with upstairs neighbors aside from the normal issues many have from upstairs neighbors. Also the water system is questionable. The cold water will tuen hot for 4 min then go back to cold. When I told the maintenance people they just claimed the puppies are in the sun on the roof so it gets heated but we'l go away. Its nit bad but you get what you pay for.
The complex is located not even a five minute drive from the north gate of north fort, which is awesome for a commute. Other than that there isn't much to brag about. The parking situation stinks, you have to pay over $30 per month for a covered spot, no one does and so 9/10 times I'm left driving around looking for free space, and I end up parking so far from my apartment and weaving around the people who parked in every fire zone because its not worth the gas looking for a spot. The laundry machines are pretty small and you can tell the apartments need some updating. The water sewer garbage is not included in the rent and its always at least $75 (I asked around, that's the rate for two people in a one bedroom) so plan to add that cost to your monthly rent. The only other major issue is how nosy and inconsiderate the neighbors are. If you plan to have guests past 9:30 weeknight or weekend you might want to whisper or there will be a knock on your door but when it comes to your neighbors kids and dogs obeying the same rules forget about it.
I am currently a resident and have been living here for 2 years. The pros of living here are: the area these apartments are in is nice and secluded. There are trees that surround the complex. You are close to Ft. Steilacoom park and also Sunnyside Beach. There is an elementary school within walking distance, the high school and middle school are also close. Pierce College is just down the road. Not too far from I-5 or JBLM. It is quite for the most part. The staff is nice and they will work with you if you have any problems. The bad about living here: there is only one trash compactor for the entire complex, with how many residents are here there should be at least two. The ammenties they offer are very slim. The "fitness center" is the size of a closet and only open during office hours. The swimming pool is closed more than it is open in the summer, if something with the pool breaks on a weekend they keep it closed till the following week because they don't want to pay the extra fees for weekend hours for the pool people to come out. The playground is always dirty with trash everywhere. I refuse to take my child there often because there are always teenagers there being disrespectful. You have to pay $35 for covered parking, it used to be $30, this is on top of your rent and w/s/g. I think every apartment should be assigned 1 covered spot and if they choose to have another than pay for it. Trying to find parking that isn't covered is ridiculous. People that don't pay for the covered parking still park there. There are never any parking spots available in front of your building. I think with the extra money they charge you for things like parking they should use it to fix things that don't work (the swimming pool & playground or getting another trash compactor). I like living here don't get me wrong. There is just some things that need to be changed. The rent is decently priced for the size of the apartments. If I didn't like it here in wouldn't have stayed here for as long as I have and I am about to sign a new lease again.
this complex is really nice to live, near to stores, college, affordable, office management are really helpful and care about every one.
