Hugging the Congaree River and stretching east, Columbia is a sprawling city with a history dating back to colonial times. Nicknamed the "Capital of Southern Hospitality," Columbia is a welcoming, warm city -- it is also a college town, home to the University of South Carolina. The university is located downtown, covering over 359 acres. The historic, top-ranking university dates back to 1801, but the oldest structure in Columbia is the Seibels House, built around 1796. It currently serves as a house museum.
While there's plenty for college students to do, Columbia provides a variety of activities -- whether you're a golfer, a shopper, or a foodie. Kid-friendly activities are everywhere, from the gorgeous parks to the Riverbanks Zoo and Garden. Property Ratings at Arcadia's Edge Apartments
I lived here from May-2022 until April-2023.. Constant change in office employees.. Horrible management. The property doesn’t take care of trash pile up at the dumpster, then threaten you with 100$ trash fees. I once had a payment of 1,500$ go missing, and days later one of the main property employees quit & they never found out what happened to the money… We pay way too much, and there is no dog park….But each animal is 300$ at move in? They are currently charging me 1,528$ in move out fees, and using falsified pictures that are NOT from my unit… This property would be lovely if they could find kind, caring people to work for the company. I could go into more detail but needless to say.. Overall this is a nasty, horrible place to live. Stay away
Used to be ok before a change in management. Garbage piles up, repairs take forever, pool not maintained and shutdown by DHEC.
I’ve lived here almost 2 years and it has gone downhill. Constant turnover with management and maintenance. My garbage disposal has been broken for over 6 months and has not been fixed. Gate? They’ve been broken for over a month. Rent? Expect them to jack the price up if you renew. Trash? They removed our garbage dumpster and now it’s just a pile of trash but they threaten to fine us. The garbage compactor? It’s been full and now trash is accumulating. They expect us to pay trash fees but we have nowhere to dump our trash. Much better locations to choose from.
