Situated at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Central Virginia, Charlottesville is a fiercely modern city with a reverence for the past. Two United States presidents called Charlottesville home, Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe. Thomas Jefferson designed Monticello and the University of Virginia, both of which are now UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Adjacent to Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello is James Monroe’s Ash Lawn-Highland, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
Charlottesville also houses the largest collection of Aboriginal art outside of Australia, the Kluge-Ruhe Aboriginal Art Collection at the University of Virginia. The Jefferson Theater, the Paramount Theater, and a number of music venues in the downtown area host regular performances in Charlottesville, adding to the rich arts and cultural scene.

Property Ratings at Arden Place
This community is of true excellence! In every aspect, the leasing team makes certain that all your needs are accommodated in any professional manner possible, there open-mindedness demonstrates that your perspectives are heard, respected, and they are genuinely kind at all times. Their maintenance team is of pure professionalism, integrity, and honor! That is just the beginning; the amenities (i.e. pool, gym, etc.) are all well-kept, and easily accessible. The apartments are beautiful inside and out! The community is safely gated as often as possible to ensure the greatest experience of fellowship. If I could rate it 6 stars out of 5 I would! What an absolutely awesome place to have a family or family member stay.
Management not responsive to problems. Little to no communication from management with tenants.

Thank you for your feedback. Resident communication is very important to us and we're disappointed to hear that we haven't delivered in this area in your experience. Please know that we take reviews like this seriously and we appreciate you raising the issue.
My AC broke 3x. My washer had to be replaced. My water heater makes terrible noises. The handle on my bathtub fell off. My track lighting has a short. My cabinet doors are falling off & the sink has a leak. I had to replace the hose on my toilet. There's a large crack on my living room wall spreading concerningly fast. My electric bill was $280/mon over the winter for 2 beds. The gate doesn't work. It goes from being open at ALL hours to always closed. My code has NEVER worked. Last week the barcode scanner wouldn't let me or someone behind me in with the decals on our cars. It's nearly impossible to receive deliveries, have friends over, sometimes even enter myself. The complex opened the pool again before opening the gym up to anytime usage. Before you had to reserve a 30 minute spot at least a day in advance but ONLY during office hours.Multiple times they approved it AFTER the slot had started. The dog park has several deep holes that are constantly just brushed over with mulch. The response has repeatedly been to move a bench over the deeper holes & ignore permanent solutions. I've fallen into the hole. It's an injury waiting to happen. The dog park poop bags are out about 50% of the time, so often the park is a mess. They closed the park for 4 days to fix part of the fence near the gate without prior notice to pet owners. They are constantly doing something to the grounds. You'll get a paper on the door & suddenly there's resurfacing & you can't park here for 3 days, or an inspection, or there's pressure washing & if you work from home, you're out of luck because the noise. They begin mowing at 7:30 in the morning outside my bedroom windows. I have been woken numerous times. You'd think they could create a schedule to begin at the office. A woman feeds the feral cats by the dumpsters & the deer along the path. She has been complained about many times by residents & office staff has done nothing. She's created a dependent colony around the complex that are not vaccinated, domesticated & endangered by their willingness to come up to humans now. The dumpsters overflow weekly. They are not receiving pick up service on a regular basis to meet the needs of the complex. This isn't intermittent. Issues are continuous. Literally today, maintenance posted a handicap parking sign over the spot where my car was parked, WHILE my car was in the spot, with 0notice. I haven't received any mail in three weeks. The entire community is having endless issues with the mail here.

This is the best apartment community I've ever lived in. I moved here straight from Florida. The staff at Arden were extremely helpful! They knew I was moving from Florida and agreed to Facetime me to show me my exact apartment room I would be moving into (the other apartments in Charlottesville refused to do so. Oh well! Their loss!), as well as the complex since I could not come and see it in person. They always called me back within the same day to answer any questions I had. The staff was VERY kind when I arrived. The move-in process is usually stressful but WOW did Arden staff make it SUPER easy. They even carried my luggage up to my floor for me on move in day. Neighbors are quiet, friendly and pick up after their pets. Community areas are always neat & clean. Landscape is always beautiful. I LOVE living here.

Wow, we're thrilled to hear how much you love residing at Arden Place Apartments! It made our day to read your kind words about our dedicated staff, and we're so glad to hear your move went smoothly. Thanks for the great feedback!
I've lived here for just over a year now. This is a lovely, peaceful community. Quiet. The staff are incredibly prompt, super friendly, and helpful. Justin leads an incredible team - they are caring and set the bar very high for customer service. I held a 20 staff person work retreat in the great room/solarium, which they helped me set up and figure out the technology. On another occasion they made sure I knew how to make the large movie room technology work so I could watch the Wimbledon Finals last year! The maintenance team is similarly responsive and friendly. Thanks Justin and team for a great luxury apartment living experience!
Do not live here! They look nice on the outside, but they are built very poorly! You can hear everything that is going on in your neighbors apartments above and to the sides of you. They give parking passes that are never really checked if people are parking in the correct spaces. The gates are a false sense of security and are ALWAYS BROKEN! Even when they do work, nothing is enforced. People just wait for someone with a pass to get in the gate and follow 3-4 vehicles after. Management could really care less for working with you at all. When it all comes down to it, doesn't matter if you pay your rent on time every month, have any complaints on you, or take care of your apartment, it's a business and don't let them make you feel like they are your friends because they are not. It's all about the money and not the people. For the price point for this apartment, save your money and stay up the road at another location for less money!
Arden creek apartments are clean and spacious. Every thing is up to date with new counter tops and high ceilings. If you ever need anything, they management is quick to send someone to help.
My husband and I have lived at Arden Creek Place for almost a year, and we can honestly say that we have enjoyed our experience so far. 1. We like that our home is close to the shopping centers in Charlottesville. 2. We love the peace and quiet of the apartment complex. 3. We like the cleanliness of the grounds. 4. We love the modern fixtures and space of our home. 5. Lastly, we love the friendly staff. They promptly answer our questions and answers.
This apartment really disappointed my husband and I. After living there for three years while in law school, we were prompt with our rent, quiet, and took great care of the apartment. We had a well-behaved dog that had a total of maybe two accidents in the apt, which we promptly cleaned up using carpet cleaner. After we moved out we got a bill from them several weeks later stating that we owed them an extra "carpet fee" due to our pet soiling the carpet. This was after they inspected our apartment, and said it was fine. They explained that they had to replace all of the carpet due to our pet, and since it was a special long-lasting carpet, it was over $1000.00 to replace. We tried calling them, and talking to them as this was totally dishonest, and we had also paid the pet deposit when we moved in, and had also paid a monthly fee. They were not responsive, and immediately sent the bill to a collection agency without communicating adequately with us. We ended up paying the bill, but will never recommend this place to anyone.
Overall, I think the property is maintained well. I enjoy the gym, which is on the small size but get's it done. Most residents are friendly and thoughtful. And eventually I will one day get to enjoy the movie theater. Likes and suggestions: I like effort that goes into maintaining the grounds. Residents are brought to task for leaving trash outside the door or not picking up after their dog. Biggest dislike, noise level. I don't hear TV's or radios but I definitely can hear the tenants above me walking, shutting doors sometimes or dropping things which are loud enough and often enough to be distracting and/or wake me up, as I work nights... :-(
when I moved to Charlottesville earlier this year for my work, I was looking for a place that would be quiet and a comfortable place I could come home to. Arden place has been everything I could ask plus more. The staff is awesome and I cant stress enough how friendly and helpful they are with all my needs. The complex is luxurious living with a business, fitness center and a full movie theatre and golf simulator room (which ive never seen anywhere else)Any and all problems, as few as they were, were attended to immediately. The area is well guarded and security roams through at night which makes me feel even safer. I've never had issues with parking and the complex is secluded enough where you feel you can just come home and relax but only about a 10 minute drive from downtown if I wanted some late night action or grubbing. I haven't met a neighbor here I didn't get along with and overall people seem pretty happy here and friendly as well as dog friendly. I would totally recommend this place for anyone as it can meet a families needs or just for single living. Likes and suggestions: Management, amenities, peaceful
Keep up the good work guys, this is a great community! Likes and suggestions: I have been living in Arden Place since December 2012 (six months) and have recently renewed my lease for another year. The management personnel and staff are friendly, efficient, professional and kind. I never had a problem parking here and when guests visit there is always a spot nearby for them to park. I love the gym, the clubhouse and the pool. The decoration in the clubhouse is classy and modern. The pool is always clean and has comfy furniture that allow for an all day in the sun relaxation! I like that the community is pet friendly and yet has plenty of rules to keep things in order. I love dogs and it's such a joy to have them around. I am thankful to the management team for organizing social events so that we can meet our neighbors and make new friends. I am new to town and enjoyed the last pool party we had where I had the chance to meet new people. Maintenance is super fast and efficient, I never had to wait to have my requests taken care of. They go the extra mile to make sure everything works well. I did a lot of research before moving here and feel this is the best place to live in Charlottesville. Oh and did I mention Whole Foods, Trader Joes, a huge modern movie theatre and plenty of great stores are nearby? :) What else could we wish for?
LOVE this place. I only gave the parking 3 stars because there aren't that many guest parking spaces. I've personally never had a problem with guests coming over but I have seen all the spots taken up. Other than that this place is beautiful, wonderful and completely worth the value.
Great place to live. Apartments and complex are clean and well maintained. The staff is readily available and always willing to help out. Great place to live if you have a dog. The within complex dog park makes it easy to get your dog out for some exercise and there are always other friendly dogs to play with. The apartments are located off of Rt-29, so you are close to everything but set away from the road enough that feel secluded. Parking can get tricky at times, but it has never been a consistent issue. It is definitely one the higher end price-wise, but it is worth the comfort and sense of safety.
Overall, it's a great place to be. It's close to many restaurants and shops, although a little far from UVa. The walls are surprisingly thin, but my neighbors are pretty quiet. Maintenance responds quickly and are always very friendly and respectful of your belongings. The only semi-issue is parking. My friends rarely find spots close to my building but there are other places to park nearby.
This is a great place to live! a very social and friendly community! Very pet friendly!
Very friendly community with quality apartments. Apartments are spacious with an open floor plan and a great kitchen! Wish the community events drew a bigger crowd.
Very nice. Staff needs to be more forth coming with information. I left a security deposit on an apartment and was told I had 72 hours to cancel to receive a refund. I found an apartment that I liked better in another complex and Arden Place would not refund my money. I was told I had to wait a week until it was processed in the main office in Maryland. This was less than two hours after I had written the check.
The staff is very, very friendly and helpful. They are quickly and effectively responsive to maintenence needs. I enjoy the social activities planned and conducted by the staff at the clubhouse. The gym is nice for cardio and light weights. Neighbors are friendly.
Great if you are new to the area and young. Not so great if you don't like alot of rules and constant changes. The regional is money driven and not very helpful.
