Lease office has these one way mirror windows like where they identify criminals in a police lineup that you can't see inside from out...I've never seen apartments that has such impersonal and unfriendly settings like that. Lease office people hide behind those windows and don't care about residents except collecting rents. Apartments are more than 30 years old and appliances and carpets inside show it. I would stay away from this place at all cost.
They only care about collection rents...don't respond to tenants regarding property issues, very unprofessional.
Lived long enough in this apartment complex to write a review. Pro : School district Cons : Rude Leasing office, cannot cover car to protect from sun or hard water sprinkles, car towed away without notice, repairs can start without notice, apartment are very very old, kitchen are very small. Beware of the property!

I moved from East coast and have been living here for almost two years. This place is great for kids and the apartment management addressed service requests promptly.. Though the age of the property and appliances is old, it is well maintained and staff have been friendly and responsive every time I had reached out.. they followed covid protocol diligently.. Schools nearby have high rating..

This place is very good for a family specially people whose children are in elementary school. Also it is safe as it is closed. I really appreciate the help from the lease office staff. They are so nice and helpful.
Four months of our stay at this place was very depressive, old accessories and dirty surrounding. We vacated the condominium much before the lease over date. Spending even one more day was getting exhausting. There are people with low expectations and staying multi-years here. We couldn't. Never, never more something like this.
Despite several negative reviews, I did an adventure of staying here for 6 months. Certainly I regretted my decision and immediately moved out as soon as 6 months got over. Too expensive considering the kind of appliances they provide and quality of these old buildings in poor condition. It looks great on the website. As per checklist almost everything you have here, but in practical ether, things/appliance doesn't work properly or you end up spending time in repair of one or other part of the building.
We came across Ardenwood Forest Condominiums while searching for a suitable place near to the elementary schools in the Fremont area. Somehow we ignored several negative reviews and gave a try to this place. Location is excellent but not the condominiums. It was agony and painful stay of 6 months, and when I saw such a steep hike in rent after six months, we decided to make a move. Rent is too high for these less than tiny 900 SQFT condominiums. I got a better deal for a spacious condo and made a move.
Considering the quality of this old condominiums which is not maintained well, old appliances and poor management, the cost is not justified at all. They have several empty condominiums but to create fake demand say nothing available and ask to follow-up after sometime. I'm moving out to an independent house with better facilities and at a lower monthly rent just next to this condominium. Year on year rent increase is also very high. In summary not value for money place.

old building, old appliances, and very high rent. Not at all value for money. This used to be a great place about 10 years back. There are several alternative newer apartments around this at much cheaper rates and with new appliances.
Pros 1. Located in best school zone. Probably the only apartment community in the school zone. 2. Nice location (close to I-880 and 84) Cons: 1. Apartments are very very old and the management won't even renovate the apartments 2. Horrible staff - They won't respond to your emails or voice messages that you leave. They don't even answer your questions properly. Not courteous at all. Be prepared to be overcharged due to some calculation mistakes on their end. 3. Not enough parking places (apart from garage), if you have a second car, you may end of parking on the road 4. Maintenance staff don't show up until you walk in to the leasing office and ask. Not sure why they have the Website to submit the service requests 5. Rent increase by at least 5% every time you renew your lease. 6. The lease agreement is something they don't even comply. There are only oral communications which are different from lease terms and you may be told that you might haven't heard it properly. Conclusion: Move here only if you are lucky to win lotteries (for the school admission) and want to have your kids in one of the best schools.
I wish there were an option of negative 5 stars. Worst apartment in Fremont. The management is aweful. I had worst experience of my life while i was speaking to the staffs over the call. She lied to us and refused to refund my money, after she didn't approve our application after two weeks. They lied to us while we were filling out the application
Don't stay here, or you may either get overcharged or waste your time to get the money back. It took me 6 office visits in 7 days including half a day off from work to correct an overdue that was made mistakenly by them! Visit 1: I was on month to month lease and needed to moved out. As requested I needed to give a 30day notice. Last Sunday (02/25), I went to the office to turn in the notice. I was told I'll soon receive a letter for pro-rated rent, and I only needed to pay for the rest time of staying, instead of a full month. Visit 2: On Friday morning (03/02), the online system showed a full-month rent due. I went to the office to ask what happened. The very staff who took my notice the previous Sunday said he couldn't find the notice I gave. For the whole week he didn't do anything like contacting me while he lost my paperwork. And then he asked me if I have a copy of the notice I gave to him to verify what I said. Visit 3: I went back home trying to find the copy, but only found a photo I took with my cellphone. I went back to the office, and asked the staff when the incorrect due in the system will be removed, he said as soon as I paid the pro-rate. Given the experience of last week, I figured I'd better do that now in case he might lose my paperwork again. Visit 4: So I went back home to get my check, and visited again. I waited him to finish all the paperwork and then he told me to go back and wait, saying the incorrect due will be removed as soon as my check is deposited. So far I spent the whole Friday morning in the office, but that was not over. Visit 5: On Saturday morning (03/03), I found my check was deposited, but in the internal system, I still have a due equal to the full-month rent minus the pro-rate I paid, meaning the staff didn't correct it. I went to the office again to ask why it's not corrected, the staff said the accounting person will come on Sunday and ask me to come back again -- Even he knew it's his mistake, he still asked me to follow up. And so far I had got no apology for the mistake and troubles caused to me. Visit 6: I went to the office the 6th time on Sunday (03/04). I was really upset and might have raised my voice a little bit, which was heard by the accounting person. She asked what happened. That made me understand that the staff had never told her about the problem and my previous 5 visits. I had to describe the event again. Finally she corrected the due online which only took 20 seconds.
I lived here for 11 years and only moved because my son graduated high school and we bought a home. I made many friends here and the team working here were like friends to me too. Management was responsive and Maintenance was respectful, patient and more responsive than any other apartment community Ive ever lived at. The amenities are great and well maintained. Id move back if the need ever arose.
I've lived in Ardenwood for nearly two years and I must say that area is extremely nice. It is reasonably secluded, while being reasonably connected. People are mostly nice with some loud exceptions and very loud children, as there are practically no places for them to play besides parking lots in front of the apartments. Complex is old and poorly maintained. If not for the maintenance supervisor, who is amazing, it would probably be in ruins by now. Appliances are old, no AC, carpets are old, bathrooms are in very poor shape. Repairs are done slow, unless supervisor is involved. Rent is high and it goes up annually, but they have decent promotions from time to time, especially close the winter. Management is very decent. I'd probably call them a bit distant, but it is not necessarily a bad thing. They are polite and efficient. Overall - decent place to live, but way too expensive for such poor quality of the apartments.
Love this place. Great amenities included. Feel safe here. Great staff. A bit pricey but worth it for all you get compared to most places. Don't complain. ..
AWF is awesome to live water , sewer & garbage paid pet friendly nice night trail throughout both sides of community very close to all stores and markets close to all freeway points 2 huge pools 3 club houses for renting for small parties very awesome !
I am current resident at this Condo and have had nothing but bad experiences here. This place is infested with bugs and raccoons. The maintenance staff a incompetent and extremely slow to respond. My bathroom has flooded so many times due to heavy rain and even though I have reported it so many times, nothing has been done about it. The maintenance staff continue to act as if they know nothing about it every time I call them and tell me the same thing that they will get the roof fixed. Its been almost a year and the roof is still to be fixed. The maintenance manager last time when he came to check even made it seem like it might be something I must be doing wrong that is causing the flooding by telling me a lame story about another resident who apparently caused the flooding in his bathroom and didn't know about it. My kids have gotten bit by bugs so many times since we have been here. The landscaping people only clean up the front portion of the apartment to make it look good from outside, they never make an effort to clean in front of the apartments on the inside and due to so many trees around these apartments there are always dry leaves and branches falling and keeps piling on top of each other. For the amount of money they charge for these apartments, its very poor service. I am only here because of the school for my kids but am really looking to move out of here as soon as possible. There is always something breaking in this place. The microwave is even so big compared to where the stove is place that I have to bend down to be able to see the knobs to turn the stove on.
We all want a place to call home and feel good about the comfort and reliability of apartment living. Before jumping in head first because the terms and cost sound good, be sure to become well acquainted with the property staff and your neighbors before signing on the dotted line. Sometimes cost benefits don't out weigh the fact you get what you pay for. It's unfortunate cost of living keeps rising while wages stay on a cold front freeze. Wages should be updated to today's rent increases and standards should be in place for updated apartment appliances that can function for more than a few months without needing repairs.
Location is perfect for schools, park, Groceries etc.
it is the best ... if u think of ardenwood apts... don't change your mind !!!! the best apts ever-ardenwood apts I've seen 2 swimming pools 6 tennis courts etc... I can't imagine... and excelant maintenance.. I cannot sleep without giving five star
